keep practicing bro!! And learn how to hold the guitar. wrap your hand around the neck like your cock when ur beating off. anchor your thumb over the top of the neck if you wanna play like stevie!!!!!!!!
The video was supposed to show off your guitar, that you like i guess :).
It's not like you can't have a great guitar just because people think you're not skilled enough..
I want to tell you though, that you should not be that nervous when you're posting a video. Why don't you just tape a new one until you get it right (right=as you want it to be), instead of apologizing all the time.
@phreshdan That is definitely not a question that can be answered especially since you didn't say what style of blues. You'll get a bunch of opinions but we all have them and they all stink. A lot of people say Fender, others Gibson and then we got PRS etc. but don't forget that you can do it with (basically) any guitar. Gary Moore for example used an Ibanez, GIbson LP, Fender Telecaster...he was all over the map. I think that's a good example that not only a Fender can play the blues.
Hey Jay! Nice guitar man, it sounds awesome. Don't pay attention to the negative crap dude, just keep rockin!
Furthermore, for you naysayers out there, can YOU play?
In my experience of 34 years playing, I've found that you can something learn from anyone, like the "A suspended" Jay plays here at 5:00-5:02. lol, Blew my mind, so cool.
Jay, do you have a guitarist teaching you stuff? Someone in your family plays, I take it?
does the Nitro finish make that much of a difference, I'm looking to put together a frankenstein of my own, but im finding it difficult getting an alder body let alone with nitro finish in the uk.
i think if u practice a bit more and play some scales as many ass u can get ur hand on u will deff be good but check out my vid i think you should put a seymour duncan cool rail in the middle and ull deff get the sound ur looking for i can tell u kinda play like me except im better but im not shooting u down just re;lting to you
Need to play more. Try learning the blues scale for starters, then play slowly, with feeling. Think more. Grip the neck with the thumb over the top and try some bends in the middle of the neck. Bend the 3rd string, 7th fret using the 3rd finger, but place the 2nd finger on the 6th fret, 3rd string, and first finger on the 5th fret 6th 3rd string. No try this bend on other strings and other postions. Remember the thumb position! You need to practice this type of bending technique for control
can you put a humbucker in a strat with just singlecoils, or is that too big a job/a bad idea. Only I couldnt use just singlecoils and cant find many strats with humbuckers, i know fat strats have them are there any other models?
you mean like 1 humbucker, 2 singles? well you could get a new pickguard that fits and has HSS cutout, then just buy a humbucker and find a wiring diagram and wire it all up, but you would just have to make sure the guitar had room in the cavities to fit the humbucker
there is the fender hot rod, i dont remember the name exactly, it has a humbucker and two singles and a nice warm sound, great guitar but not typical strat, i think better for studio than live, but great guitar
I hate how the stratocaster has been put down over the years its a great guitar but every knock off brand seems to make a complete copy of the body which takes away from what it was ment to be. Great vid tho
Yeah, that's a real nice find you've got there. And yeah, I'll just generally repeat a few of the other comments you've gotten: tune your instrument, use ALL of your fingers, and practice, practice, practice. You've got a nice guitar, so practicing should be pretty enjoyable now:) Imagine what it'd be like w/ a good amp too;):D Anyway, best of luck!
Dude...try not to breathe so loud next time, I'm trying to listen to the guitar! : ) Just joking man. It looks and sounds great, sunburst (3tones) and rosewood are my favorite combinations! Keep it up, ROCK ON!
the guitars nice would of done it slightly differently but spend more time learning to play. Just more time practicing than fiddling tones nothing if you cant play it well not one song sounded right its almost funny.
nice choice of parts and pickups, it's a shame that frontman can't really show what your guitar can do. i was thinking about ordering guitar body from the stewmac too.. is it any good? and the stew's necks?
I won't be mean, but dude you need to learn one of those songs all the way through and practice it over and over. Better to have one song down really well than three sloppy.
Yeah, I know I need a lot of work. I get nervous when playing in front of a camera too, and I made a lot of retarded mistakes. Also my amp sounds like shit, as I was using a Frontman 15. I plan on re-doing this with my HRD.
I'm not gonna pick at ur playing cos some meanies have seemed to be quite enthusiastic at it. Ur obviously not a 10 yr veteran at playing but dnt let anyone put u down...disable comments if u want.
But one thing i couldn't help but notice is that ur neck pickup didn't sound too good. fralins are okay but i suggest something like fender 57/62's or seymour duncan ssl-1 to compliment ur middle pickup.
Uhh

Nice partscaster, but I couldn't stop but laugh a bit on the inside from 4:10-4:40 with you playing that pseudo-scale over and over.
You're not fooling anyone, your're not playing blues lol. Just learn some nice chord progressions before you try lead guitar.

you move your hand up and down the neck way too much it's probably a nervous thing tho.awsome guitar.
