The song is about escape, driving...putting everything between you and whatever, i suppose...the lyrics were intended to evoke images that the music summoned...disappointing i'm sure, but lyrics often are.

That's not really what I imagine when I hear this song. The lyrics tell a very specific story.

The singer says something like:
Who told you you can't drive?
Who told you, you can't try?
Drive until you can't feel any pain
But the vocals are too deep into the mix to really understand it.
