'm looking to get a longboard for some beach cruising, and a bit of downhill stuff. I'm just learning though. Anyone have some suggestions? I was looking at the Landyachtz Drop Carve. I am 185 lbs and 5' 10 with big feet. haha Don't know how much of this is relevant but thanks for any suggestions offered!

@Purifiedinfire drop carve should suit your fancy. good chill cruiser. its pretty flexy which is a downside for downhilling but shouldnt be too so long as you're not bombing stuff. it would probably start to get squirrely once you hit around the 45-60km/h area

Just longboarded with a buddy who has a landyachtz longboard. I must say I wish I would have bought it instead of a dervish. My dervish looks cheap compared to his. Still happy with my dervish but if you put the two side by side you would know what I'm talking about.

Go with Randal DH's (35*, 160mm) and 74mm 78a or 82a Sector 9 Race Formulas.

If you want more turn, put a 50* plate in back, but keep the 35* in front. Evos need a 35 in front due to the crappy design (too much wedging).

@ItTastesLikeJAM Neither. Evo is poorly designed and outdated, DH Race is good if you have size 8 feet, Chinook has too much wedging and bad foot pockets.

Head over to Silverfish Longboarding (Google it) and find the Soda Factory thread, check out the Clutch DeezNutz. It's kind of like an Evo (dropped speedboard with wedging), but it's better in every way.
