  • @drummer1155

No, it was brother who set this into motion.

  • Bad people do lots of crazy and scary things. I don't want to use personal information, but here it goes. I have lights in both the entry way and the backyard to ward off robbers and other sets of bad people everywhere.

  • @missjerricalee Your own grandmother too?? Wow, I really feel sorry for you. It must have taken a long time to get over it

  • 4 years??? he's gonna wait 4 years, and then go rob and kill more ppl

  • @annr8

Those were the plea bargains they accepted by the DA to avoid trial and additional jail time.

  • omg, this is intense.

  • @DimeraFan28

It was actually more violent than portrayed on tv scaled down so that the audience could follow what occurred.

  • @SCHELHORN1 how was it more violent.

  • That was pretty close.

  • @soccom8341576

Yes, only a few seconds as he raised his gun to shoot us and heard the sheriffs outside yelling at the his buddies to drop their weapons and get down.

  • They shoulda gotten peep-wholes, but ya no, it was the 80s

  • @SpeedStackerFan90

We are usually more careful but we expected company that night as my husbands mother had died that morning.

  • so the man who went through the back was not captured?????? PLEASE ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Someone broke into my home while I was working an overnight shift. When I returned the next morning, my house was trashed and my music system was missing. It's a terrible feeling to have your home broken into. It is a very real violation that takes a long time to get over. I bought a gun and for a long time, when I came home, I would check to make sure no one was in my home. I'm so glad this family was rescued from these horrible robbers. Four years is a joke for a crime like this.

  • @Jessecraft1954

Yes, but that is our system. I suppose if they had killed us they would of got 7 years here in California.

  • hey i like your hair mam by sydney 4012

  • Anyone who points a gun at a baby and threatens to shoot deserves to be tortured in horrible ways.

  • dude if those dudes came to my house i could kill them in one kick for real!!!!

  • here's some (allusions) for this segment: some of the scenes if you watch the 1903 western "the great train robbery" match some scenes in this segment.

  • @gregorkrause

The robbery was scaled down for television, many other events that occurred in the house were not shown. For one, there were 2 safes and after opening one safe and getting the cash they got greedy and wanted the second safe opened...this resulted in the police being able to respond and set up outside.

  • This one always scared me. It still does in a way. I guess because the other guy was still at-large. I used to not be able to think 9pm without this popping in my head.

What was their response time? That's always been a concern of mine.

  • @chrisz71

From the time of the call to the police arriving 16 minutes. The robbers made an error in wanting a second safe which only contained our documents opened. Because of their greed...it allowed the police time to respond and set up in front of the house. The back of the house had not been secured which allowed the one robber to escape when he heard the police out in front of the house. .

  • thats why u should always have a peep hole..because they never would even made it inside my house

  • @steven2be2003

It would not of done any good they had the house key too!

  • Why did they take rescue 911 off the air?

  • the shelhorns need an extreme home makeover lol before another residential robbery happens like a BRINKS system.

  • He shouldve looked to see who was at the door before opening it; he just opened the door like he was expecting someone.

  • @85701639

We were, my husbands mother had died that morning of the same day we were robbed.

  • Isn't it ridiculous that the operator called and asked if there's a problem? He actually expected to hear the family to say they're being robbed in front of the robbers?

If I'm that woman, I would have left the phone on and put it far away from the robbers because the robbers might be able to hear the operator's voice.

And why didn't the cops walk to the window and look inside? They stayed so far away from the house. The victims might have been killed already.

  • @tinjmail

There was no time to move the phone. Within seconds of me hanging up a man came in the living room making me move away from the phone as he heard it ringing when the Sheriffs called back. At this moment in time I believed my son had been killed, I did not know that they had tied him up. I could of run out of the house but I choose to stay with my family and make the call.

  • I am happy that they made this show...and the newer virsion "call 911" so we know what to do if this happens.

  • A few unanswered things here:

How did the robbers know his name beforehand..how did they know about his safe...how did they know how much money was in it.

    That was never explained.

  • inside job...someone divulged too much info

  • I'm guessing they were employees of his. They were probably having a dispute with him over salaries. Maybe George fired them as a result, and they decided to seek revenge. Who knows?

  • oh yeah i bet they were former employees , btw i like how shatner says they knew his name in a soft voice.

  • Very good theory Dorvel..

  • i'm glad the robbers let's say employees of his didn't set the house on fire.

  • @DorvellTStewart

No it wasnt our employees we have great employees that are very loyal, it was a family member.

  • there was 145 000$

  • this segment/robbery is great for an unsolved mysteries episode since we don't know how the robbers knew his name.

  • @happy7117 Also one robber had the keys to a lock box in the safe!

  • @happy7117 he was set up, by who, ?????????? idk

  • @happy7117 At 4:22 William Shatner explains that George, the homeowner, had been set up. The robbers knew his name, knew about the safe and the money in it.

