Elvis and Tom were good friends, this rendition of Tom's version is stunning and I would be happy if Tom would record this on his next CD.

Tom and Elvis were very close. This song starts and ends with "put on my blue suede shoes". The whole part just about Elvis is fantastic..."waiting for the King in the jungle room!". Did you know Elvis was awarded the W.C. Handy award? Elvis and Memphis go hand in hand. Did you know there an official Elvis Day in Memphis? Loved this version of Tom singing Walking in Memphis.  I felt he was singing it in honor of Elvis. I heard him sing it in 1998 the first time I saw him live.
