Thanks for this video! I was one of those kids that ran home from school to watch Dark Shadows. Barnabas was my first celebrity crush, then Quentin. Lara Parker and Kathryn Leigh Scott were truly the most beautiful women on TV at the time. I just hope that Johnny Depp's DS movie can hold half a candle to how great this show was but am so pleased Frid, Selby, Parker and Scott are making a cameo in the movie. DS will always be a happy childhood memory for me.
In his bios it is obvious that he has been and still is an actor of the Stage rather than Film, resisting stereotype. He has done stage work steadily throughout his career, even forming several companies. I had the great fortune to meet Jonathan Frid several years ago. He was incredibly humble, gracious, and kind. He also has a great sense of humor. Like it or not, in Barnabas Collins he created an iconic character that is right up there with ole' Drac himself! Jonathan Frid is a great actor.
This brings back such wonderful memories of my innocence in my youth. I used to get off the bus every weekday from grammer school and my wonderful Mother would have me a snack and a drink waiting and the T.V. turned on to Dark Shadows. It was one of the favorite parts of the day. I never missed it. Thanks so much for such a wonderful tribute to Mr. B. He is the TRUE KING OF VAMPIRES. lONG MAY HE LIVE THRU VIDEOS LIKE THIS. R.I.P. And thanks again. Fab Job!!
I am SO watching this series again. After all this time Barbabas STILL does it for me! Thank you so much for the reminder of the romance as well as the chills and thrills!
They just don't make stuff like this for television anymore. I remember Dark Shadows in 1969 I was 14yrs old. It came on each week day at 12noon. I was hooked every since!
well this show will never be replaced it was a classic and the movie can not beat this with johnny depp in it they keep putting that off for whatever reason it is i don't know this show was the best
I was born in '68 'N never forget the few flashbacks I have. In my 42 years, I never forgot the name of Barnabas Collins. Used to watch it w/ my parents. Excellent complation of images and by the way, excellent taste of music. I have been surfing the internet looking for this song by the band THE STRANDED and have not been able to find it. I would really appreciate if you could help me get this awesome song. Thanks for this masterpiece.
Why do people waste there time doing crap like this and putting music to the photographs that is just meaningless. Find something better to do with your time for God's sake. It was just a television program with fictional characters.
What a exceptionally well produced video. The images and audio track are perfectly melded together. Undoubtedly, Katherine Leigh Scott and Lara Parker are among the world's most beautiful women. Thanks for sharing this video with the world. It is a true masterpiece.
@yesnik4805 I remember coming home from school and being scared out of my mind by Angelique, never Barnabas. Anyone who is scared of Barnabas just doesn't get it.

Brilliant homage Tribute to DARK SHADOWS "Barnabas Collins" ; love the collage images there haunting, Dramatic, tragedy and lost...'and Life anew. That's all rolled up in the Iconic BARNABAS played by legendary Actor Jonathan Frid whom give such intriqueing Life to this much "beloved" haunting chill-bite Vampire character throughout time. I look forward to seeing my belove DARK SHADOWS on the big screen again, in the Winter of 2011 or early chilly 2012!!
Great Job! Love this tribute to BC. Images are beautifully clear and perfectly timed to your wonderful selection of music. Brought back memories from decades ago. The romantic Barnabas is so enjoyable to see. I appreciate your efforts in putting together such a moving video. The 1795 storyline was my favorite.
Barnabas and Josette kissing under the crystal chandelier just has to be one of the most romantic sequences ever filmed. There's just so much sweetness, respect, and above all else, love between them. It really shows. The colors of the costumes and the background settings were so well matched by the designers. I love how you have made these images sharper and darker. The pairing of them in such a fashion just so speaks to the bright and lovely romance that is within the Dark Shadows.
Thanks, T.B. I appreciate the kind words. 1795 must surely have been the best storyline of them all, even tho I haven't seen any of the future episodes yet.
Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to do this! Barnabas was my first video love, played to perfection by Jonathan Frid. Angel, Nick Knight, the Twilight vampires, all owe so much to Mr. Frid's remarkable portrayal...full of angst and passion...Long Live DS !
The 1795 story arc established Barnabas as a romantic figure. The descent of this noble, gallant gentleman into the darkest realm of despair could not have been portrayed by a lesser actor. Jonathan Frid brought an aliveness, an undeniable beauty and haunting grace to a role which otherwise was destined to be that of a mere monster. Barnabas' conflicted passion, his hurts, and triumphs-- he understood.. You have painted perfect portraits of Barnabas-- that others will know why he is beloved.
Love the 1795 storyline. It really changed my attitude towards BC after I saw all that inflicted upon him. Thanks for the lovely images and for posting this tribute.
What a fine tribute to TV's greatest romantic hero. Before the vampires on "True Blood" and
"Twilight", there was Jonathan Frid's "Barnabas Collins". I also enjoyed reading your story. Ya can't keep a good vampire down, so I hope you write another.
This great! The song is perfect. I love Barnabas, especially during the 1795 storyline. I read your novel, it was great I am working on one of my own.
Wow, as awesome as awesome can get!! I just love the 1795 Dark Shadows period, except for the death of Josette. As always, your images are beautiful, well chosen, and convey so much emotion. Thank you.

Barnabas is THE number one vampire of all time in my book. My favorite character of DS, and yes, brilliantly acted by Jonathan Frid.