  • @happy7117 that's true, but it was probably a family friend who helped set it up or maybe he was a stalker.

  • @happy7117

My brother orchestrated this event in my life.

  • Why would you keep $145,000 on hand in your own home? like that's just asking to be set up. I'm going to say that the three subjects were former disgruntled employees of George's company, probably wern't getting paid enough, so they decided to stick it to him. The probably took his keys got them cut, and returned his own.

  • @PDMcG1091

Again, it was never any of our employees involved in this robbery.

  • Instead of saying "Don't try it you'll die now" I would have said "Die now or Die Later, your call"

  • 0:53 this year i dressed up as him, the robber who says "who else is here"?

  • O_o

  • @gregorkrause

that was an actor ...the robber was a dirtbag.

  • @SCHELHORN1 yes the actors played the robbers since i'm sure the real ones were in jail.

  • The poor family must have been so scared! Seriously, I'd rather have my house catch on fire than have intruders break in!

  • god its hard to wonder how those cops didnt hold those men while the family beat them senseless

  • @TheSarge75

I count my blessings that the police did not shoot my husband thinking he

may have been an intruder when he ran out of the house with a gun.

  • At 6:08 the cop was searching the father and that pissed me off! If someone is robbing you, of course you take out a gun. The cops treated him like he was an armed suspect. He had the right to bear arms no matter how many cops were already there! ( I realize the cops mistaked him for one of the crooks since he was running around with a gun). But still, they should have left him alone. I would have looked through the peep hole and gave all 3 guys a suprise shotgun blast!

  • the police officer didn't know he was armed and you have to treat an armed person as a suspect

  • @Beechcraft01

My husband would of been shot had I not followed him out the door with the baby. The Sheriffs on site told me that if I had exited a few seconds later it could of been a different ending to the story.

  • The cops in California are different from those where I live now. The ones here aren't as paranoid about getting killed, and they don't seem as ready to use their weapon. Not that they don't worry about personal safety at ALL, but they don't seem concerned about it to the same degree.

I don't think they would have said, "Don't try it, you'll die, now."

I have a friend who used to work for LAPD, and he acted the same as the police in the segment.

    He's a good guy though.

  • @vickiormindyb

Its my belief in seeing my husband grab his 9mm and throw the clip in it that he meant to take care of business with the robbers who left with the money.

  • Pointing a gun at a baby is lower than a snake's belly.

  • @vickiormindyb

What the movie doesnt show is that I had pink eye in both eyes and the baby had a fever and ear infection. Coupled with my husbands mother dying that day and us going to the hospital for our health we were not expecting any of this and were totally taken by surprise.

  • 4 years in prison is not enough, he should have gotten life in prison.

  • maybe not life, but maybe 10 years...at least...

  • He didn't kill anyone, so four years is fair. I have to say fair because that's the way our gay ass "law" works.

  • @ShadowoOfBlood Its plain that society is degraded to the point where the intent is clear and the threat is clear. They should have be executed immediatley to protect future victims.

  • @translucentorb

The two men who got four years were in their early 20s and apparantly had met the older suspect in a bar and were seduced into this scheme. While I cant forgive them I do realize that young people sometimes use very bad judgement. Another factor was that they were high on alchohol and drugs at the time making this a very scary situation.

  • Intentions - in this case multiple murders - should be key. What they actually accomplished should be irrelevant.

  • If they had the keys, it doesn't make sense why they asked the homeowner to open the safe.

Why didn't they just take the damn keys out and open it themselves?

  • @vickiormindyb

Because they were hoping we would open it and it would not let us know that we were set up. My husband continued to maintain he did not have the keys at our home. The keys to the cash boxes were not really the issue it was the combination that they could get to work on the safe.

  • the guy should have looked to see who it was first and then not have answered since he did not know them

  • There isn't any lower scum than someone who will threaten to shoot an innocent baby.

I wonder how he sleeps at night.

  • Those burgulars should have gotten 20 years or more. I would have slaughtered that one who tied the boy up with duck tape with my chainsaw or buzzsaw if it was my kid. A lesson learned here was NEVER EVER keep large sums of money at home; use the bank or credit union.

  • What makes me really curious is how did they know who George was, and how did they know to have a set of keys to George's safe? Part of me wonders whether or not these men could've been former employees of George's. Your thoughts?

  • What kind of losers would scare a baby and make him cry?

  • today cops really dont fuck around they are more serios

  • lov this show its so sad that ppl ar so cold hearted robbin inesent ppl

  • Four years for doing all that?!

IMO there should be a law on the books that makes you get more time when you terrorize people.

Just b/c you didn't shoot them doesn't mean you haven't changed their lives forever when you terrorize them.

Nobody has the right to do that to another human being.

  • 4 years? what justice!?

  • ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫ music to my ears that they are a o.k.

  • 4 years in prison he should have gotten 24 years for something like that man even today there still to easy on criminals

  • no, should have gotten death

  • @jakesaintsrow123 I completely agree with you! 4 years is NOTHING! Considering it was likely they were going to kill the family after stealing $145,000!

  • @umyea21

I dont believe the 2 younger robbers knew the intent of the older robber, he made them leave and then it became clear when he put us on the couch what was going to occur. My husband asked him to tell us who set us up before he shot us ...the robber was about to tell us when he heard the police yelling at the 2 robbers who had exited the home seconds earlier.

  • @jakesaintsrow123 24 years ??? you joking.. I think it should be Life in prison

  • @jakesaintsrow123 How much you wanna bet he worked out some kind of deal for a reduced sentence, you know rolled over on the other guy or something?

  • @jakesaintsrow123 And we pay for them to stay in there. They get all their health care for free but someone who has a legitimate part-time job doesn't qualify for health care.

    That's some large BS.

  • why in the world would you keep that much money in your house. Very, very stupid.

  • umm , because you need money to buy things dnt ya ? Duh (!)

  • @humanatlas09

At the time getting good funds with checks was not happening (bad economy) so we virtually had to cash checks on the spot to make payroll.

  • this aint god-damn it

  • i think this is the episode i described in the other video..my internet connection is slow, so ill see.

  • 1:39 could place the helicopter rescuer jumping out of helicopter.

  • 1:38 matches with audio in intro.

  • @gregorkrause

Interesting that you noticed that....Yes they play my original call with my voice in the intro to the show. We were the second 911 episode to air. We were preempted from our original air date due to the San Francisco earthquake and so it took 2 additional months before our show was re-aired.

  • it is good to see and now thing that can help you

  • Oh well, He didn't even looked before opening the door

  • 1:34 would be good in intro.

  • Comment removed

  • i think he did

  • The husband should have looked to see who it was first before anwsering the door.

  • my son.

    hes in his bedroom.

    you can go kill him,

    its ok.

ill be at the chinese resturant.

    you want antyhing?

  • that's not the actual quote here because no chinese restaurant is mentioned here.

  • Your so dumb.

    I was joking.

  • yeah i know.

  • hahaaa sarcasm is fun xD

    my math teacher loves it.

    lmao.

  • @ellabie

My son had been sent to bed it was his bedtime.

  • awesome videos

  • When you see the intro when you hear "I'm robbed i can't" they should've replaced the rescuer jumping out of copter with the officer waving hands as in this segment.

  • 1:16 sounds like a dog whining.

  • 0:04 screen fades to black which is unusual for this segment, segments don't black out like that.

  • 7:07 there is no "Next" preview nor animated firetruck which the segment is a fire docu.

  • 4:54 Is a scene i painted

  • That's pretty psycho man.

  • btw the way 5:24 is used in episode #108 the "put the gun down quote", "Miami plainclothes cops docu.

  • I painted the scene at 4:54.

  • 1:40 is in intro.

  • 1:34 is in intro.

  • At 0:05,0:06 is what I consider a different dispatch center because of the posters and stuff and it looks like theres a water bottle machine behind him.

  • 0:01,0:02,0:03,0:04, is my favorite part of this segment.

  • hi allgood2000 here's what I also noticed with this segment, the screen fades to black after the extra music is played.

  • Ha ha this year for halloween i'll be the guy with gun at 0:53

  • should have a door peep

  • there should've been a special halloween episode with this segment and 2 kids up a tree, baby chokes on apple lol.

  • where's the promo for this episode?, it's gone suddenly?

  • did gorge go to prsion the polcie fort he wa susbet tooi dont understand wuy did they tell gorge to drop the gun he was tryin cath the berglers i hope gorge was aloud to go back in side the houes did get crage or did they lit him go that time it wasent gorges fort he the broglers wear sitll out tear write backpls tel me wot hapend after wean he got to put his hands wean he did nothin rong gorge dident new the police was tear tell me wot hapend after

  • no remember in "Arlington" from the Pilot episode Buddy was briefly handcuffed but george wasn't because the police knew they weren't the badguys.

  • wow you can't spell can you

  • why would George go to prison when he was the victim? The police for a moment were confused because he came out of the house with a gun thats why they checked him

  • @xulababe

No George did not go to jail, they uncuffed him after verifying what was occurring and who every one was that was in custody.

  • just before the boy's arms are taped it sounded like a whining dog.

  • btw the police officers running to the scene can be referenced to the great train robbery 1903 as the cowboys on horseback race to the woods to catch the badguys.

  • what's that thing on the carpet just before george opens the door, it looks like a child's little tent thing?

  • hi allgood you should mix the intro with the segments we hear from the intro.

