  • idiot, the blue stands for the chemical they use to clean out the diesel aka blue tec...

  • dont have to be 600hl, buy the LS460 full trunk i bet its hella cheaper better looking more reliable, faster than 7 sec... 0-60. BTW 460 is better feul than the 600hl. I say mercedes fail on this car compare to lexus.

  • i'd either go with this or the v12 biturbo diesel...

  • S400 Blue Hybrid vs. LS600HL, that should be fun!

  • The LS 600hl is more of a S600 competitor.

  • neither of them(ls460 or ls600) can,t compare with S600. because S Class is the FLAG:)

  • blue is for diesel... it has a diesel engine!!

    diesel hybrid

  • @rprado745 No its not a Diesel it's a petrol engine!

  • great, just what we need, another peice of shit luxury hybrid that no one will ever buy.

why cant these freakin companysproduce more performance and diesel models?

  • MuSt BuY ThIs CaR NoW!!!

  • V6 on an S class wow never will touch that if your rich enough to buy one you dont care about gas prices

  • it has a diesel engine.. so yes diesel hybrid..

    more torque!! :.)

  • I see that you're competing with other people in order to create the most asinine statement on this comment thread.

  • "lol we're gonna compare a 0-60 in 7 car with a 0-60 in 5.5?ish car and stuff." Uhh... yes, if I buy a 4-banger I can get 10 MPG better than my V6, doesn't mean that the 4 is any better because I can live with 0-60 in 7.5 vs 5.5. Fuel economy is (genearlly) inversely proportional to horsepower/speed.

All I'm saying is that it's another apples and oranges comparison. The two cars aren't appealing to the exact same market.

  • i got one of those

  • ya, but it is hip to be green now remember. Being Green= pretending that you care about something so you can thumb your nose at non hybrid drivers. give me a AMG S65.

  • But most people buy hybrids as a way to say that they are better than everyone else(especially when they buy luxury hybrids) , I agree that developing new fuel-saving technology is essential, but the luxury hybrids are just status symbols

  • Luxury hybrids.. LS600hl comes to mind lol

  • I couldn't have said it better myself. Sure, hybrids are nice if you're worried about the cost of gas, but Prius owners and luxury hybrid owners are pricks.

  • If you really care about the environment, buy a motor scooter or convert your car to run on vegetable oil(which is by no means a permanent solution) or natural gas, or just get a small car, my sister has a little saturn that gets 35mpg

  • Well your little sister obviously doesn't care about gas prices or the environment as much as someone her age that rides a bike, because a bike gets...umm...I don't know, you can't divide numbers by zero XD

I think that would be "infinity" miles to the gallon.

  • I didn't say little sister, and bikes don't do to well on the highway. But if you live near enough to where you work or go to school, its a great idea to ride a bike, but not everybody is in that kind of situation.

  • Your sister then. I know that cars don't do well on the highway, that's why luxury hybrids (and hybrids in general) are stupid. They get worse gas mileage than a diesel of the same displacement, they're overpriced, they're lower preforming, and I just don't like them. Mainly the Toyota frickin' Prius.

  • hey! my aunt owns a rx400h and shes far from being a prick!

  • That's not really the point. The S-Class tends to be where Mercedes tests new technology, which often trickles down to the rest of the automotive industry.

  • Because the colour blue is associated with water, and water is percieved to be pure. So rather than going with the cliche 'green', they were smart and drove a path no one else had. What they, Mercedes-Benz, should have done is gone with the Hydrogen Fuel cell and tossed the whole 'Hybrid' rubbish out the window.

  • considering the size of this car, thats not too bad economy

  • not impressed with the car, could have better milleage.

  • 30mpg for something that size is pretty good. It's probably still way to heavy though. That will be killing a lot of there hard work.

  • nice
