One thing i say is. In PC the control is very easy and accurate and you can do everything like you want but the PS3 have very difficult to control the assasin to move and jump and clime somewhere. I dont know about XBOX-360 but i think it´s the same like PS3

This was a good game for me from the start, however when I got to the end it sucked. Completely. The ending took suck a toll on me that I'm not even sure I will play the next one. That's just me tho.

the only reason why i like AC is because of the story, its really, secretive, very political more to say, templars and most of all i love history so it gave me a glimpse of how the world feels or someone that i did research (books) though brotherhood has a great improvement espically with combat, very sleek, very quick, and some are crazy counter attacks.
though the thing i didnt like was that they should have added more gruesome combat counter attack deaths.

The thing about the ranged weapons is that you have to be locked on to your target and HOLD down the shooting button until the aiming reticule turns into a straight line to guarantee a direct hit. I didn't get it at first either, but once you learn that, you'll NEVER miss.
The controls are great. For the most part they're intuitive and just the right amount of difficulty so that you feel like your actually freely roaming the environment rather than being pigeonholed into a specific action. The game is getting a little repetitive but the platforming controls were nearly spot on from the beginning. Does everyone remember how exhilarating and satisfying your first successful escape was in the first one?
Holy RETARDED. The controls, platforming, etc is the same in all 3 games. If you would have been patient through the first 2 they wouldnt be so "horendous" in this one

I don't agree with this review....don't review a game unless you actually know the story behind it, thats a big turn off to people who are looking for real reviews.
Second, the platforming in this game is incredible. I am a huge fan of platformers and all of them take work. Its not the game that causes you to jump off the roof, its you. Platforming relies on extremely good hand eye coordination.
Third, shooting in this game is not perfect but it is hardly difficult. The enemies on the roof

Hmmm, did not agree with this review at all, like usually Raychul I share the same opinions as you, but, although I agree it takes a while to get used to, the platforming in ACB is amazing. Some may not agree, but I think that being able to hold two buttons and then go wherever you want is fantastic, they don't over-complicate it. I don't really like the ranged weapons mechanic, but it's not that bad once you get used to it. Also, Multiplayer, although repetitive, is amazing.

Out of curiosity have you tried Mount & Blade: Warband? If you enjoyed managing and upgrading your assassins you might enjoy the team building in M&B. Simple game play but very addictive. Its a mid evil action RPG with a strategy aspects to it. Out of all the games I've played its my favorite combat system.

its all about learning. The plattforming is simple when you learn it, its not suppose to be fast paced even though it feels like that sometimes. When you stress it you make mistakes and you die. Just like its suppose to be.
It's okay if you can choose to be stealthy and if it doesn't work try another aproach like in Deus Ex. Did you ever play Deus Ex? If you didn't - play it! One of the greatest games (RPG-FPS-hybrid) of all times.
But if the game forces you to be stealthy and you have to restart the level because someone noticed you, that sucks. One of the very few points that I disliked in No One Lives Forever? Great FPS! Ever played it? You will like the sense of humor in this game.

You still get notoriety for pick pocketing people because just think why you loose them when you bribe a herald. Weapon lock range is really not great beacuse they matched it up with the line of sight of the soldiers. If they can't see you from a distance then you won't be able to lock them. Right? And OMG a female gamer? I wish there were more of you on Earth then i'd be a lot hapier !!! XD
Raychul you have to hold down the X button for a second to get the gun to work, with the crossbow it's a breeze though, literally imo it's like have a bot quickscope for you in MW2, you can't miss and it's an automatic 1 shot kill, and knives are 2 shots on any armored enemy. Also one little story I have with the crossbow, in one mission (your not there yet) I literally took out every guard, 25+ using the crossbow without detection.
and the ending will BLOW YOUR MIND so make it wear a condom

I have to say, the first AC had the worst controls. I got so pissed at that game and I was soooo happy to be done with it (the only reason why I played it was for AC2) But, AC2 did so much better, although the controls still need to be worked on, but for me it was a much better job. I have yet to play this new one, I hear the multiplayer is really fun!

The controls definitley an undeniable issue and that is because they have (again!) mapped sprint to a face button. Why do games do this? This now means you have lost contorl of the camera whilst sprinting. And in a game where you might be racing, or in a chase, it is important to know where you are going.

Seriously though while I agree with some of the platforming issues, I think its just a small concession it had to make in order for your character to be able to run up/climb just about everything in the game. I thought the story was weaker than AC2, but it definitely makes up for it with the Multiplayer as it is a BLAST!
I hope I can answer the noteriety aspect for you. You get noteriety because other people are watching you as well as the guards. It's like in real life, if someone sees you as a thief then they are going to be weary of you and start talking about you. The villagers take note of you as well as the guards.
I feel that the controls are just fine. There is a learning curve & so if someone had to beat the game with a deadline guiding them, then I could understand the frustration. The gun is not meant to be used in heavy combat, unless as a finisher. The crossbow is so much more effective for stealth. Also, throwing three knifes at one is effective is decreasing the numbers before a large fight. The Assassins Guild gave such a edge that the game was almost too easy. You can't button mash!!!~

If you skipped the 2nd game from bordeum, than how can you identify with the protaganist, EZIO & the plight of oppressive power? I know that you feel that story is important, because of your love for Bioshock.
@Khimeran77 I never get how people can get attached to the story in these AC games. The badguys are two dimensional moustache twirling dudes, and for some reason or another the assassins are seen as "good" because they slaughter corrupt politicians. I think if the story was good, there would be more nuance to the morality at play. But that's just me nit-picking. To me, AC is really just GTA with free running.

