  • Absolutely fantastic, I have only been playing for 2 years, and that performance has to be my aim. Ian Anderson would be well pleased with that.

  • Damn, I applauded !

  • Howdy Andrea

man your guitar playing is out of this world

now how about doing jack n the green

and to old to rock roll but to young to die i'd tell you to keep up the good work

  • Your amazing :) :)

  • You did great justice to a very great tune. You are pretty damn good.

  • Ian Anderson said he took up the flute because he couldn't play guitar like Clapton. I'd like to see Clapton play this.

Massive props to you on this. It's amazing.

  • I love this song man, exellent job

  • This is absolutely flawless compared to the Tull version, keep it up!

  • thank you!!!

  • of of the best acoustic arangements ever .........amazing track !

  • Excellent, perfect! really nice work.

    congratulations!

  • Bloody brilliant Andrea - bumps Jack Hicko's 4 1/2 star version by half a star. Im interested to know what guitar you play in this clip.

Looking forward to your version of Velvet Green.

  • Holy crap,thats insane!

  • This is really your masterpiece...so awesome!!!

If I would live near to you, probably I would bind you and me together with handcuffs...telling you, you're only going to be free again, if you teach me how to play this song. I mean I started this song, but there are some really difficult parts. Does there exist any Tull Songbook including tabs you can recommend?

    Thanks Andrea :)

  • : O!!! i need to change my underwear after this... loved it : D

  • great work man.... great is the word....

  • WOAH! Inimaginably great. Really.

  • Whoo, shit! 5 stars, no doubt.

  • You kick ass!

  • have you the tabs please ? thanks

  • Bravo, I thought Jack Hicko did this well but yours is even better! The note bend is what stands out as the TRUE way to play it. Wow!

  • You are a masterclass in playing Tull classics! I can learn from watching these clips. A pure joy! Thanks for sharing this with the world.

  • Beautiful!!

  • Sempre meglio Andrea!Non so dove arriverai di questo passo...Complimenti vivissimi!

  • I've just been going through your videos, and i'd like to tell you that it is a great joy for me seeing you play the Tull. Not only very well played but also very soulful. Thank you very much for your videos.

Whoever plays the Tull like that is a good man in my book. Peace be with you brother! (And keep'em coming!)

  • Sounded exactly like the album!!!

  • Martin Barre and Ian Anderson in one! Excellent!

  • wow :D :D :D stupendo

  • i enjoy the feeling you put into playing, i want that in everything i play and listen to.

  • perfection. ;] you kinda have a frank zappa/serj tankian look going. very fucken awesome!

  • frank zappa look? my god! chicca (o chicco?), ma ci vedi o sei cieca/o? frank zappa, che dio l'abbia in gloria, era brutto come la fame! andrea è bello! :-) suvvia! non diciamo boiate :-D

  • Very f*cking good!

  • Excellent!!! I would like to make two requests. Bad eyed and loveless and cold wind to valhalla

  • Do you play gigs somewhere? Spain? Italy? You're the future of Tull!

  • I thought I was watching a younger Ian Anderson there. Dam you're good. I like your way of playing it, better than Ian's. Very excellent entertainer you are. Thanks.

  • Thank you so much! I love the song and I love your rendition. You make it look like you're playing effortlessly. You put a nice bit of emotion into it. Bravissimo!

  • Not Bad

  • Excellent playing! I am already subscribing to Jack & Silverhamer, now I am a subscriber of you as well. I have a few Tull songs myself (on drums), I will keep making more.

  • Man that's amazing. Very nice tribute!

Congrats man, you did an wonderfull job. I love Jethro and i love Ian, i was listen to this song before saw your video, all i can say is that the passion, the feeling was the same, you really get into the spirit of the song.

  • Well done indeed - what tuning are you in? Do you have it tabbed out perchance, I am determined to learn this piece - very inspiring performance, thank you...

  • D A D G A D...this is the tuning.

Sorry..I don't have tab! It's all in my brain. You can see "Salamander 2" (my other more recent video)...It's better for learn to play this song...also the final correct...and all the other parts. Enjoy!

    Andrea.

  • wow, brother, that was great! Congrats!

  • Well played, bard. I enjoyed your inclusion of the bend on the lydian part. Brilliant.

  • Bravo! Lots of greats look at what they are doing on the fretboard. The person who criticized you is what we call a DOUCHEBAG. If their opinion mattered at all, they would shut their mouth and listen. By the way, I was watching the fret hand the whole time -- I don't care if you wear a tutu and a Hitler mustache -- the guitar work stands on its own.