  • When I was little I was puzzled at the "i'm robbed I can't" quote because I thought it was from an unused segment but now I know the answer, (this segment).

  • hi Allgood the part I told you about where the gun is pointed at a baby is at 0:53 that's what I remembered from the America's health network's airing of 9-1-1- where he says Who else is here?

  • the dim lights and darkened living room to me makes this a veeerrrrry suspenseful segment along with the (Robber music)during the segment.

  • if I had a special computer program I would use the policecar opening from this segment and insert it to later and 6-7 season segments.

  • where do you get the episodes from

  • I really hope they catch the other guy soon

  • yeah, and kill him

  • @anamallover

The other guy was apprehended a few years later by the Sheriffs Fugitive Team. He was in Coos Bay Oregon. Because the warrant had expired a new warrant had to be issued and signed by the Governor for extradiction to California. While this was occurring a Judge in Coos Bay Oregon allowed him to make bond and he split the state before being extradited back to California to be held accountable. He is currently at large and there is no doubt in my mind this is not his first rodeo.

  • @SCHELHORN1 Were you in any part of this story?

  • @SCHELHORN1

why do you refer to your brother as a different person? I hope they catch him.

P.S. the actor who plays him kind of looks like Saddam Hussein dont you think

  • Btw I decorated my livingroom with the following signs that are in this segment in the Dispatch center, Computer,Wanted,Sho-Di.

  • I think that guy was an idoit. He shouldn't have had his safe in his house in the first place. If he hadn't had that safe in that house then those robbers wouldn't have got into that house and terrorized that man and his family.

  • @DimeraFan28

i dissagree... when your own brother betrays you and puts you in danger of dying they are only family members biologically and not by choice.

  • in the disclaimer: whenever possible the actual people involved have helped us reconstruct the events as they happened, this is a perfect example.

  • In the earlier season 1 episodes (this one included), the end of the disclaimer actually said, "Unless indicated, the actual people involved have helped us reconstruct the events as they happened." I think the changed the disclaimer when Shatner stopped saying in the segment intros that actors were used, or that the actual people were used.

  • do you have that intro that has the "unless Indicated" quote because that sounds new to me.

  • I don't have one that starts all the way from the beginning, but I do I have the part that says "Unless indicated."

  • how do you know this?

  • @allgood2000

The Schelhorn family played themselves in the reactment as well as the San Dimas Sheriffs were also the real people.

The only ones who were actors were the robbers.

  • this is so good

  • How did those bad guys know about his safe, the money, and know his name?

  • Shatner said he was set up by those three bastards...they knew him, his money, the safe, and the keys...

  • shatner didn't use the word bastard though as the safe was opened.

  • I know that, I was just implying those three burglars/robbers were bastards, that's all...

  • shatner seems to be shy of the word "Bastard" in this segment.

  • Shatner can't say that because this show helps everyone learn of what to do in these kinds of situations and learn to communicate on 911 calls...many kids and parents watch this show a lot, and kids can't learn any profanity...

  • in the opening have you noticed the longer music in the animated Baltimore car image in this segment?

  • Yeah, they just played it different...

  • @csifan18

Very True, this was a extremely violent robbery with alot of profanity.

  • That 3rd guy with the blue cap comes out of nowhere at 4:16..what the heck. Where did he come from?

  • is the third rober in jail

  • hiboy91 said "is the third rober in jail"

I think the real question would be "was the third robber ever found?" I have some kind of feeling that the third robber was found.

  • no the real question is "Was the third robber and shot in the head the second he was found?"

  • @hiboy91

No, he has many alias and changes his name often.

  • I did a painting of the scene at 4:56.

  • the part at 3:15 is used for the Promo for this episode.

  • What are they watching on t.v. that pictures are jumping one to another in fast-mode?

  • @gregorkrause

We were not watching what you saw on TV. We were actually watching the show MARRIED WITH CHILDREN when this occurred.

  • just before it cut to the guy who awnsered the phone for the lady it sounded like the baby was laughing at the fact that the guy was gonna get put in jail lol

  • At 0:47 did the robber just say damn it?, he is sure mean and pushy?

  • "put the gun down" quote is used from this segment I wonder if they deleted the scene from the plainclothes docu because it's also used in this segment?

  • you always use a peep hole..and did they ever catch the other guy? i know this is back in the early 90's and its the year 2008 but someone should have his ass in jail by now.

  • God Bless you and your family always Pray together and ask God that is never happens again at leat you are safe but it worked out that the poilce stood outside apparently the people thought when they leave they can getr away well good thingyou grabbed that phone always i mean always have some peep hole or camera on the entrance to the house never open to unexpected guest see what is behind before you open.

  • hey allgood when I saw this the piano version of the opening of this segment wasn't used for America's Health Network airing, it used another soundtrack the one were used to hearing you know na na na na na na na except it was longer like the intro here.
