  • ive got this camcorder. its too sickk

  • hey dude. what kind of camcorder you used in making this video.. thanks.

  • @KilluaLeeL are you an idiot?

its one of the first things he sais

  • its a torch :D

  • Crappy image stabilization makes this horrible for point and shoot style videos. However it does have a few nice things to offset that. The cold shoe and jack for an external microphone are a bonus. Plus it has a flash for stills. Decent camera, but I wish I had gotten something else in the end.

  • thanks great video.

what is the best way to edit this type of file on premiere ( MP4 ) ? do you have to convert it first? thanks thanks GRACIAS!

  • Is it better than than Sanyo VPC-FH1 I want to buy one, but I don't Know which one is better to get?

  • Wow, pretty cool camera. Two disappointing things about this model: 1) Proprietary connections, that's annoying. Who wants to keep up with 4 different adaptors. Geez 2) Appears that the screen has to be open in order to record video. Small/sleek camera becomes akward and fragile with that thing sticking out there.

  • is the audio good

  • GREAT it works on mac!

  • Many Quality Cameras work on Mac

  • which one is older? sanyo xacti cg10? or this

  • Maybe a silly question, but how much does it weigh?

  • Where can i get this in canada for $300. Its like 700 everywhere i look :O HELP!

  • AMAZON they do not even ship to UK?...any one out there can tell me why...plzz

  • what camera is better? sanyo xacti cg-10 or sanyo xacti hd1010?

  • cg10 is better for the price but the sanyo hd1010 is still better and you can get it for 300 and something dollars which is 200 pounds

  • a cold shoe ? LMAFO its a hot shoe

  • @TheParallex No mate, it's a cold shoe. A cold shoe is a real thing - it's like a hot shoe but now power or connectors, just a bracket basically!

  • WOW THAT IS SO SEXY!!!

  • I'm getting this for Christmas and it was off of Amazon for $319.00 On sale. It's originally $649.99.

  • :O really??

    do they ship worldwid?

  • Yea, it's free shipping. They won't be running out of stock soon so you have time to get one!

  • i just looked and they dont ship to australia

  • O, well i guess you'll have to find it on another website.

  • I just order this camcorder Amazon has it today for $319.99

  • in the uk where i am they only sell the camcorder with a 4gb sd card and a hdmi card all for £339.99 they dont sell the camcorder by its self. well they do but its called sanyo vpchd1010ebk. is that the same as sanyo xacti hd1010?

  • The one I bought was from Amzon in the USA. Sanyo Xacti HD1010 4MP MPEG4 High Definition 1080i/1080p Camcorder with 10x Optical Zoom. I had to buy my own memory card. Check your youtube message I'm sending you a direct link to amazon.

  • wallmart is $170

  • @DyeSwatForeign Walmart never had this model for $170

  • ive heard that it films in 300 fps hi speed, for slow motion effects, is that true?

  • Yes its true!

  • how much is this camera?

  • I got this info off amazon...

    About $700.00-$55.00$ U.S.

  • What program do you guys use to edit videos? i have sony vegas, but its a pain trying to always convert files to use on it. and i seem to lose quality. Is there any good editing programs out there that work with this camera??? even the Nero8 that comes with it is pretty limited for editing options and it doesnt work great either...

    thanks

  • Honestly, try final cut or even imovie.

  • asdf

  • So the camera DOES have a mic in? Or is that just a stereo jack out?

  • yea it has a mic in

  • Where you able to use the 32GB SD card in this camera after all?

  • awesome thank you so much, buying tomorrow

  • Hows it work =D?

  • how much was it?

  • can u film underwater

  • I can but not with this camera, it's not waterproof.

  • @leodee lol

  • now this is getting annoying which onte is water proof

  • The WH1

  • the CA9 is also waterproof version

  • the CA9 is also waterproof

  • Nice time to buy. Found one for $410

  • can it film in wide screen?

  • Yes, but you have to buy a wide lense if that's what you're asking.

  • It films in widescreen or you can choose non-widescreen, but that is not in HD then.

  • please insert a memory card

  • I usually convert to QT-MOV using Streamclip and never had problems with audio sync.. then I usually bring it into Vegas Pro 8 because these clips are not supported in FCP. I have worked with them IN Final Cut without doing any composits and made DVD's though.

