  • have you had any problems with this engine at all i am looking at buying one and heard they had some problems

  • @farmerbrightwell I can say that my experience has been 99% positive. I have owned this truck for about 80K miles. It has 145K on it now and all that I have done is replaced a leaking intercooler and replace a camshaft position sensor. Change those oil and fuel filters often and make sure that you have gauges to keep track of boost and EGT's.

  • i just came in my pants AWESOME!

  • i just came in my pants AWESOME!!!

  • How tall are you?

  • @sagius 6'7" tall.

  • Yup, I am am a Powersmoker ...

  • never been much of a fan for powerstrokes, but that did sound amazing.

  • I love that sound

  • whats the point to a high idle?

  • @quadkid4 Heater warms up quicker, AC cools down quicker, prevents "wet stacking" when idling for extended periods, sounds cool, impresses the Chevy and Dodge guys when you flip that switch...

  • +1 on the removal / modified design flaws and the 6.0L is down right awesome diesel engine. Great sounding whistle bud!

  • Comment removed

  • i dont know much about engins, so how to you get more smoke and a loud turbo whisle out of your truck?

  • @FORDandDEERE Turbo sound comes from a free-flowing exhaust... Smoke comes from computer programming mainly.

  • @tallfarmboy love the turbo whistle!!!!! so wat exactly is the "free-flowing exhaust". i am not a diesel or a turbo guy lol. i cant wait to get a turbo powerstroke soon.

  • @1995bronco302 he probly means straight through, mandrel bent, no baffles, no catalytic converter

  • Awesome people have to know that the 6.0 is a great engine (compared to the 7.3.) It just has a few design flaws, not bad parts. Don't get me wrong I like the 7.3. But the 6.0 is my favorite.

  • ITS ALIVE!

  • nice choice for FOrd but bad choice on engine 7.3 is the only way to go.

  • ford definatly has the best turbo whistle

  • What did you do to make the turbo sound like that? Sounds awesome

what all is done to the truck?

  • @SicSixString The VGT Variable Geometry Turbo makes all the 6.0 liters do that. Sounds like he straight piped it though

  • Like this video if you think 6.0's are better than 5.9's

  • This is"music" I can listen to all day long

  • so much sound and so little power

  • ebpv

  • @pimpinitcj FYI, no EBPV on this truck... The last year that IH used the EBPV was on the 1994-1997 7.3L Powerstroke diesels...

  • @tallfarmboy

um actually they used them in the 7.3 right till production ended

  • @crackT444E

I stand corrected... They are on all 7.3L PSD equipped trucks... 1994-2003.5

However, there was a factory option in 1999 and 2000 that deleted the EBPV... that option was removed later.

  • ITS AN ABRAHMS, LOL

  • what the hell is coming off of your mud flap at 1:35 when u rev it ha im on the fence between an 05 cummins and an 03 or 04 6.0 i really dont want a head gasket problem but then again i like the body styles of a stroker would u care to help me out ha

  • @Helmers5 You have a keen eye, grasshopper.... but that is just dust. Here in SW MO, we have plenty of dusty dirt roads, it builds up everywhere, and with the proper vibrations, it slides off... You should see our school buses!

  • Dude i had 03 just like that but it was white sounded just like it fuck i miss that whistle

  • The turbo sounds Awesome!!!!!!!!! Not much of a Ford guy but nice sound great.

  • Why do people fight over trucks so much? I mean I get you have your favorites, I love the Duramax; but I mean you don't see me telling this guy his powerstroke is a piece of shit just because its a Ford? All trucks have there advantages and problems, and there all about the same in all honesty.

  • @JTyler52 True... I am a big "diesel" fan.... in fact, I would take a Cummins diesel over any other... but I really like Ford trucks... So I compromise.

  • @JTyler52 I agree with you too, all diesel trucks have the power to tow just about anything on wheels. I just think people get all mad about it because they are the ones who own the certain brand.

  • Can anyone answer my question......People say that the 6.0 breaks down compared to the 7.3L is that true?// Does the 7.3 last much longer and i hear the 6.0 is more of the race truck....Please respond and I love the vid this turbo is great!

