Russia didn't recognise them for long 17 yrs after Georgia attacked Abkhazia and then South Ossetia. Last invasion of Georgian troops there was the evidence that Georgia doesn't want to solve the conflict peacefully. So Russia recognised them as USA did to our ally Serbia(Kosovo) and sent heavy armored troops there to respond to any further attacks.
I guess if Saakashvili will make one more mistake then further attack of South Ossetia will result in occupation of all Georgia by Russian troops.

People couldn`t go anywhere, my family was trapped not far from Tbilisi. Thanks god, there was enough food and water. There was no cell phone connection, no internet. We waited Russia to attack Tbilisi city, that would be disaster. My friends(not soldiers,but students,common citizens) where getting ready to protect the city.Thanks god, we survived.

Russia didn't recognise them for long 17 yrs after Georgia attacked Abkhazia and then South Ossetia. Last invasion of Georgian troops there was the evidence that Georgia doesn't want to solve the conflict peacefully. So Russia recognised them as USA did to our ally Serbia(Kosovo) and sent heavy armored troops there to respond to any further attacks.
I guess if Saakashvili will make one more mistake then further attack of South Ossetia will result in occupation of all Georgia by Russian troops.

Nope they didn`t bombed only military objects. They occupied city Gori, part of Samegrelo(where all my realtives are) and all the roads. People couldn`t go anywhere, my family was trapped not far from Tbilisi. Thanks god, there was enough food and water. There was no cell phone connection, no internet. We waited Russia to attack Tbilisi city, that would be disaster. My friends(not soldiers,but students,common citizens) where getting ready to protect the city.Thanks god, we survived.

From infromation I've got from friends which have informal sources in our army they confirmed there was an order after Gori to move,capture Tbilicy and Saakashvily ass... but the order was cancelled later...

I've seen Abkhazs killed Georgians in Abkhazia, I've heard about they played football by cutted heads at the stadium in 1992. Ossetians fought against Georgian troops at Tskinvali. Also I remember the Zar Road tragedy when 30 Ossets were killed by Georgians It doesn't look like friendship.
