Regarding the recommendation to avoid "licensed" tremolos. The "original" Floyd Rose was actually made by Schaller in Germany. Schaller now make "licensed" Floyd's of a better quality than the "real" Floyd Rose tremolos - so I'd ignore that remark and go for the Schaller units.

my edge pro tremolo is perfecty setup with the body and it doesn't keep the when using whammy bar, it's working only for one direction.. If it works when pulling the whammy up it comes back in tune but when pressing down, G B E strings go flat.. When i tighten those spring screws littlebit then the whammy bar works perfectly when pressed down but it's out of tune when raising the whammy up.. :S Tremolo is new and i still have that problem.. Where's the problem? can anyone help :o

the springs might be too strong, if you have 3 in, try taking one out or putting on heavier strings.

If your bridge gets too high like 45 degree angle high or something like that

DO NOT tighten the springs on the back until you loosen the strings via tuners.

You will just snap the strings if you tighten the springs in the back without loosening the strings via tuners in the front

You FIRST loosen the strings throught the tuners on the headstock then you start loosening the springs on the back of the guitar

Once it is at the way you want it start tuning again and if the same thing happens, do what is listed above till it is perfect.

No, you still need to route through the guitar for the sustain block to go through.

My fine tuners don't work. I use the fine tuners to get my guitar in tune, but then after I just play a few power chords, it goes a bit out of tune again. It goes a bit flat. hey...can someone help me??i have a new Ibanez RG170 (a begginer's guitar XD)...and it works wonderfull for me...but...it don't have a FR trem....it have a standart one...and the strings gets out of tune..very easy when i use the whammy bar..then...i need to know if theres a way to installa floy rose on that guitar...

You'll need to replace the studs for the trem... like drill new holes and install the studs (have a pro do it, unless you own a drill press). Then have it set up by a pro, unless you know what you're doing.

Or, buy a Strat and put a Super-Vee on it.

uh the lo-pro edge and the original edge are not just "pretty good" there better then the acctual original floyd rose you can look it up anywhere on the net,ultimate-guitar,forums,goo­gle,yahoo and it proves there much better i just got my ibanez rg770dxlb for 1990 all original,pups,bridge(also MIJ) today and its perfect in tuning so its not just "pretty good" there the best brotha!~

The original Edge is great but the only problem is you're limited to just Ibanez. Let's face it, not everyone likes Ibanez. You have a WAY bigger selection when using the original Floyd.

A FR system costs around 200 USD. You'll have to do routing if the guitar isn't set up for a floating trem, which if you have professionally done can be expensive.

The metal they're made of. Most of the licensed ones are made of very cheap metal which makes the knife edges wear down. The knife edges are basically the heart of the Floyd. Without them, the trem is useless.

It's close, but I find that it takes the ZR longer to break in when you change strings or tuning, takes about 3 days, while the floyd'll be done in maybe 3 hours.
