  • I applied to be their Bass player but alas........

  • I got this song free with a copy of nme.....fuck me music mattered then

  • COMERCIALS?!?!?!!?!?!

    BOOO THUMBS DOWN!!!

  • I discovered this band tonight, and is it wrong to say my life musically is changed? i think not. Frazers voice is so unique and every song i've listened to so far is uplifting and terribly beautiful. I'm in love

  • Rarely has an album so well wore its title for it's a real "Treasure"!

  • Still brings chills. I love how Robin admitted that he was not very good at guitar when they first started out so he used effects. Look what it produced. Amazing. No Cocteau Twins = no Slowdive and other bands of that era. Thank God Cocteau Twins existed because I love the followers as well.

  • Bring back my youth!...........saw them live in Portsmouth about 1989.

  • W *_* O *_* W

  • 6 dislikes, wtf? are u kidding me? gee this is about the most beautiful piece of music ever.....aaahhh dislike

  • Liz's lips say more to me than any of her "lyrics" ever did.

  • I was working in a record store and a sales rep gave me this record when it was released. I've been hooked ever since. Elizabeth Fraser renders me speechless.

  • Perfeição!

  • You'll be telling me next this songs about the guy that owned 4AD!!!!

  • Love it

  • Even if no other art existed in this world, this song alone would be proof that humankind is capable of creating things of beauty <3

  • Jesus Christ Almighty, that woman can sing!

  • Loved this album since the 80s

  • so angelically badass

  • wow... i'm glad deftones like cocteau twins, they got me into them. ^^ this is the first ct song i listened to. love it.

  • I LOVE it!! It makes you value the sound of music again. The more I listen the more I love it!

  • I dont ever doubt this tunes pedigree, however I remember getting it free with a copy of the NME with some tune from Bronski Beat.

That aside..its still music alchemy and beautiful.

  • Treasure is my fav Cocteau Twins album

  • so good...

It makes me feel I need to reach for something more ...... so good :)

  • 久しぶりに聞いたが、やはり素晴らしい。

  • This is weird. It's like... I don't like it, but for some reason I can't stop listening to it o.O

  • @prisionnerofsociety

Give it time. It will grow on you.

  • @prisionnerofsociety -About the time you decide being a prisoner is better left to others is probably about the time you will admit to yourself that the reasons you cant stop listening will become apparent.

  • @prisionnerofsociety that was what happened when i first heard it. XD

  • This band produced the most amazing music ever !! Jaw droppingly good!!

  • this...album was gorgeous

  • 4ad had the best artwork for their artists available to them...cocteau twins are simply amazing there is no other and never will be...for me even after 20 plus years they still move me in a way that i cant describe...music today pales in comparison...WTF happened to music today?

  • @PsyJunk Well Ivo- welcome to one of the best alt.bands ever. ;)

  • @dawnvictoria1 yes- the vinyl sounds a bit more warm to the ear as it was originally recorded for the analog-era, but I find that if I boost the bass and midrange on my cd-computer-system's graphic equalizer it warms the sound back up. Hell I'd listen to the Cocteau Twins even if it were coming out of a tin can..! ;)

  • I was living in Strasbourg when I got introduced to the CTs in 1985. That was the start of an enduring love for this band. I don't expect that Julie will ever see this comment, but thanks, Julie! Hope you're well and happy, wherever you are.

  • @bufon63 Ain't it grand?

    cocteautwinsloversoftheworldunite&takeover.

    ;)

  • Masterpiece!!!!

  • simple beautiful music.

  • Hermosa, amor puro por esta canción ♥

  • Know exactly what you mean jamallus, i used to fall asleep listening to John Peel on radio 1 at night in the hope he would play some Cocteau's tracks.

I actually wore out my first Cocteau Twins tape (treasure) as i used to listen to it every night in bed .

  • My hair stands on the back of my neck every time I hear this song's ending!

I love the CT's like no other band I've ever heard.....And I'm a Black Man!

Was listening to radio station WFMU out of N.J. one night, fell asleep studying for an exam, and in my sleep I could hear the strains of Liz's voice, with the beautiful gauzy sound of the Last track of the "Moon & the Melodies"LP.

Woke up to to it, and have been a fan of theirs ever sense!

  • @Jamallus music isn't representative of one's race, sir. Good music is good regardless of genre.

  • I could listen to this album over and over 100 times

  • You just don't want it to stop.

  • me encanta.. recuerdo q lo escuchaba de niña .. .

  • One of the greatest 80's gems... The Cure, OMD, Flock Of Seagulls, Siouxsie, Bauhaus.... so much greatness..

  • 3 People were probably in the accident in the cover...

    Thumbs up if you agree!

  • This is the first time I've ever listen to a song from the group and I'm completely in love with it !

  • Addictive

  • ...still touching

  • Comment removed

  • Can you imagine it? A band releasing music for FOURTEEN years without a single misstep, a single weak album? This is heaven, original, sweet, strong...heaven.

