  • The rhetoric, manipulation, and snake oil sold in this video is scary. We're headed for a dark period of American style scare tactics in our Canada.

  • "We respectfully point out that the opposition parties, who together constitute a majority in the House, have been in close consultation. We believe that, should a request for dissolution arise this should give you cause, as constitutional practice has determined, to consult the opposition leaders and consider all of your options before exercising your constitutional authority."

Stephen Harper, in a letter to the Governor-General, 9 September 2004

  • Conservative nutjobs are going to ruin this country oh wait no they've already done it WHERE'S YOUR ARCTIC FLEET THTA HARPER PROMISED YOU NOW YOU GODDAMN FASCISTS

  • It's still sad when people like the guy at 0:29 keep using the same old line of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq as a battle to protect our democratic freedoms.

Al-Qaeda doesn't have the military capacity to invade the world. I thought we were there to help little girls go to school safely? It seems like the reason is changing every week.

  • What's also sad is when NDP leader Jack Layton described Canada's role in WWII as "peacekeepers," when we were actually Allies who FOUGHT Nazi Germany!

  • If we had no military, they would be able to take us on. We're not just defending freedom for ourselves, but bringing it to Afghans.

  • Word is that CPC will be forming an almost-coalition with the NDP and Bloc.

    lol...

  • in my university books , it s legal to make coalition in a confederation . , if u don t want this rules break them , or respect coaliton !!!!

  • Wow, Stockwell Day is probably the biggest embarassment that Canada has ever had. The words being used in these speeches are so poisonous. I feel bad for that guy who kept on getting surounded by anti-Coalition croonies, good to see someone stand their ground for what they know is right. Harper and his supporters are the biggest threat to freedom and democracy in Canada

  • Really the big threat of allowing the democratically elected to govern the former Generalissimo Dion of the New Undemocratic Liberal Bloq or NULB want to untie to oust the current government from power during economic troubles no more than two months after an election, to allow the Bloq to hold power of veto and the survival of the Government. What have the conservatives done to your freedoms besides increase them you are so ridiculously misinformed, I pity you and all other ignorant liberals.

  • You are the biggest threat to democracy by siding with an unelected group of power-hungry, irresponsible, tri-partisan minority parties! Imagine the path to destruction as the Bloc and the NDP rape the treasury to get one chance to further their selfish causes! ...Veterans made this country possible and that's why they're angry at that puke! That old guy most likely saw many friends die in the name of Democracy! ...The coalition is undemocratic! Think before you speak loser!

  • The coalition is dead! For all those REAL Canadians that helped it happen, congratulations! Go get yourself that beer! Jack Layton will be crying in his!

  • U know whos not Anti-Separtatist Coalition Deal ? Mr Stockwell Day , Today I read in the Vancouver Province , that in year 2000 , the Conservatives , Canadian Alliance and the Bloc made a back room deal , that if Chretien was too win a minority , they would attempt to form a coalition , and they decided Mr Day , would be the coalition PM , Mr Day denies it all , So don't believe anything James Moore or My Day says , or any other Conservative MP , article is on page A3

of the Province Dec 8 08

  • Check your facts you are dead wrong

  • No Iam not wrong , I read it in the paper

So maybe the paper is wrong

    But I don't think so

  • Yes as it happens the paper was wrong and later blasted by the NDP and Conservatives for libel

  • LOL fuckin gay

  • lol yes you are

  • I'm anti coalition too. If Stephan Dion & Jack Layton thought Stephen Harper was doing such a bad job as Prime Minister and was bad for the country they would've made a deal before or during the election. Instead they wait until after they lose the elction and make a deal with a sepratist party. This shows how desperate for power Layton & Dion are amd that they're sore losers.

  • Hey, there is even a Sarah Palin video on the right side related subject!

  • yeah! we're so great that we won't accept a

    vote of the majority!

We don't even understand the parliamentary system!

We don't even want the people to be represented by the majority they elected!

Oh yes, and depending on the parties, we even think the deputy should be paid or not, according to what they think... free speech is really outdated!

We want to grab onto the power and stay there, no matter what!

    Ideology before democracy!

Wooo! Can't wait to be flamed... :P

  • The people (and the Harper propaganda machine) who claim that the formation of the coalition is 'undemocratic' are the ones who _don't understand the parliamentary system_.

  • Some would say that there was a 38% vote for Harper and 62% for "the rest of us." "The rest of us" apparently includes 10% of the popular vote that went to the Bloc Quebecois. How many of the "rest of us" would side with a party that advocates the breakup of the country? Further facts:

74% did not vote for Dion, 81% did not vote for Layton, 90% did not vote for Duceppe, and 93% did not vote for May. Dion isn't welcomed as leader of his own party, not to mention the country.

  • How many things does Harper have to do to show that he's NOT interested in 'putting Canada first' before people _see_ it?

he STARTED this whole crisis and now people are _supporting_ him for it? mind boggling.

  • Thank you for putting together this video montage. Absolutely superb!

Incidentally, though the CBC HQ was just a block away, I never saw them. Did you?

  • How many people have turned out for this? If people do not believe the way you believe just ignore them and keep walking...I think it is good that Canadians are standing up to this...it is great...it has nothing to do with Conservatives it has everything to do with Democracy (freedom to choose)...Many Canadians (including the NDP, Liberal, and Yes even the Bloc) did not vote for the Coalition.

  • So are you saying that there are people who voted for any of these opposition parties that voted for them to support Harpers economic update? Which would be the betrayal? And if it is in the interest of the opposition's constituents to defeat the government in a vote of confidence, then it is only responsible to offer an alternative government rather than go to an election and potentially hand even more power to the conservatives. A coalition is the best thing to come out of Ottawa in ages.

  • Thanks for brings us the new Orphangordie.

  • Reform Party Conservatives are a new breed of stupid.

  • LOL @ Stockwell. What a tool.

  • Out with Harper and his Reform Party fascists. In with the New Progressive Coalition.

  • someone mentioned the cbc: the cbc makes me sick, they support this coalition 100 percent.
