My favorite Dr who story ever is "Dalek" it's just an amazing story and it was the first Dr who story that truly introduced me to the Daleks and definitely my favorite Dalek story and Christopher Eccleston story.
my second favorite Dr who story would be "The caves of Androzani" my favorite story of my favorite Doctor (Peter Davison) just wished he stayed longer :( but still an amazing story and the best regeneration story ever.
I think it's either Utopia or Blink, or the immpossible planet. I like Blink cause of the scare factor Utopia because of the master, captains jacks return, the concept of the end of the universe and the music, And than the impossible planet because of the characters the devil and a real test of the doctor and roses loyalty in peril.
actually I forgot about the family of blood and human nature which was actually the best episode in my opinion god I loved series 3 best doctor second best companion best stories etc. etc. etc.
The way the writers use words is -of course - one of the most important aspects of Doctor Who.
Also it is one of the reasons Doctor who is such a big success.
In the episode midnight instead of having a monster chase the Doctor around London or have a big monster trying to eat everyone, the writer uses the power of words to instil fear into the viewer.
A monster that copies you. Becomes you. Then makes you follow. Genius
The performance David Tennant gave was phenomenal.
The way mickeleh explained it was very interesting to.
I think midnight is one of the best because the Doctor is always going on about how brilliant humans are, and it turns out that humans are the monsters in this story.
-I know there was some other kind of creature, but what I mean is that the humans were the ones ready to turn on each other and kill anyone when they were threatened. -
Oooh favorite Doctor Who story, that's a hard question xD
It's too hard to choose from the new series'. I love a lot of the episodes in Season 2 because they're funny, but Season 4 has some great story-lines. I think the episode I enjoy watching most is the season 4 ender (Journey's End) because all of my favorite characters come back. Blink is a good episode too though. The first time I saw it it scared me shitless LOL xDD
i don't dislike you barry, but i find it offensive that you are spending your time making videos to put on youtube when you could be spending that time trying to get a job.
Mate I have 2 jobs now, one of them is voluntary working with charity and the other one I start today.
I have been looking for work for ages but it is really difficult to find work because of the recession and I have seen friends lose their jobs because of it.
If you think Im full of it why do you watch my videos?
I rather have a job, I dont do Youtube videos for the money, I do them as a hobby in my spare time.
"well one of the things i love about it is the way he uses words, erm...."
"ahh...excellent...that's cool"
I honestly do not believe how much shite that is. Barry, you are so full of shit. Just get a real job so that you can pay tax and start to pay back the money that the government, and therefore the hard working folk, have spent on your video games.
I loved Human Nature and the Family of Blood. It's such an amazing episode, and I also loved the outtakes of that episode as well.
My favorite story is a tie between The Stolen Earth/Journey's End and The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances. I love both of those story arcs so much, I just can't decide which I love most.
Ive only seen about 8 episodes, i'm going to buy some boxsets and watch them, but so far I like the one where its sort of a parallel universe and rose' dad is still alive and everyone has strange earpieces, and the one where they go to the day of the queens inauguration and there's like a woman inside the TV? it was the ones where it was David Tenant. another great video barry
strangely your intro music reminds me of vintage night club music today, lol. Some of my favorite episodes are Blink and Silence in the Library. Great video once again Barry :)
The season 3 DVD with that epsiode has an easter egg, which is of course the easter egg featured in the episode of the Doctor reading his part of the conversation.
If you go to the scene selction menu and go through to the second page of the blick episode, you can then select the "Blink" title in the upright hand corner.
I don't think its my favourite but I really loved 'the end of the world' the second ep in season 1.
Just because it really struck a chord with me when they go from having just (not) wintessing the destruction of earth, to being back in the present where people are around and its all still to come, and all Rose wants is chips
I agree with you Barry, Mine also has to be Human Nature/The family of blood I thought that was so creepy!, then probably it would be Blink(the one with the weeping angels). I also like Tooth and Claw, The sound of Drums, Bad wolf, the girl in the fireplace and the Idiots Lantern just to name a few!
Hmm, good question Barry... I don't watch all too much Dr Who, mainly because I'm not a massive fan of the Doctor character himself. So, of the few episodes that I have seen, I quite like the one with the weeping angels, largely because he didn't feature in it very much. Plus it was quite a tidy piece of storytelling.
My favorite Dr who story ever is "Dalek" it's just an amazing story and it was the first Dr who story that truly introduced me to the Daleks and definitely my favorite Dalek story and Christopher Eccleston story.

It's so hard to choose...mmm
I thought midnight was absolutely brilliant.
The way mickeleh explained it was very interesting to.

-I know there was some other kind of creature, but what I mean is that the humans were the ones ready to turn on each other and kill anyone when they were threatened. -

I didnt like blink or the empty child.
Most Doctor Who stories have some kind of plot development or character development and a good moral message.
E.g. In the Fires of Pompeii Donna changes the Doctors mind about fixed deaths.
Midnight, one of the messages is that Humans can be the monsters.
New Earth, Rose and the Doctor kiss.
I feel that the only point of the episodes Blink and The empty child was to be scary and I dont like that, when somethings scary for no point.

I loved the outtakes in them as well.
The Stolen Earth/Journey's End was a brilliant way to end the last series.
The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances is a brilliant two parter that had a great story.
BarryAldridge 2 years ago
In terms of a single episode, I would have to go for Blink (the one with the angel statues). For a story arc, has to be John Simm as the Master.
makcheekan 2 years ago
Great choices mate. I love John Simm as the Master.