  • I am sure that I've heard this more than 10,000 times and I am still wondering how it is possible to create such beauty

  • loved this album never realised she was actually singing real words

  • @joys67 I knew they'd be a disappointment! I've always been sure Liz sang my name several times and now I know I'm wrong. I still totally love it though.

  • I have always thought that if I could understand the lyrics they would be a disappointment when it all sounds so sublime!

  • Don't even try to decipher, just lie back and appreciate that life is better on hearing a glimpse of heaven. Pure punk.

  • GREaT, ...didnt find the cure mountain

  • @latzky LOL. Um. You can't "google" for lyrics that were never printed.

  • @latzky About 90% of any Cocteau Twins "lyrics" you find are only interpretations/guesses by listeners, because about 90% of their lyrics were never printed. "We have had people on the Internet who have written translations and they obviously have a natural talent for writing. Their interpretations are so beautiful that sometimes I have preferred what they have written to what I actually sang, it has been much more eloquent."

  • @madsketcher Mate you're right there. I met Rob and Liz many times and take it from me there are no real lyrics just wee bits and pieces of words that sounded right...G...

  • i love it. first time hearing it but i like it. makes me think about everything in my life right now. even though i don't know what they are say ing i love it.

  • goosebumps just listening to this CT track. Bought Treasure first then all of the album subsequently............ out of this world!

  • i remember buying the album when i was about 17. Absolute classic

  • Fraser's voice and her manner of signing have been a revolution for my mind in the 1980's. It's already an angel for me.

  • ....quanti ricordi....... :-))))

  • one of my favorite openers to one of my favorite albums for all eternity;)

I was 20 years old when it came out (VINYL!), I put it on my turntable and my jaw dropped open and stayed that way through every track. I'd never flipped and fallen so hard for any band before (or since). I felt like I was being told the most alt.seductive musical secrets in the world; this album is sublime musical alchemy of the most rarified order. and i still have the vinyl w/nary a fookin scratch!

    ;)

  • @auteuricon me 2......

  • @auteuricon Your experience mirrors mine exactly

  • @auteuricon

You my friend had a very special induction to "Cocteau" ! What a lot of people dont understand is that when you have a good turn table, and needle, speakers etc. the music sounded is still does, so much better. You can hear instruments, that you don't hear on C.D.S'. But the point is to hear it on vinyl for the first time is phenomenal. I was 15 when it came out so the first time I heard them was on community radio. But still they grabbed me by the throat and have never let go.

  • @auteuricon dude, I found that song (and the band for that matter) a couple of mounts ago, and what do U think my reaction was, my name i Ivo too...freakin' jawdropping for sure....love the song love the band...

  • great album that pass the test of time and i'm one of the choosen few to appreciate this kind of music! more music to discover!

  • my love to beth

  • Even the album cover was ahead of its time

  • @karler my love to beth and her 4ad

  • @karler ...actually!!

  • One of the greatest songs ever recorded! One amazing album! The voice = Heaven!

    I miss the Cocteau Twins.

  • Top 100 definitively, mine Top 10

  • One of my best mates is named Ivo, here in Kolin, Czech Republic. He's 65, I told him about this song, he was impressed.

  • SIMPLEMENTE COCTEAU TWIS <3

  • hei, elisabeth frazer is metaphysically beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • She is so special, so..unique..its wonderful to listen to her.

  • @malagasiti indeed!! :)

  • The treasure album is up there with the best ever, mind blowing from start to finish

  • Hehe lol my name is Ivo

  • I used to list to this album so much when I was a teenager, then they fell off my collection in the change to digital didn’t play anything of theirs for ages, then came across Pearly Dew Drops which got me started again... can’t think why I ever stopped listening to them. Just such good music. I’ve already started downloading every album they ever did!!!

  • Ivooo , foreverrrrrr i love thissss

  • 80's Goth anthem. Exciting.

  • @MegaVideodrome Cocteau Twins aren't Goth, their first two albums were, but their later albums Treasure up to their last album Milk and Kisses borders on Ethereal and Dream Pop Music.

  • Her voice is so mystic, first song I heard of Cocteau Twins, it captured me instantly

  • @Danyhg92 What was it?

  • Best Album ...

  • I like this song, but I don't understand how people say this was their best album. I personally liked Heaven or Las vegas and Head over Heals more.

  • @JayRose1000 That's the beauty of CT - mine are Victorialand and Four Calender Cafe and my friend prefer's Wax and wane mood.

  • heaven or las vegas best album by far, four calendar cafe also up there what a band!!!! timeless relevant then and into the future

luv and respect to all twins fans we understand music

  • @martin999355 I'm really enjoying her solo album. And I agree.

  • heaven !!!

  • awesome song :O

  • I don't thing Treasure should be among the best 100 albums ever... It must be THE BEST ALBUM EVER !

  • CT Real.......near.......forever

  • @TheCocteautwin1975

A goth vibe? I find that interesting due to the fact that this album

and much of the twins music was released years before that word

was part of the vernacular. It speaks to just how avant gard Cocteau

    Twins really were!

  • My Fave Cocteau Twins Song !

