I've read somewhere that Phil Spector produced this cover on purpose with John. He didn't want another Ronnette sounding cover, he wanted something dirty and more shocking. John was the perfect man for his plan.

@MyDreamside You can find this on The John Lennon Anthology". John had recorded this with Phil Spector producing in 1973 but wasn't happy with how it turned out, so he left it off the official release of "Rock And Roll". It also was on a bootleg called "Roots: John Lennon Sings The Great Rock And Roll Hits".
