the music at the end of the seen on mars with dr manhatten and silk splecter were they were talking about the comdian being her father and they zoomed out to smiley face inprent on mars when they played all along the watch tower by jimmy hendrix was a good music choice and the best song in watchmen by far
i would like to pose a question. if watchmen were to be directed by another director, who would you choose to direct it. why and how would would he/she do better than Zach. this is not yelling at anyone, just curious
Good review, but you have to admit that they did a really shit job with Adrien Veidt. In all his scenes he seems evil and you can tell he is going to be the bad guy in the film: In the comic you really don't expect it.
I agree with you 100%, also, he seemed too dark, too depressed, at least in the original graphic novel, his costume and sometimes his demeanor seemed bright if only for a moment
I thought his costume was better in the movie then the comic novel. Too bad they cut the part when he was talk about how much he "admired" Alexzandor the great. But he still kicked ass. My favorite line of his was "I'm not some comic book villian. Do you think I would unvail my plan if I knew you had the slightest chance to change the out come?" That was great, it wasn't that cool in the comic.
Exellent point. That, and the whole "Good guys fighting a bunch of goons to get to the main bad guy" I think they did that because it wasn't a kiddie movie so they cut that crap out. The director did a great job, thats my opinion. To bad DC only has 1 successful charactor(Batman) everyone else would be too phony to watch unless it was a cartoon. And do you rewiew old school anime?
Well its a movie, everyone has to draw their own opinions on it, but you're welcome, I am usually very fluid about people's opinions and yes, Rorschach is a bad ass
I wont argue with you but the ending was a little flakey but it also made some sense compared to an alien invasion which would have made more sense in 1985.
I know, but I didnt let it get to me, but I have spoken to many people who say the audience around them was similar to the one around me, I should organize a comic fan movie trip
Two things, One, there was a guy sitting four seats from me who was laughing so loudly during the previews I feared he might ruin the movie with his awful laughter, Two, a young kid I used to see around where I live had gotten into see the movie, he must be 16 now, all he said was "did you see the boobies?" I didnt reply, i actually felt more like vomitting.
Its Nite Owl. Anyhow, The R rating probably attracted more people than it pushed away. Unfortunately that was a setback for me when i saw the film in theaters, most of the surrounding audience members were I believe, unfamaliar with the watchmen graphic novel
Well it was supposed to have two meanings, one, it wasnt really shown in the original watchmen for a reason, two, it shows that Dr.Manhattan has given up alot of human emotions, including shame
The problem wasnt th actor who played Superman, he actually wasnt bad, it was just, the movie's plot was bad, i mean, a mountain of kryptonite? Lex Luthor as the main villain? He has a son? All bad, where is Brainiac? Where is Lobo? Where is Darksied? Where is Metallo?
I felt the music was really bad. The music did not go a long with Watchmen at all in my opinion. The music reminded me of the music in Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions a long with the slow motion effects. This was the movie's lowest point.
yea i agree i dont hate the film but is not what we expected and the music i thinks was my maim problem especually that scene with night owl and spectra when they in the sky was just lame, overall good movie but what some of us was expecting mostly becuz of the end ...
i agree with you on the actors, everyone was on the money EXCEPT for ozymandias who i thought was truly mis-cast and silk spectre, the actress who did silk spectre was rather on and off
*sigh* i guess its true, the watchmen truly IS unfilmable, and while i didnt HATE the movie, i say to all those who havent read the book, go out and pick it up now, if you even remotely enjoyed the film, you'll see how much of a masterpiece the book is. Anyway, sorry for ranting mr.bushido, as always an entertaining review, thanks for your time. I'd give the watchmen movie a 3.5 stars out of 5 and the watchmen book a 10 out of 5 stars lol
that said, one thing that TRULY annoyed the shit out of me was the music. The burial of the comedian was destroyed bu the lame music that was played during the sequence, nite owl and silk spectres moment of liberation as they have sex in the ship is made a joke by that stupid hallelujah song, and one of the best scenes in the book where dr manhattan is killing the vietnamese soldiers, a scene thats supposed to invoke a sense of true awe and power, is ruined by that stupid little victory jingle
i have to say man i was greatly disappointed. But like you said, im a realist and i was FULLY aware going into the movie that there was no way that all 350 some odd pages of the book would be put in the film, some things would have to be cut. And the cuts seriously disrupt the flow of the film and it feels like zack snyder gives us these quick little montages of things to try and get everyone up to speed on the story but at the same time not taking the time to flesh out all the details
the music at the end of the seen on mars with dr manhatten and silk splecter were they were talking about the comdian being her father and they zoomed out to smiley face inprent on mars when they played all along the watch tower by jimmy hendrix was a good music choice and the best song in watchmen by far

true, but I like how he said "I did it 35 minutes ago". Its always a cliche that the bad guy doesnt "push the button" until the heroes arrive

The movie was epic and it was solid to the comic. I didn't like the ending I felt the original made more sense. All together, perfect.

Not really, I grew up reading Superman and alot of that movie just annoyed me.
Too much Lex Luthor, Superman has other enemies, also, him having a son was a bad idea, I could rant on that but why bother.
