  • great game and great comentary!

  • I am trying to figure out why the option of the one pawn ending after E6 (2:29) is undesirable.

  • Good, intelligent presentation. Thank you, sir.

  • Nailed that last move :p

  • that last move blew my mind

  • Thanks for the vid!

  • Excellent, very well presented. Thank you.

  • I'm pretty envious because I know that no matter how much I play chess or analyze it there'll be people like Capablanca who know the game instinctively and will always win situations like that. Great vid btw.

  • Beautiful! Thanks!

  • The example is one of the best rook ending ever seen.Thank you very much.

  • you are welcome. :-)

  • Great video Majnu!

  • Majnu. Excellent! I think trixapete misses the point. Such positions are really hard to crack with rooks still on the board. Capa had to work out a precise series of moves which finally reached the zugzwang. This is incredibly difficult. At most levels this would probably be a draw! Leaving the the g pawn en prix because of the tactic bringing the rook to g8 etc and using this tactic as part of his whole plan to win the f pawn is the mark of Capa's genious!

  • Very good explanation and a great choice to pick this Capa game! Thanks!
