@omgomgfoobaromg Missed this comment somehow - but that's absolutely right. I use the Line 6 Variax bass and it is a digital modelling bass so doesn't have pick ups. THere are some interesting sounds available to you merely by turning the 'instrument' pot.

I believe they've been discontinued - which is a shame, I'd love to see where they would have gone if they'd carried on developing them.
