  • that car thats sound the alarms must be shittt scared!

  • I used to regulary travel home to the Island on a motorbike back in the 70's on the old Caedmon and Camber Queen. You used to have to stand on deck holding your bike up for the whole trip getting continiously covered in spray coming over the bow. The bit just as you leave the shelter of Portsmouth harbour was always the worst. Those were the days lol

  • I was on the Isle Of Wight Ferry on the night of the storm of 1990 and they had to reduce speed as it was so rough....it was the only ferry out in the solent at the time! All other ferries were cancelled.

  • love it

  • The traditional ferry captains are very good seamen to make these crossings safely in such conditions. As a dinghy sailor, I also thank them for the way they always see little boats.

  • If it was 80mph winds they wouldn't be sailing!

  • Why ever not?

  • Yes they would i get the ferry every day

  • some great shots here. but didn't you know that'll bugger up your camcorder lol

  • Thankfully 95% of that was filmed from behind the glass of this ships windows. As for the car deck bits, I did leap back inside/behind a lorry as the spray came hurtling through ;)

  • nice stuff bird
