  • A very classic Stanley Clarke tune! Reminds of some rough times during the 1990's raising a family and trying to stay focused. BEST BASS PLAYER OF ALL TIME ! Stanley Clarke.

  • Thank you jazzmasterz for posting....

Stanely Duke PaulHardcastle Boney James Brian Cubertson Grover Washington Jr. I can never get tired of listening to their music ... the midas touch has been bestowed upon them and your @jazzmasterz ears:)

  • This is so soothing & so sad. I like it!

  • Great song. It's on Stanley's 'East River Drive' CD, which ALSO features 'Justice's Groove'

  • one of the most important films of the 90s

  • This is the music played that made me cry during the Boy n the Hood movie. Really sad moment.

  • Powerful! This is a tune that brings tears to my eyes. I can hear life in this.

  • Stanley Clarke also performed "Justice's Groove" from the movie poetic justice. Also a master piece of music.

  • why the hell was this not on the Boyz N The Hood album?!

  • you never watched the show befo... its a very sad story man....

  • The legendary Stanley Clark, is one of the best bass players I've ever heard. This composition is outstanding! Thanks for posting.

    Peace

  • Singleton and Clarke's work are the best.

Boyz N the hood best film. Worth watching, I guarantee it

  • Great movie, great music.

  • Amazing! Thanks Stanely Clarke...

  • Are you just being a prick?

  • I'm guessing he's some moron who likened Boyz N Tha Hood to some stereotypical "Money, gunz, bitches, hos!" hood movie.

  • lol shut up

  • what the heck stanley

  • keep the grooves going. i apprechiate it

  • As I said on a previous Stanley Clarke post, he has done his best work on John Singleton movies including this one as well Higher Learning and Poetic Justice. Thanks for posting this beautiful piece of contemporary jazz.

  • Excellent. And brings a few tears to your eyes from "Boyz N the Hood." That movie has packs a powerful punch.

  • This defines the beauty of smooth jazz!

  • I made love to ex girlfriends whilst this was playing in the background lol

  • Did you play it yourself? This don't play purely by coincidence.

  • @reccepl - wow, incredible effort to get the soundtrack :)

  • This song sounds great but it makes me feel sad. Makes me think of the scene when Ricky died at the end of the movie and all the sadness of the scene. Makes me think of all the mistakes I have made in my life that have led to regret and guilt and self-hatred and pain! Very very sad.

  • Great!!

What name has the Stanley-CD with the Soundtrack of Boyz N The Hood on it?

  • thanks jazzmasterz - there's not nearly enough stanley on youtube!

  • ..beautiful, beautiful stuff.

Been looking for the dramatic bass theme from the end of the movie..anyone..?

  • I didn't know about a dramatic bass theme from the movie. Was it possibly that Take 6 song?

  • ..'Black On Black Crime' was the track I was thinking of..(track 14 on the official soundtrack).

After a re-listen, it's more of a sax solo, but when watching the movie, they must have upped the bass..Clarke is seminal in his field.

    Cheers.

  • ...fyi..'Black on Black Crime' is finally posted...I've added it in my 'Jazz' playlists, hope it's still up when you get this.

    Cheers mate.

  • Thanks UKGOLFA I'll have to check it out.

  • Ooh I love this song from the bottom of my heart. It just makes you think about life. It puts you in that mood to just sit out under the stars and think about your life and how you can improve on it.

  • What a beautiful commentary about a beautiful song.I always feel like Stanley Clarkes music sounds like Life going by too.Lets pray more people open their hearts to Spiritual Love Music...
