I have this EXACT sound outside our house, too. It's been going on nightly for the last four or five nights. I'd love to know what it is. I live in the San Gabriel Valley in the greater Los Angeles region, and there are no bodies of water nearby...

well its a bat. I've seen it flying at this park at night a couple of times.

Bats dont usually make audible noise when dorment or in flight unless confronted by sudden danger. Besides, it sounds like birds
