Just look up the sheet music for Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D, and then improvise a bit, adding a swing tempo as you go along.

Seriously, it really is the exact same song up until about 1:45, and then it's simply a vamp between two different chords, then a segue, small interlude, and right back to the same I-V-vi-iii-IV-I-IV-V progression, rinse and repeat a few times for a few verses and choruses, and there you have it.

Yes, if you throw in the guitar and string accompaniment it's even more canon-style.

Granted, much of modern music is influenced by the chord progression of Canon in D, but Komm, susser Tod intended that.

The later "Fugue" section is based on Hey Jude. At least, lyrically.