  • i bought it when released, still love it xXx

  • Beautiful!!

  • Ee don dillary doh

  • fantastičn0!!

  • I have the vinyl bought at the time and I just love it!

  • They remind me of Lisa Gerrard, in the use of the voice as an instrument.

    Classic tunes

  • I think that this album should be among the best 100 albums ever!

  • I think Top 10 and same with Heave or Las Vegas...

  • @fzkny along with victorialand

  • @fzkny It already is !!! Depends of course who you ask. Its a fucking great album.

  • love this track and album....just dowwnloaded it from itunes and takes me back to my young adult life living in portsmouth and hanging around with some very strange people that loved an alternate lifestyle who were the best friends i ever made and will never forget

  • @fzkny

maybe the top 100 most influential albums of alternative music, but come on now

  • @fzkny The best 10 albums ever! :)

  • @fzkny in the top 10 best 100 albums ever, definitely. Strange, it wasn't even a proper album as such, more them messing around and filling in the gap. Stop forcing it and the genius will flow :)

Nostalgia! Bons tempos!!! Valeu!

  • this song makes you wish it would never end, which is why it's on repeat.

  • Saw Cocteau Twins in 1991 in a Church on Rachel in Montreal. Surreal. Mazzy Star opened for them.

  • I had tickets for that but couldn't make it. Saw them later at Metropolis.

  • Best track on "Treasure"

Not my favorite album from the twins but still solid.

  • Pura nostalgia!

    Muito envolvente!

    Amo!

  • they have such remarkable vocal power, and their music carries the weight of emotion so well. i adore this song.

  • I discovered the Cocteau Twins thanks to my dear teenage friend Gabrielle. I can never thank her enough for turning me on to such wondrous and ethereal Heaven on Earth. I miss you Gabby. And I miss this band. I wish they would amaze the world (their fans) with a brand new album. That would make me the happiest Starr on Earth. Thanks for posting this, I loved it.

    <3 Shayla in Indiana, USA

  • Just listen to everything CT made.

    Enjoy!

  • hi type in on youtube (the cranes adoration) i think you will like the cranes also if you havent heard them already that is.

  • Very, very, very & more very awesome. CT (still) rule :-)!

  • yeah!

  • awesome song

  • Reminds me of the countless hangovers I and my other friends endured after waking up after a party. They usually went well into the morning, post-sunset.

    Ah, yes. Youth. :)

  • *post-sunrise

    No, I wasn't a vampire.

  • sooo creepy and haunting! i love it!

  • Haunting song--CT really big on the planet Kasterberuss-i just got back !!

  • Peep hole, Peach blow, Pandora, Pompadour Pale leaf, Pink sweet, Persephone. Near our rito Peep peep hole, Bit animal, Peep peep He didn't deal, little rito, Peep peep hole With the part animal, Peep peep, Near our rito Peep peep hole, Bit animal, Peep peep He didn't deal, little rito Peep peep hole With the part animal Predentive, Predo Pra-da-da-dee
  • where your saying rito its ivo! lol <3 it does sound nothing like ivo though lol

  • shh of course it's ivo...but who would know that? ;-)

  • it could be pee-hole !

  • remember the remix on the nme ep anyone??

  • I had some of the best sex with this music.

  • Same!! This album and Heaven or Las Vegas..They were quite the band to bone to, ha ha.

  • me too ;-)

  • Actually, i don't think it was gibberish...not until the really heavy heroin years. I remember them on tour with Modern English...must have been in 81-ish. Went to see them in North London early 90's and tried hard not to cry ! She'd not long kicked the drugs i think and every song was a revelation...so much for smack making you more interesting.

  • I'd forgotten how brilliant this album was, thanks for reminding me.

  • I remember buying this album over 20yrs ago! And i still play it from time to time! Can't beat vinyl! What a band these were! My brother seen them supporting OMD back in 1983!

  • Nice trip music !

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE Cocteau Twins!

  • BRAVO!!

  • its why its called shoegazer

  • haha i dun understand a shit of what she's saying

had to look for the lyrics and found like 5 different lyrics of the same song :P

guess ill have to take everything that matched in all the lyrics found... and make myself the rest -.-'

  • The whole point is that you make your own mind up about it Stop looking for answers! There are none.

  • Elizabeth Frazier sings gibberish! That's why you can't understand it, mate. It's all made up, which is part of the appeal.

  • its such a tease though, because her musics so good you just wanna sing it but cant b.c you have no idea what to sing!

  • but you can.

  • rubbish.you can find lyrics on-line.

  • @latzky I beg to differ. Most Cocteau Twins "lyrics" are not in any language. CT is my favorite band of all time, so if there were lyrics, I would know them. Frazier sings gibberish or chants, so does Lisa Gerrard of Dead Can Dance, among others. Please post the lyrics to this song if you say they exist, and we'll consider the matter settled.

  • Damn, that sounded good! Especially toward the end of the song!

  • Last 50 seconds are so full of energy...

  • .extremamentilly feminin

one of the best 80s rockgroups .

  • ^^ esta banda me hace sentir bien