  • Dear friends of YOUTUBE...I've got no problems with the friend "VideOutlawz" because he only said his idea about the way of making video on YOUTUBE. In every instance I prefer play without think what I'm doing but I always respect someone else's ideas!:-)

  • Well done, never mind the criticism about looking at the neck. This is a tough accoustic and you did it very well. I dont play guitar myself but can recognize someone wha can. That is right up there with Hicko. Cant compare it with Tull but I have never heard them playing it live. Tull forever.

  • Are you kidding? Of course you're not! Absolutely outstanding! Need I say more? Yes, just watch those fingers fly! Man, you are amazingly good.

  • Hi,

Nicely played. Does anyone have a link to the tab for this song. I did have it some time ago but I have not been able to find it again (and I am not good enough to work it all out from the Cd ;).

  • Perfectly executed but quit looking at the neck.

  • Thanks a lot man...regarding my looking at the neck...sorry...but I'm not a star and I don't need to watch the audience in the camera! :-)

  • If you weren't playing for the camera, then we'd of not seen this video. Point is loosen up a little. You don't have to play the rock star, but it can't be said this wasn't for the entertainment of others. And for my entertainment, I prefer seeing people relax a little bit. Still a very good rendition of the song. My criticism need not detract from that fact.

  • Thank you for your criticism. Probably it was the second or the third time I played this song...and for me it was very difficult to play it...this video was like an improvvisation...I actually play this song better with all the right parts and also with the right final. In the other videos I always try to watch the camera. I'll try to do my best in the next video. Sorry for my english. Probably I'm not able to explane in the right way what I would like to say! Best wishes dear friend.

  • I am enthused! very nice sound, good taste, with passion and perfectly played. Enjoyed very much listening to it and watching it.

  • That my friend was amazing,i`ve just brought a guitar ,i recon i should be able to play that song by about 2099!

  • ...bravo¡¡ bravo¡¡ incredible performance.

  • Ohhhh my God!!! That was awesome!!! Perfect Tull! I plays some tull too, take a look.

    Five stars and favorite!!!

  • Thanks a lot for your comment! This is not a competition...but I invite my YOUTUBE friends Marcelo & Jack (and me too of course!) to work about this song because it's very hard to play it well...Marcelo did a great job with normal tuning but I think that there are some parts that are not in "tempo" (the first part for example) and some other that are really different (the part before the vocal for example).Come on guys! It's a hard work! :-)

  • Anyone who performes this song is 1) talented 2) brave, and 3) a dedicated Tull fan. The Jack Hicko version sounded the most like Ian, the Marcelo version the most techincally correct, and your version the most passionate. Put them all together and you get the Jethro Tull version. You are all great in my book! Keep the Tull songs coming!

  • Well put, I couldn't have said it better myself...Takes a lot to match Ian and the boys!!

  • :-) Thank you very much! I'm very glad to be the acoustic guitarist of Beggar's Farm (the official Italian Jethro Tull Tribute Band). Please visit andreavercesi com & beggarsfarm net

We regular play with Clive Bunker (the first historical Tull drummer) and before I joined the band Beggar's Farm played with Ian Anderson, Glenn Cornick, Mick Abrahams, Dave Pegg, David Palmer, John Evans, Jonathan Noyce and so on. It's a beautiful thing! Very amazing!

  • Congratulations I liked this version, but the original sound Ian play with normal tune except the 6ª string in D. And there is an other guitar with DADGAD. Than my introdution is correct I heard so much this song and the introduction is right listen the original and compare and play the original in modal slow of media player program.

  • Thanks a lot...I know you are right Marcelo. I play this song with the Open tuning DADGAD because in this way I can play "SALAMANDER" with just one guitar by myself. This is only a way to play this song! W ITULLIANOS! ;-)

  • Wonderful! Wish I could play that well...

  • Thanks a lot Spanish friend! I know that it's not a perfect version (there are some details...some little differences...the final part for example...details that I've already arranged! ) but I like this video because in this performance I played with heart and I was in a very good mood...italian wine...good company...don't you know?! :-)

  • No!!! Maybe do not be perfect, but it's very very good!!

And more if it is adorned by good wine and good company.

I am a great fan of JT, I love "Salamander": I have been charmed with your video.

From Catalonia, congratulations for the interpretation!!

(my Catalan & Spanish is good, but my english is very poor...)

  • Grandioso!!

  • Thanks a lot Jim!

  • Great tune. Flawlessly played. Brilliant stuff Andrea, give us more.

  • ma no! credevo fossi Bertoncelli in incognito :D

  • dai, sono FZF! :)

  • well, it's me, you caught me, mr. ghellowhatever ;)

I too know who you are...and we both know Andrea is brilliant, don't we?

  • ghellogm...my name is Andrea Vercesi :-) Don't forget!

    Bye.

  • hey huntinggirl are you who I think you are? :)

  • purrrr...fect! the best version around! love!

  • Grande Vercea Andresi! :)
