Advice to you: go to your first con in ears and a tail or something. Homemade fursuits take ALOT ALOT ALOT of work and still take a bit of money. Not only that but I figure it's best to be a spectator your first time more or less.

Last but not least. Alot of home-made fursuits look good enough but there are some pretty bad looking ones too hehe.

Personally? I have my brother to rely on. He always does elaborate costumes for Halloween and I'm doing a partial fur suit or costume.

Too far away. The closest one for me was in the Seattle area, specifically Fife. It was called ConiFur. I think Victoria B.C. came close to having one.