  • I have converted the video to avi but the sound and pictures aren't synchronised (in windows media player ) - can anyone help on this please? I am very new to all this video stuff!!

  • howe much was it

  • Was about $700 at Frys in Ilinois.

  • be careful where you use and how you hold these as the pistol look makes the us cops a little edgy

  • thats also my question. can it upload vids onto windows movie maker?

  • does it come with video editing software and can u upload the videos and edit them in movie maker without having to convert them first plz thats the one thing i need to know also everyone says it never uploads in HD for some reason

  • would you say the 1010 is the best that sanyo make

  • Yes, this is the top end consumer model

  • Sanyo's got a 2000 out now.

  • there is not much difference.

  • hi,

I am looking at getting this cam and using it with the add-on wide angle lens but read in another review that this cam does not have a thread for add-on lenses. Can you confirm this either way?

    thanks.

  • i'm pretty sure that it does have the facility for the add on lenses, i am awaiting delivery also later today for me, this is why i cannot sleep, i am goint to put up some reviews of the hd1010 in the next few days so keep a look out for my reviews

  • Yes, I have a wide angle and a macro lens for mine.

  • Where's your H1010 review...? Not there.

  • Pretty much covered off the review with the Sample video and text on site. Wasnt much more to add between the HD1000 and the HD1010 that I couldn't round up in the video clips

  • hom much

  • Awesome - Mine's in the mail with Fedex - I can't wait to get it!

  • Thanks, very helpful. I'm gonna get one of these soon!

  • viewing this review i dont see any diference betwing the 1000.

  • Improved auto focus, stills now at higher res, ability to shoot at 300 fps, improved image stabiliser and more.

  • hi, like the video, i'm extremely interested in buying this awesome camera - there's just one thing i don't get: as i can see in this video the camera can shoot with 30 or 60 fps... see the thing is that i've seen loads of slow motion videos shot with the xacti hd1010, and the videos say that it's shot with 300 fps... i'm not sure what to make of it?? another thing is the manual focus - is there manual focus at all? if yes, then is it controlled with the joystick or what?

  • Yes, manual focus is controlled via the joystick. I've not tried the 300fps shooting yet but I'll try to get a sample video online.

  • one of the best reviews i have seen on youtube, well done matt

  • 1.18 - did not sound like you said docking station to me LOL - sounded like it began with a F......

nice camera though - I would be using it to record sport so i think it might get anoying to not have a strap to keep camera on your hand

  • can u manually rotate the lens and make it unfocus and focus like if ur taping a macro?

  • how much was this camera?

  • Perhaps but the reply was only intended to inform him / her that the facility is there.

  • @MALEKAMOVES - Yes you can use it in water.

Just Google Sanyo Xacti 1010 underwwater. There is a special housing for the camera. Also saw one video of it in use on Vimeo.

  • careful, some underwater cases are prone to slow leaks. One guy lost his hd1010 due to a bad case.

  • are there any possibilities using this puppy under water?with some extra components?

  • Very nice unboxing and review of the features. I have the Xacti HD1000 and it's the best camera I've ever owned. I was hoping the 1010 would be more of an upgrade so I'll wait at least another generation before upgrading. I'll be awaiting your vid where you tell the differences between the new and older generations. It really is unconsionable that Sanyo doesn't have an auto lens cover on such an expensive camera. And also a more powerful zoom. Cont.

  • Even though I love my HD100, if Canon's FS100was Hi-Def I'd have to go with it because of the zoom and the auto lens cover, and although an entirely different shape it's probably a similiar weight.

  • so what did you do about the lack of lens cover? i mean where can u buy one of those?

  • They do have a lens cap.

  • oh ok i guess i missed the point there. I've been speaking to some camera shops and apparently this model is not out in England yet... although I have found places to buy it online. How did you get yours?

  • It's a review unit from Sanyo

  • right does that mean Sanyo have hired you to make this youtube video? I've now bought the Sanyo HD1000 and have been having trouble with the picture when I play the imported clips in imovie. The footage looks jumpy and jerky, so that sometimes it looks like the people talking is lagging behind the movement of their lips. Have you experienced this? Do you know what is going wrong and how to fix it? Thanks.

