  • Based on what you have said would this assumption be correct?

    If an alien being were it visit who could "see" a color that we couldn't and that alien gave us the formula for the oscillation of buzzing neurons we would know that color? This is under much of the assumptions that one would follow for "What Mary Didn't Know".

  • Another illusion inbedded with this idea is causality. Neurons can't cause thought if this theory is right. The brain is like heads on a coin. The mind is tail.

    What you describe is the monistic neutralism btw. Something like the middle of materialism and solipsism.

  • Brilliant! Yes, you've put you finger on the problem exactly. Scientific materialism is just one way to organize the world. It CANNOT come to grips with our subjective experience of the word, so it attempt to render it a completely physical "thing" because materialism can only concern itself with material existence.
