That is the typical "USAG" walk ... it is the proper way of exiting the floor or other apparatus to show respect to the sport and judges. Most gymnasts are taught that around level 4.
execution is how well the gymnast performs the skill. like here, shawn's double double was under-rotated. her triple was just barely around. and her ring could get higher. those are some things they probably took off for execution.
Yang Yilin is extremely constant and her progression is awesome on 4 events, maybe not the gold but she could easily medal, her new fx routine is just gorgeus. It'll be difficult for Xiao to make the team, too much amazing chinese gymnasts around. But, no doubt, the sensation on the AA competition will be Jiang Yuyuan, she's just adorable and at the moment I believe She has the most higher AA difficulty (addition of A scores of the 4 events: 6.3 FX, 7.2 UB, 6.5 VT, 6.8 BB ) of the whole world.
i agree, i think jiang yuyuan could medal in the aa and could upset cheng fei on fx but she hasnt been very consistant on bars and beam. i think the ub title will go to he kexin

I totally agree with you! I don't compare powerful gymnasts to graceful gymnasts, there really is just no argument for who's better. Shawn's powerful and has high scoring routines, but Nastia's graceful and has elegance and flow in hers. They're completely different gymnasts and I like them both for their different styles.
She scored a freaking 16.6...that was ridiculously high, and you're saying she could have easily scored over 17.0?? Has anyone ever scored over 17.0? Anyway, Shawn still has a slightly higher start value total. So as a matter of math, or absolutes she has the advantage.

second of all even if shawn does have a slightly higher SV (i think its only a tenth or so higher though). then it goes to execution. even though shawn has good form i think nastia can beat her there. anywayss we'll see in beijing!! im so excited!

ok hipster, lets do some math. shawn finished 3 tenths behind nastia at am cup, if she had not fallen she would have got 8 tenths back placing her 5 tenths in front of nastia. and nastia made way more than 5 tenths of uncharacteristic mistakes on bars. she lost 2 in start value and at least 5 tenths on that dismount, plus her uncharateristic OOB on vault.

I think she's still going to. I think she just kept it in there because it was just the beginning of the season and she's still working on her new routine.

I think they overscored at Europeans too! But I know these girls deserve to get high scores... no one gets a high score because of lack of effort!

ok hipster, lets do some math. shawn finished 3 tenths behind nastia at am cup, if she had not fallen she would have got 8 tenths back placing her 5 tenths in front of nastia. and nastia made way more than 5 tenths of uncharacteristic mistakes on bars. she lost 2 in start value and at least 5 tenths on that dismount, plus her uncharateristic OOB on vault.

I LOVE her whip triple! I love how she can flip AND twist, she's just so powerful and completely awesome. =] I can't wait to see her new routine!