  • No I am totally independent and dont get paid by Sanyo.

I have the HD1000 personally and use iMovie. Only problems I've ever had with it were down to the SD card, have you tried with another one?

  • No I've not tried another one. They are quite expensive and I don't think it is the SD card... because when I played the film on someone else's computer it ran quite smoothly. And now I have resized the clips on my computer to about half the size it does seem to run quite smoothly, which is nice; but seems such a shame to buy an HD camera and then find out it plays back jerkily in full hd mode.

  • New! The flashlight looking thingy that records HD video! New From Sayno! And only $700! you'll look like a goofball holding that. but quality is awesome.

  • I HAVE THIS!!!

  • gahh i want this camcorder. its like the best one!

wanna watch it in 300fps popping a water balloon. haha

  • it said 30 didn't it?

  • Nope 300FPS

  • how do you afford all this stuff?

  • the 300 fps thing is only with really bad image resolution....448 X 336

  • camcorderinfo says the image stabilizer is mediocre on the HD1010. Is that true?

  • I don't believe it. Had miine on the front of a moving train (clips will be uploaded soon) and other than being careful to hold the camera somewhat steady, the OIS seemed to work fine.

We bought a little hand holder extender for $10 at Calumet and this really helps to hold the camera a lot better.

  • Nice video. thanks. I just bought this camera yesterday. How are you editing the AVCHD?

  • I use iMovie and Final Cut mostly

  • Don't have Final Cut Studio yet, just Express. I'll have to try getting it into iMovie. Can't get the Log & Transfer to see the clips in FCE! I used MPEG Streamclip to get it into Express though.

  • It's not like you need final cut, or a mac for those who think you do. Tons of AVCHD editing programs for pc. People will rave and tell you it's mac or nothing, but it's not true at all. Kind of like a sickness how a trend spreads for no reason, lol.

  • Mmm... that's true. But I'm getting a Mac anyway... does this camera connect ok and work with the mac?

  • Now bought the HD1000 and 24inch iMac. But I've had trouble on iMovie so far, and if anyone else has and has solved the problem please let me know what you did. My trouble was that in full HD mode the computer played the clips in a jerky, jumpy way, so it looks like fractions of film are missing.

  • Like I say, I think you might find this is down to the speed of your SD card you might need a better on. I was using a no-name SD initially and had problems with only green being transferred to the MAC but with a decent SanDisk Extreme card its fine!

  • if u research the web, mac pc's do not support the sanyo hd camcorders, they will not read the files accordingly

  • While I love my Xacti-1010 it's NOT an AVCHD camera. It's a HD form of MP4 ACV/H264. You'll need a freebie software, Mpeg Streamclip to convert the files so you can edit tiem (mov or AVI plus other choices). Streamclip is available for both PC and MAC. Final Cut's log an transfer will not see these files because they're MP4 and not M2T files.

I am able to edit the converted files in both Final Cut Express on my Mac and in Vegas on my PC with no problems at all. Gorgeous pictures.

  • Hi I have downloaded the streamclip and converted the mpeg-4 file from my xacti to avi - Do you know how I can get the sound to synchronise with the pictures?

  • whats the batt life on the Sanyo Xacti HD1010. how long can you use it befor it dies totaly? And do i have to use a class 6 card to get the good flow when i recod to full HD or is any card good ?

  • Awesome quality video using your HD100. May I ask what you set your format and resolution when you upload to youtube?

  • I record at 720p and process the video at 640x360

  • Thanks alot, excited to see when you start using that HD1010

  • Nice job on the unboxing! Keep these videos coming.

  • this cam is a pure waste of money, you will have a better quality and photography feature by getting an SX1 IS for less money too. thumbs down Sanyo. And there Image stabilization is horrible, check my vids for more details

  • Well I dont know about the IQ on the SX1 but it's massive isn't it? Not sure that it would be fair to compare them anyway.

  • What camera do you normally use to record your videos for YouTube?

  • I use either the Xacti HD1000 or the Sony HDR-SR11

  • Thanks just wanted to know.

  • coool can i get 1 in the usa
