Ok to answer the first question, yes there is land pvp, called AVcom(Avatar combat) or Swashbuckling. 2nd most pvp ship battles are 6v6, this game is pretty amazing, they have these area's on the map know as red zone's or PVP zone's, those zones are created by blocading a port or attacking fleets of the ports nation, But the most interesting part of the game, mor interestiong than your econ or you small pvp's is the massive Port battles, 24v24, , the game goes FTP on Nov. 22,2010

@xartux ur ship has a durability. that means if you have 3 durabilities, your ship can be sunk 2 times without loosing it. But after the third time its gone/sunk forever.

A sink also destroys all your outfittings which is linked with the dura.

This game was a great thing bevore they reduced their servers from 5 to 2.. that changes everything because many players could(actually they can) not live along with the new people..

1. This is coming out just for the PC

2. With this game, it is a subscription based game, where you have to pay you $14.99, £9.99 whatever your currency is, each month to play the game.

A bonus with this game is that it's being published by SOE, so you can pay for their Station Pass and get all their games for a flat monthly fee.

Before the haters start, SOE do not run the game, that's all handled by Flying Labs :)

it is not only battle at sea, no. You get to mince around in ports as well. You have a skill set which you should develop yourself as you level up, for both land and sea combat.

don't understand the hype about this game tbh, doesn't look good and what is the objective? do you just ride around in a boat sinking other boats or, do you do quests for pirates to ship this box to that island. doesn't seem like a very good consensus for a sold MMORPG tbh, i think this will be like Vanguard or Archlord 2.0, unless they have somthing very impressive to show in the future.

A game like Warhammer or Age of Conan just looks more appealing.

All you do in thoes ones is kill wolves, get wolf armor and get lvl 1. Then you kill seacrabs, get seacrab armor and get lvl 2. Then you kill minor orc, get minor orc armor and get lvl 3. Etc.
