Thanks for writing such a great song which exemplifies anyone having Appalachian blood running in their veins. I love this song the first time I heard it. God Bless you!
I am from Appalachia and there is no place like home. Been all over the world and I could not wait to get back home. Now I am back and I will never leave again. Bury me beneath the Mountain Larual and I will be in heaven.
@cathead77 I plan on it some day, believe me. If ever asked where i'm from I never hesitate. I love West by god. Mountaineer fan stuck in ACC country.
Hi, I love this. I was born in Mercer County, but moved away for years. Bought s place up in Indian Meadows three years ago. I can't wait until April to go back.We can only go up there from April until Oct. It's a summer place.I miss West Virginia.
Hi there.I was born and raised in McDowell County.Your songs have a profound effect on my heart. You blow my mind away with these heartfelt words.Everything you write about is so true.Keep the great work going.
wow! Alan I am so impressed! As usual you have really outdone yourself. I am sharing your beautiful music with friends and family here in SC and they love you and the gang! Please tell Jessi I miss talking to her. I love you all! Your music really makes me miss home!!
YouTube has said that this video contains copyrighted material. Well, I am the one and only writer of this song. Do I not have the right to post my own song?
This is beautiful Cathead! You are such a talent, just as your beautiful daughter, Stacy Grubb! I need to scan my old pictures of the mountains and put them on my video of Oh Appalachia. Yours is some Great stuff!!
I'd like to see more Appalachian people posting and taking pride in their Heritage! My Dads side come from the Mountains and I lived in Knott county Kentucky for a short time. South Eastern KY has some of the prettiest country I've ever seen.
lol yes yes i knew that already lol thnx for not being rude with me sarcasm is always fun. may Allah bless you. ^_^ beautiful music btw. i watched some videos.
This is beautiful! I logged in trying to find out more about my father's home - Caretta, WVa. He is drifiting away from us with alzheimer's and dementia and I wanted to find something he would remember. Thank you for sharing!
I'm from Letcher County and I've lived abroad for over 7 years now. But I have to say I only have one HOME and thats appalachia. I miss the mountains of my childhood so much sometimes, that it hurts to think of the memories I have.
I know what you mean. I get those same "hurting" feelings when I think of my wonderful childhood when things were simple here in the mountains. Thank you for watching my video.
Beautiful country! I went to Appalchaia for the first time to visit my wife's grandmother in Clay County, KY..Some of the kindest people I've ever met in my life. Great slideshow
Hey Alan....how's you doing? Did yu take any of these photos from the old Ieager road, near the old Stud Farm in Roderfield? It sure looks like some of it. Sheesh...I sometimes miss home so bad.........
As a matter of fact, I did. There were at least 5 pictures from that road most notably the rock cliff. The small creek branch was also on that road. Thanks for watching.
Hey Alan, you're the Man! This is great music and a really nice pictorial accompaniment. You clearly have the eye of an artist as well as the ears and soul.
WV is quickly being destroyed by mountain top removal, this docomentation of WV nature, music, and way of life, will be valued when WV is nothing but a vast wasteland and a large amount of usa is suffering from the deforestation, weather changes, posioning of the few last bits of clean water. :(
Love the music, this is what WV sounds like at dusk, when the coyotes call, wild cats groan, and the hearts of man celebrate the end of another day close to almost heaven.
Hey, I didn't even know this was here! This is really great. It would be neat to have one that takes you through all the four seasons of Appalachia :). I've got some great winter shots (even though winter sucks) if you ever want to use them. Adding in some of your old family pics from when you were a kid (I'm thinking right now of those from where y'all were all playing in that creek) would be neat, too! But this is a great pictoral of the beauty in which we live that *is* West Virginia.
