    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen hi MOM BETTY!!! what type of lean meat would you recommend? thank you

  • @CHINEKEDIIGWEADAMMA In this video the meat I purchased was labeled Eye of Round Roast. You can use Top Round Roast, Bottom Round Roast, or Sirloin Tip Roast.

    --Betty :)

  • hi betty your food looks delish!!i was looking about your electric carving knife and i think my mom used to have one of the very same ones in the late 70s early 80s here in ireland....is it made by G/E general electric by any chance??

  • @cheekyface3 Yes, it is a GE electric knife.

    --Betty :)

  • Should you completely submerse chicken breast(or whatever meat you use) in liquid in the crock pot when using a crock pot?

  • @mytuber81 I almost never add liquid to the crock pot--I let the meat give off its juice, which is pure broth, not watered down broth.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen O ok. One other question, if i put two pieces of boneles skinless chicken breast into the crock pot with afredo sauce, how long would i need to cook it for?

  • @mytuber81 I cook chicken (even as little as 2 or 3 breasts) for 4 hours on HIGH, only adding salt and pepper.

    --Betty :)

  • I am from Atlanta,GA I grew up eating fried Chicken I dont have heart disease I wish people would realise its not so much what you eat but how often I love the accent I have lived in Florida which has a mix of Southern and Northern Accents My Girlfriend is from NJ So Sometimes I feel like I need a translator. LOL

  • I put in carrots and potatoes as well all day and they come out nice and tender

  • very nice betty,i would love to sit down and have that with you, ummmmmmmmmm your hot.

  • @Angelface232 Hi! Here is a video on pot roast done in a crock pot:

    I hope you enjoy it!

    --Betty :)

  • Oh, and one more question, what happens if you use flour instead of cornstarch?

  • @kaylara203 Flour will give you gravy that is thicker and not as light as cornstarch--which looks rather translucent.

    --Betty :)

  • Betty, thank you SO much for this recipe. My boyfriend and I are celebrating a very special occasion on Sunday night, after taking my kids out trick or treating, and this will be absolutely fabulous, as I can leave the crockpot on while we're out for an hour or so ! You are a LIFE saver! One quick question, if I use your method of cooking the vegetables, would red potatoes be okay, and must they be peeled? Just learning how to cook many dishes ..

  • Hi Betty. A nice simple recipe which my wife will no doubt use. I liked the attention to hygeine, unlike most chefs/cooks you actually washed your hands after handling the roast. I cringe at some of the blatant disregard for hand washing, handling any meat should be immediately followed by hand washing not just a wipe with a cloth which is already contaminated with all sorts of germs, usually salmonella. GO!!! Betty Go!!!!!

  • wow this look very easy and good. i have a roast in the freezer... i am for sure gonna use it for this recipe!!! i was wondered how to make homemade gravy!!! thanks so much!!!

  • @hopefulone311 Thanks for your sweet comment! You are very welcome for the recipe.

    --Betty :)

  • if i added vegetables to this recipe do i need to add more water? i mean do the vegetables need to be under the water??

  • @hopefulone311 The way I do vegetables is to cook them separately. When the roast beef is getting near to being done, I add peeled potato halves, carrot sections, and onion wedges to beef broth (from the can). I cook them for about a half hour, and then add frozen peas and cook another 10 minutes or so. Then, I add all of that mixture into the crock pot on top of the roast and let it all be ready to serve and make the gravy at once. When you cook potatoes all day in a crock pot, they get tough.B

  • @bettyskitchen Interesting...I always put the potatoes in all day and they are always tender!

  • YUMMY Recipe I made it and it was SOO god I love your BROWN Noodles with this as well. Thank you for all of your recipes. My family is ever so grateful!!!

  • @TheLasttimetoday Thanks for your great feedback! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • What's the difference between a crock pot and a slow cooker?

  • @canaan1967 I consider them to be the same.

    --Betty :)

  • Betty:

Does it matter what size crock pot we use for this? What size crock pot are you using for this recipe? Thank you as always.

    -Ann

  • @TheMOstang1 It really doesn't matter what size crock pot you use, as long as you can fit your roast in and cover it with the lid. Mine is on the small size, but the only way that affects me is that there is a limit to the size of roast I can cook!

    --Betty :)

  • You have a lot of great videos. I would of cooked that roast for several more hours because I like my meat to be so tender you can't pick it up with a fork. But different strokes for different folks.

  • wow great video!

  • This looks good thanks for the tip!!!

  • This lady is really pretty. Nice recipe too:)

  • Hi Betty, Thank you very much! My husband love it for dinner, yummy! Have a nice this weekend! Smile.

  • Hi Betty! This is my first time to asking you question about beep round eye roast, i am very interest about your cook it look so good! I would like to know how long will it take in pot slower? is 350 temp? So i am going to cook it for dinner today! Let me know. Thanks! Toni

  • Hi! I would like to know how long take beef round eye roast in pot and what is 350 temp? Thanks! Toni

  • @tlpeace22 Hi Toni! The beef eye of round roast will take 4 to 6 hours on high in a crock pot; about 8 hours on low. If you cook it in a pot on the stove, put in a couple of inches of water, cover it, and cook for about 4 hours. I hope this helps!

    --Betty :)

  • awesome work i just got a slow cooker plan on trying my first roast this weekend!

i will follow you directions because they OWN

  • Perfect, you gave me all the information i needed. Good work.

  • Is most of the fat on the bottom?

  • Doesn't Adolph's meat tenderizer have msg in it? There are people that go into anaphylactic shock if they ingest this. I can think of much healthier seasoning to use such as Jane's crazy mixed up salt, which doesn't contain msg and other chemicals...

