I got this movie for my birthday yesterday. :3 I love Sucker Punch. It makes me sad they had to cut out this scene because I think it gives more of a sense of what this club is about and what the girls do, but at least it wasn't a total waste since it is in the credits. :) And good god, Blue and Madame Gorski are such good singers!! :D

Glad they didn't use this scene. It would give the movie a whole different feel. Sucker Punch was more of an action movie, not a musical. The movie was more serious and action, adding this scene would be scrambling too many things together. Although, it was a great scene, I feel they made the right decision on cutting this one out. It would have gave the movie a WHOLE different feel in my opinion and it just would turn away viewers who wanted to see this movie because of the action scenes.

Honestly I still think this is female empowerment. The girls had to put up with this shit (and unfortunately situations like this still exist today) and they fought to try and escape it. And you know, what all the impractical outfits in video games and movies just goes to show: Girls can do anything guys can do but in heels and a skirt. And if you ask me, that's takes a hell of a lot more skill. (Granted it would be nice to see a girl kicking ass in a practical outfit for once...)

@SabribriRei I get what you're trying to say, but in the fantasy land fighting in heels and a skirt doesn't show empowerment, it just makes things harder. If they were dressed practically in the fighting segments and like prostitutes as that's how the gangers viewed them in reality it would be quite understandable, but having them dress in lingerie for every scene of the movie shows that the girls are looked down upon as sexy and that's it even when they're "kicking ass".

Seeing this scene, I'm really surprised they cut it. It gives a good illustration the actual happenings of the club and what Babydoll had to do before her plots. It would have given it a nice flow if this was the only non-backstage scene they showed since most of the rest of the movie took place outside of the clubs open hours. It gives us an illustration on what the girls had been put through with having to put themselves out there and make to look risque and why they wanted to escape.

It was, but the world she created was based off of real people in the asylum and she gave them substance and character. A will and desire for freedom that was centered on this brothel, where the want to be free was to escape exploitation. This was the exploitation that had been through that Babydoll decided to exist in the club.

Kind of a like Burlesque. and they are trying to escape, but when Babydoll dance, they go into a different world where there is their guider who helps them. to find those 4 objects. but eventually sweet pea ends up escaping and babydoll stays behind.
