@andriod1234 true, but it's VERY RARE though. most of these people who has 30 years+ of experience get paid approximately between 450K-590K. getting paid 750K a year is like a once in a life time situation. at least in kaiser permanente it is.
@redghost105 Yes, I'm talking about the U.S. Since compensation is directly related to volume in our fee-for-service system, a radiologist in a busy practice can make a lot more than $500K per year. Generally speaking, this would mean the practice would be in the larger and more densly populated cities.
@simbared If you are looking for a specific place, I live in Richmond, IN and radiologists start here at $500k +. The city is only about 50k people, so it's not always about size. Pretty much the best I can tell is that if the town has absolutely no tourist draws, i.e. the weather sucks, nothing to do etc., you will probably make more simply because would you want to live in a boring place if you made half a million dollars a year?
The salary quoted here isn't entirely accurate. From what I can tell from having checked advertisements from hospitals seeking diagnostic radiologists, $240k is about the minimum with as much as $500k starting for some areas of the country that have found it harder to recruit qualified radiologists. It seems to me that where, geographically speaking, you wish to work will dramatically affect how much money you make.
@zetch1411 The trick word in this response is "earn." No radiologist actually "earns" 500 K a year. They may "make" 500 K but they actually "earn" about half that much.
Did this guy just say 12 years of my life in school!

I would make a great Radiologist, because I love radios.
I listen to my radio, more than I do my TV and my wife - and mother-in-law.
