  • Can't wait to do this to a sony bloggie :) thank you sir!

  • Very cretive man I like the tripod you got there

  • do you have to buy the stepdown ring seperately or is it included with the kenko or macro lenses?

  • does that same lens pack work on Flip Ultra HD?

  • im buying the kenko lenses right now....i dont really have a need for the macro lens but thanks for posting this!!!

  • how much would this all cost?

  • how much would this all cost?

  • i have the same camera and unless you have a goo fisheye hanging off it its not really good for anything much

  • Can you make a video on how you made your Flip mount? It looks sweet!

  • is there anyway i can make the mounting ring removable? i'd still like to be able to use the camera with its underwater housing

  • I don't think so... this is about the best/most secure way to mount a lens on the Flip that I know of. Is there or would there be a way to make clearance for the mounting ring in the underwater/submersible housing? The mounting ring doesn't stick out too far, idk.

Sorry for not being much help but thank-you very much for watching and commenting.

  • @whoisjohnlamb where do you get a mino hd underwater case cause i just got my mino hd and havent found one anywhere pure digital only sells ones for ultra.

  • @whoisjohnlamb you could use velcro to attach the mount, as shown here /watch?v=u9lQHDghP2s

  • @whoisjohnlamb if u use the step up ring u can just remove the lense and the step up rind doesnt get it the way

  • @whoisjohnlamb If you have a flip mino use the underwater thing for the regular flip video so it will fit

  • @whoisjohnlamb check out flip camera diy lens mod - no glue. he pretty much does just that :)

besides, if you screw this up (the way with glue), well ... you're screwed, pretty much, lol.

  • if i do that can i put a opteka fisheye on it.??? and does it work on a kodak zi8

  • First off, thanks for watching and commenting.

I'm not familiar enough with either the opteka lens or kodak to answer your question confidently. I cannot see why it wouldnt work though, just pay close attention to which adapter ring you use (whether it will work of other lenses than just the wideangle one).

Best of luck with the hack/mod; and sorry for not being able to provide any good answers... I gave it a shot though. Take care and thanks for watching.

  • Found both of these @ B&H for a total of somewhere around $75.90; going to order them up for my Flip Mino HD as soon as B&H allows (they are not taking orders until 6PM tonight)

  • this hack/mod makes a world of difference. Its so easy to do and makes the camera able to do so much more than if it were stock (crappy FOV and crappy digital zoom)

  • Thanks for providing pictures of the components in box, that was the one thing I was missing from every other video. =)

  • Don't mention it. Glad it was some help to you.

  • Crazy!

Kinda makes the cam look better.

    Nice ghettopod too xD

  • Thanks for watching and commenting. I think the cam looks kinda badass with the lens stuck on the front. I'm kinda proud of my "ghettopod" (never heard it called that) too. Take care dude.

  • LOVE your vid, Zach! I have an UltraHD here that I borrowed and hope to use this weekend. I'm freaked out by this lens and how easy it can be scratched. Please tell me what capabilities/versatilities this does. You rock! -Roz

  • Thanks Roz for such a nice comment.

The Flips have such a narrow field of view and crappy digital zoom. These downfalls can kind of be remedied with the use of different lenses. The Wide Angle lens I installed , as the name implies, gives a wider view. The Tele lens gives a little optic zoom.

But those Macro lens... I'm so impressed. With them I can really show intricate detail (or try too at least). I just feel that this hack/mod expands what this camcorder can do.

  • I would think so. I can't see how the UltraHD lens is that much difference in size; so the supplied adapter ring should work.

The UltraHD looks pretty cool (especially with the removable AA batteries, bigger screen, and matte finish).

I definitely recommend this mod/hack. Just be careful with the superglue (it could mess up the lens easily). If I can help any other way, let me know. Good luck and thanks for watching/commenting.

  • Great, will this adaptation work on an UltraHD?

  • I thought that's what you were using. The Flip being that small has limitations which can be partially remedied with this hack/mod.

My Native Macro video was only with the +10 Lensbaby Macro Lens. I am really impressed with the Kenko and Lensbaby Lens Kits.

Thanks for watching Paul. Take care...

    ---Zach

  • That centering the adapter ring over the lens was pretty stressful. I'm so happy with the detail I can show in my vids now. This slideshow videos was so much better than my last.

Thanks for watching/commenting. Take care buddy...

    ---Zach

  • Awesome job! It came out much cleaner then mine.
