  • very nice video! I assume this is fast motion, am I right?

  • @wynstonsmyth Hi there! :) Thanks for your comment. Yes it is :) It's at x10 speed, the display itself though was quite fast at times. I wonder whether I set it too fast as there's a lot of movement in the video! hehe

  • Definitely seeing this before I die. Thanks for the video. Absolutely beautiful. :)

  • @Tomaji Thanks Tomaji :) With some time off before christmas I'm going to edit the video, add some music and try and use some more stable sequences! haha :)

  • Oh I would love to see this!! Best time of year? Best place? any suggestions??

  • Lovely video, I recommend you combine it next time with a classical song, would be a great touch! Thank you for uploading this though! I hope I'll see an aurora someday as well.

  • @PurpleWitchAla Thanks for the kind comment hehe :) I've actually been meaning to do that but never find the time :( Always the case isn't it hehe :) I certainly hope you do get to see it someday soon good luck!

  • SO FUCKING BEAUTIFULL !! I Hope Thass Real Cus IIf It Is , Its To Die For

  • That is so... PREEEEETTYYYYYY... 8 D I wish I could see one for myself. Oh, and watch out for Deoxys!

  • Must see this before I die!!

  • so unreal

  • oh man, i gotta see these for myself now

  • Hi aeroflying :) Yes there are certain times of the year. Although the aurora is actually present all year round, we can't always see them due to daylight. The best time to see the lights is between September to April roughly where there are less hours of light in the day. They can be seen in areas far north of 60 degrees latitude approx. Northern Norway, Finland and Sweden, Northern Canada, Northern Russia, Alaska :) Good luck!

  • omg, its not a fake, either! ur lucky to see this for real!!!

  • @Rooren1 definately not fake hehe :D It's so much more impressive when they're really active and start to dance around the sky and change to purple, white, greens etc :) It's amazing

  • @Rooren1 Hi Rooren :) Thanks! It was an amazing experience. I myself have looked for real aurora videos and it's not always that easy to come across them. So I decided to do some research and ended up buying the Canon XH A1 which apparently could record low light video pretty well. Not professional work by any means but glad I captured them! :)

  • Are there only certain times and places this can be seen? How can I see this?

  • I wanna see it someday !!!! It's really nice!!!

  • I THINK

  • they start when then the suns rays hit the earth but somethin makes the rays go around

  • I remember back when I was like in 10th or 11th grade.....I think 11th in like 05......I saw a pale bluish green halo around the moon. Wish I had a camera cuz it was so beautiful! LoL thats the closest I'll get to seeing any Northern Lights aw man =(. Just watching it on video makes your heart race a little cuz it's kind of ominous, so imagine seeing it in person!

  • It is an amazing show of nature to behold :) I definately recommend you travel north at some point in your life and dedicate your stay to trying to see them :) You won't regret it.

  • I love the way it lights up the trees! I would like to have seen more of the trees and lights ... the trees gave the lights a physical context.

  • is this fast forwarded?? or it really moves that fast?

  • HI Yahzine20,

This is fastforwarded at 2x :) It was a fast display

  • @yahzine20 My buddy lives in Alaska. The Northern lights he told me about actually did move fast. In fact, he was scared because the lights weren't just up there, they would move about violently. Sometimes it looked as if these beams of lights were "coming at him".

  • whoah....

  • That was great i love the little purple mix =D

  • so awesome!!.. i wish i live there

  • This is a great vid, but next time, if you could move the camera a little more smoothly, those sharp jerks from viewpoint to viewpoint are very distracting.

  • Thanks for comments and stars everyone,

yea gakoranus that part sucks :/ I just got so excited :P must keep still next time haha :D

  • @Sabrina9408 that was so incredible sabi....great camera work i understand being excited after watching something like that.....wish i could have seen it in real life...thanks for sharing it...

  • We have northern lights here in Sweden as well, though I've never seen one quite that massive. But this is breath taking, it never fails to amaze me how beautiful it is, every time I see it. Greetings from Lapland, Sweden

  • where is that ? where in canada ?

  • Hi Knightrlz :)

This was at Grace Lake, in Yellowknife, Canada

  • is so far from montreal right ? =/

  • Wow stunning indeed lucky people who see it.On life experience :D
