To Evans: congrats on a well done film. Im indo but i dont see why this movie deserves so much credit. I mean yea its all about action but damn, the amount of violence portrayed in this movie?? Simply unfuckingbelievable!! too much gore and shit
@dormytorry: I'm an action junkie and when you look at the classics John Woo directed in Hong Kong, compared with the sanitary approach by Hollywood, it's no wonder people can't wait to see The Raid. A credit to Gareth who wanted to get away from the boring Yanks and do something fresh. And why shouldn't there be blood and violence? No one said those elite cops would have it easy :-)
@landgabriel If The Raid is half as good as I've heard and the studios don't crush his creativity, with a Hollywood budget, he could make something amazing.
We can wait for BERANDAL (The Sequel of THE RAID) to see. Sony has purchased remake rights for THE RAID and Gareth receive considerable amount of money for his next project, BERANDAL. Probably not as expensive as average Hollywood action movies but definitely worth to wait. :)
@sempoyon82 I'm immensely interested to see THE RAID, though after hearing about the mucking Sony plans to do with the US release (GRRR!), I might wait until I can buy the import DVD.
Paul Greengrass of the Bourne films; are you listening to Gareth? No quick edits, mmmm?
