CrossFit is one tool in a toolbox for developing an athlete. I find it is great for GPP and developing a base of fitness in untrained individuals. Almost everyone will benefit from adding barbell lifts with linear progression on top of it. CrossFit is like any other methodology...it can be used well or done poorly.

Crossfit is simply silly, i dont understand how so many people involved just so they can do High volumes of medium intensity activities like pull ups, bw squats, isometrics, only for the shear purpose of getting better at doing pull ups, bw squats, and isometrics. How this appeals to people i do not know.. just because you can do a shit ton of pull ups and bw squats and maybe 200 reps of of weight that is 3% of your 1RM doesn't make you the FITTEST people on the planet it.. makes you stupid
@dvivgaauto you're looking at the means and not the ends, or you have had a bad affiliate experience. I do crossfit and I squat 405 lbs and run a 5k in 19:53. What's important to me is being very good at a multitude areas of fitness. Why it appeals to me is because I don't want to be the biggest or the strongest and not be good at something else. Crossfit appeals to people who don't want to specialize.
@mikeypsvcc I am actually, I never said that I was very fast, nor very strong, I am a solid combination of both. Prey tell what is your age 5k speed and max squat?
@madmardygan Im 24, squat 425ish, and ran an 18:19 5K about 4 months ago despite only playing basketball for any type of cardio/endurance training because running is not fun at all to me and cycling is gay. I weight 198 today so im def. not 115 lbs. I don't get on youtube and try to brag about myself or anything, u asked. I was just saying that 19:53 isn't very fast at all for someone who is bragging about it.

I mean look at what's happening to our society, when i was young the fat kids were 1 maybe 2 total, now it's half the class and they're bigger than before. CrossFit (mainsite anyway) does not program strength training properly, random smattering of 5x5, 1x7, 3x5 etc with no linear progression means newbies will never get a decent level of strength. Do you have a 2X BW back squat? If not, CF has failed you as a strength & conditioning program.