Great review :). I'm on the opposite side of the fence in terms of stealth. To have good stealth mechanics added to a game makes it so much more fun for me, by adding a little more strategy in the gameplay. I do agree that the notoriety status increasing over successful pick pocketing doesn't make sense.
I like the new layout of your vids. Seeing hallways or other rooms behind you didn't look too professional, much better now :)
Raychul, did you target/select your targets before using the ranged weapons? If you just shoot or throw the knives they go everywhere but if you select your target they're spot on accurate...

Hmm, about the ranged weapons, I can understand what you mean, but I don't mind them really. The auto-aim is good, but the free aim is... annoying.
About AC1, I can understand that you disliked. I liked it though, but I think the whole game was stuck on repeat.
AC2 and ACB, both awesome games. Eventhough I liked them best, I think Altaïr is cooler than Ezio.
Other than that, if you don't like the controls, you're not going to like multiplayer. You can say it's sorta like CS gone assassin.

Hmmm, did not agree with this review at all, like usually Raychul I share the same opinions as you, but, although I agree it takes a while to get used to, the platforming in ACB is amazing. Some may not agree, but I think that being able to hold two buttons and then go wherever you want is fantastic, they don't over-complicate it. I don't really like the ranged weapons mechanic, but it's not that bad once you get used to it. Also, Multiplayer, although repetitive, is amazing.

Out of curiosity have you tried Mount & Blade: Warband? If you enjoyed managing and upgrading your assassins you might enjoy the team building in M&B. Simple game play but very addictive. Its a mid evil action RPG with a strategy aspects to it. Out of all the games I've played its my favorite combat system.

its all about learning. The plattforming is simple when you learn it, its not suppose to be fast paced even though it feels like that sometimes. When you stress it you make mistakes and you die. Just like its suppose to be.

I too hate stealth.
It's okay if you can choose to be stealthy and if it doesn't work try another aproach like in Deus Ex. Did you ever play Deus Ex? If you didn't - play it! One of the greatest games (RPG-FPS-hybrid) of all times.
But if the game forces you to be stealthy and you have to restart the level because someone noticed you, that sucks. One of the very few points that I disliked in No One Lives Forever? Great FPS! Ever played it? You will like the sense of humor in this game.

You still get notoriety for pick pocketing people because just think why you loose them when you bribe a herald. Weapon lock range is really not great beacuse they matched it up with the line of sight of the soldiers. If they can't see you from a distance then you won't be able to lock them. Right? And OMG a female gamer? I wish there were more of you on Earth then i'd be a lot hapier !!! XD

Raychul you have to hold down the X button for a second to get the gun to work, with the crossbow it's a breeze though, literally imo it's like have a bot quickscope for you in MW2, you can't miss and it's an automatic 1 shot kill, and knives are 2 shots on any armored enemy. Also one little story I have with the crossbow, in one mission (your not there yet) I literally took out every guard, 25+ using the crossbow without detection.
and the ending will BLOW YOUR MIND so make it wear a condom

this game was honestly one of the best games i've played in a long time. I found the controls excellent. and the ranged weapons were fine!
the only lacking thing was the horses, that looked tike toys compared to red dead's horses. but that aside, friggin' amazing!

I have to say, the first AC had the worst controls. I got so pissed at that game and I was soooo happy to be done with it (the only reason why I played it was for AC2) But, AC2 did so much better, although the controls still need to be worked on, but for me it was a much better job. I have yet to play this new one, I hear the multiplayer is really fun!

The controls definitley an undeniable issue and that is because they have (again!) mapped sprint to a face button. Why do games do this? This now means you have lost contorl of the camera whilst sprinting. And in a game where you might be racing, or in a chase, it is important to know where you are going.
I'm not sure why they haven't addressed this yet.

Seriously though while I agree with some of the platforming issues, I think its just a small concession it had to make in order for your character to be able to run up/climb just about everything in the game. I thought the story was weaker than AC2, but it definitely makes up for it with the Multiplayer as it is a BLAST!

I hope I can answer the noteriety aspect for you. You get noteriety because other people are watching you as well as the guards. It's like in real life, if someone sees you as a thief then they are going to be weary of you and start talking about you. The villagers take note of you as well as the guards.

I feel that the controls are just fine. There is a learning curve & so if someone had to beat the game with a deadline guiding them, then I could understand the frustration. The gun is not meant to be used in heavy combat, unless as a finisher. The crossbow is so much more effective for stealth. Also, throwing three knifes at one is effective is decreasing the numbers before a large fight. The Assassins Guild gave such a edge that the game was almost too easy. You can't button mash!!!~

This is good, because I have felt that most of your journalist comments have been accurate & I truly believe that you are a gamer at heart. Assassins Creed is a story driven game. If you skipped the 2nd game from bordeum, than how can you identify with the protaganist, EZIO & the plight of oppressive power? I know that you feel that story is important, because of your love for Bioshock.

@Khimeran77 I never get how people can get attached to the story in these AC games. The badguys are two dimensional moustache twirling dudes, and for some reason or another the assassins are seen as "good" because they slaughter corrupt politicians. I think if the story was good, there would be more nuance to the morality at play. But that's just me nit-picking. To me, AC is really just GTA with free running.

Great review :). I'm on the opposite side of the fence in terms of stealth. To have good stealth mechanics added to a game makes it so much more fun for me, by adding a little more strategy in the gameplay. I do agree that the notoriety status increasing over successful pick pocketing doesn't make sense.
I like the new layout of your vids. Seeing hallways or other rooms behind you didn't look too professional, much better now :)

Raychul, did you target/select your targets before using the ranged weapons? If you just shoot or throw the knives they go everywhere but if you select your target they're spot on accurate...
