Finger-picked, with planting it looks like.

@LostMusicalMeanings tremolo is a line of 16th notes (or triplets) in most cases. It can be played with finger-picking too, but requires a lot of practice. I play those with a pick on electric guitar, a lot easier. It's not to be confused with the whammie bar of a guitar though which also is referred to as tremolo or vibrato.