  • I probably did not show it in this video, but quite often I turn the jar to the side to show in large lettering "NO MSG." The Adolph's meat tenderizer that I use never contains MSG; it's composed of natural tenderizers, like papaya. Thanks for your comment; it will remind everyone to look for the "NO MSG" message on the container!

    --Betty :)

  • I stand corrected...thank you.

  • do i put water in the crock pot with the roast?

  • You may, but it is not necessary. The roast will produce its own juice, and I wouldn't want to water that down. Thanks for asking!

    --Betty :)

  • Your china is really beautiful. Would you mind if I asked the brand and pattern?

    The roast looks great.

  • Thanks! It is antique china, so it is no longer being produced. The brand is Noritake "M," and the pattern is "Allure." I bought this huge set in an antique store in Berea, kentucky about 20 years ago. Thanks for your compliments!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen theres a person in Georgia on Ebay that has tons of china...I suggest looking there!

  • Betty can you put the meat on the crock pot/slow cooker without water? Wow, didn't know that, so in other words, the meat will have its own juices right? This recipe look yummy, many thanks!!!

  • Hi!

Sorry to be so long in answering! Yes, you can put the roast in the slow cooker without any water--just salt it. It will produce its own juice that will be delicious for brown gravy!

    --Betty :)

  • Betty you are great! Your recipes are wonderful and it's so nice to have the tutorials. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for your lovely comment! I really appreciate it! I am glad that you can use some of my recipes!

    --Betty :)

  • what kind of brown noodles

  • I made Bett's Beautiful, Buttery, Brown Noodles recipe--It's sooo easy, and they look and taste great!

    --Betty :)

  • out of the many beef roast recipes I watched you are the first one that did not have any veggies! Nice and simple!

  • I'm glad I had what you were looking for. Most of my dishes are simple and to the point! Thanks for your lovely feedback!

    --Betty :)

  • I tried this dish too! In fact I'm making it again for dinner tonight! :)

  • That's wonderful! Thanks so much for your great feedback!

    --Betty :)

  • your a sexy momma

  • I hope your roast beef and gravy comes out well. Thanks for commenting,

    --Betty :)

  • Yeaaaah, grrrravy! Betty, I'm making the hot roast beef sandwiches tomorrow and am learning how to do the gravy now.

    Thank you!

  • The gravy is not hard to do. Just try to stir everything well while it is off the heat. If you heat it before you have stirred out the lumps, you will have lumpy gravy :( I think you will come out fine!

    --Betty :)

  • Hi peter,

Yes, definitely, you can get that brown and flavorful outside with the inside still on the rare side using the oven. Using a crock pot, the meat will be well done by the time the outside is browned--and it may not get very brown. I do have a recipe posted for pot roast in a crock pot, and it comes out with nice, brown gravy, because you add beef broth along with the beef when you start cooking it.

    --Betty :)

  • It is a little hard to tell visually if the meat is well done, or more medium. My preference is more on the "au jus" side.

Is it only a matter of cooking time? Thank you in advance. :)

  • When you're using a crock pot, it will usually be well done. Things like chicken and pork have to be cooked well done. With beef, you can stop the cooking earlier, and have some red in the middle, but the outside will not be browned and flavorful--it's a trade-off.

    --Betty :)

  • I guess that for a browned and flavourful outside and rarer middle, that the oven would be preferable.

If not, the Crock-Pot will be the appliance of choice. You can simply insert the ingredients in the morning and then come home to a hearty meal in the evening.

    Thanking you again,

    - Peter :)

  • Hi Betty, I just wanted to let you know that I tuned into your vid and it helped me to make my first roast beef and my first crock pot roast beef. So your effort is appreciated - Damian, NY

  • That's great! I'm glad that I was of some assistance! I appreciate your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Do you add any water to the crock pot with the roast

  • No, I didn't add water. I hardly ever do when using a crock pot. The juice cooks out of the meat and is plenty for making gravy. Thanks for your question!

    --Betty :)

  • Betty,

As usual, your meal looks terrific. I'm interested to know how you were able to get what appears to be a nice, brown crust on the outside of the roast. I know you cracked pepper on it, but it looks like more than just blackened with pepper. When my mother used to work with a crockpot, I don't recall her being able to get things to brown anywhere near how you did.

    Thanks in advance.

    ICO

  • Actually, I don't do anything special for browning, but roasts and hams, etc., come out nice and brown after about 8 to 10 hours.

    --Betty :)

  • No, I don't generally add water at all. On my pot roast video you will notice that I added beef broth. That was to make the potatoes, onions, etc. to turn brown and have a beef flavor throughout. Thanks for your question!

    --Betty :)

  • Betty, honestly, i don't know much about the cooking...but I really do like your VDO...The beef looked so yummy and i could imagine how the beef would taste like...I'll try your recipe tomorrow...Can you please give me some advise?...what kind of herb shall i add more to make the gravy smells nicer and what ingredients should i add more apart from salt and pepper..Thank you so much, by the way, u look sexy...i'm serious, take care..."Amy from Bangkok

  • Thanks for you sweet comments! Actually, the beef roast and gravy will be very flavorful with just salt and pepper, but if you would like to add some additional flavor, maybe parsley and chives would be subtle, but noticeable. Or, just use your favorite herbs that you use in other dishes. Good luck with your dinner!

    --Betty :)

  • Great recipe!

  • Thanks! I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • Thanks for your comments! Also, thanks for viewing. Have a great day!

    --Betty :)

  • Thanks for the video. Yes you're hot :-) I like the grease separator. You need a eggbert instead of that big spoon for the thickening agent

  • This always turns out great--you can't mess it up! Thanks for your comment, and thanks for watching!

    --Betty :)

  • Looks great!

  • Betty, you are smoking hot!!!

  • Thanks (I guess...)

    --Betty :)
