well who gets credit as the song writer if it id C.C. alone these guys should just go back to being middle aged grand pa's. if they are listed as song writers then pay them.
I was there - CC wrote the song by himself and though there were some other gems that the band collaborated on, Talk Dirty To Me was not one of them. The most amazing thing to me is how incredibly good looking that singer is!!!
CC wrote it. Those other guys were in a band that covered a song that was already written by CC Deville. I am sure he arranged it as well. I think CC's guitar was the defining product in this band anyway. It is the only thing that clearly stands out in this video and he definitely achieved the sound in a much greater venue with Poison. Whether the others like it or not...they were players in the revolution of "Band World" that got the opportunity to play with a guitarist like C.C. Deville.
C.C wrote the song so what's the problem? This was over 20 years ago, these guys must be broke asses so now they want to try and cash in, most likely not going to happen. Poison's super lawyers Vs these guys public defender, I like Poison's chances, plus they made the song famous, these guys sound like shit anyway, C.C was lucky to find Poison.
I remember hearing about this years ago. Whats funny is I also remember hearing about how before Poison made it to the sunset strip, they use to drive to Baltimore Maryland to see the band Kix. Steve Whiteman and several other members of the band said that Poison stole there stage show and began using it around PA and later on the sunset strip. This happens all the time.
If CC wrote the song...no beef....they will have a hard time proving this one. If Poison did steal the song, pay up. This shit happens all the time with bands.
There's been a lot in the hard rock news about this. So what? CC performed a song he wrote with another band he was in.CC should be able to perform the song with whoever he likes. If other people wrote it why didn't they sue Poison in 1986? They've had over 25 years to sue them. Poison did steal the chorus of 'I want action' from a song called 'We go rocking' from Kee Marcello's (later of the band Europe) old band Easy Action. Poison paid a settlement for that.
and no D'molls never did a version from what I know...Billy wasn't really thrilled with his former bandmates massive success due to their first big single that Billy wrote half of & never got a penny for..If you're asking how I know this, it's because Billy's a close friend of my family & trust me, he's no Poison fan.
C.C. did right the Lyrics but the drummer, Billy Dior (McCarthy), put the arrangement together. C.C. found Dior while he was the drummer for Kid Rocker in LA in the early 80's and begged him to let him be in his band. They went on to form Screamin' mimi's where they Co-Wrote "Talk Dirty To Me" in Dior's studio. Screamin' mimi's failed & C.C. joined Poison. One thanksgiving at Bob Ezrin's house in LA, Rikki Rockett approached Dior & told him they just started filming a Vid for "TDTM"..BullShit!!!