  • @crf250x33 Each generation of IH diesel had their problems. 7.3L had problems with Cam sensors, filtration, and some problems with automatic transmissions. The 6.0L had problems with injectors, head gaskets, EGR, and wire chafing.

My truck is about to turn over 140,000 and haven't had a major problem yet.

  • @tallfarmboy my father has an 04 6.0.. it's had it's share of problems (rusting out fenders, surging was an insane problem with his truck, and balljoints.. which are common in that type of truck) but you really couldn't ask for a better vehicle. i've driven it around a parking lot once or twice, and i just love how they drive.. i love diesels. unfortuneatley, i'm only 15, but i'm really hoping on getting a powerstroke for a first vehicle.

  • @crf250x33 The 6.0 had some trouble the first few years, but by 06-07 they pretty much solved all the problems. Yes it is faster then the 7.3 Like a few people have said any engine is going to have a weak point or trouble area as they went threw the years. Alot of times modifications send these engines into the grave faster then if people would of left well enough alone. You can't multiply the power over and over again and expect something to stay together. It wasn't made for that.

  • @crf250x33 The 7.3L is far more reliable, far less problems. And the problems it has are few and far between and relatively inexpensive to repair. The 7.3L is considered bulletproof. The 6.0L is the complete opposite. Junk, unreliable, notorious for many potentially catostrophic failures.

  • man u must love your truck a lot.. next video why dont you just show everyone how to screw the tail pipe

  • @BIGDADDY21AK Would you enjoy watching that big guy?

  • The sound of a turbo screaming like that is sex to my ears!

God, I love how turbochargers scream :D and I don't mean that little hissy whine you'd hear from most 'JDM' tuners' turbochargers

  • OMFG! how did you do this!!! your my hero this is killer!

  • is this stock smoke? this is an awesome truck, you have any problems with your 6.0 at all? i am really starting to like them...

  • 1:50 to 2:00 is my favorite sound in the world

  • Did you do an EGR delete and headstuds? I'd love to have a 6.0 they sound so good. but dont want to have to spend another 5 grand on parts so i can spend more money to make it go fast lol

  • only reasons it whistles so you pick up a boyfriend whos driving a prius hhaha powerjoke

  • @scheller8 Soooo, you're single? Look to youtube to find men I see??

  • i got an 04 and it whistles just as loud and i fucking love it, nothing like seeing old ladies plugging there ears

  • aren't these the variable vein turbos?

  • I get that with my 6.5 with a muffler on it lol.

  • @torque395 6.5?

  • @torque395 6.5L as in an old school GM diesel?? Like 92-97 Chevrolet trucks?? Those were turds!

  • nice is that a v8 cos it sounds like 1?

  • @DAF460 Yep, 6.0L V-8. 4 valves per cylinder and a variable geometry turbocharger.

  • i love the whistle man, sounds good, aftermarket turbo or anything in it?

  • @hammerracing23 Factory turbo... truck has 135,000 miles on it now.

  • i wish my lb7 had the screaming turbo sound likev 6.0 in its exhaust sound

  • whats the whistle thing called?

  • rock on powerstroke FTW!!!!!!!!!

  • Ah yes, the 6.0 powerstroke. I'm assuming you've done some mods to it. What the hell, might as well, right?

Can't sell it without taking it up the ass, so enjoy it if you can. I've got a 2004 and wish I could unload the POS.. Unquestionably the worst light truck diesel of recent times.

There are repair shops that do quite well, and stay very busy DOING NOTHING BUT keeping these things propped up.

  • @PongoLikesBigmacs Well, there are more Ford trucks on the road than Chevy and Dodge combined, so I'm sure that there will be more in the shop. Sooo many of these 6.0L's on the road to call them a POS.

  • after you give it a few more rpms what was it that comes nexT?

  • how tall are you tall farm boy?

  • @drewglis I am 6'7" tall... weigh about 265

  • @tallfarmboy Jesus Pete! You are tall. Are you just runnin no muffler? I just bought a 6.0 after owning a 7.3 for many years and I'm tryin to get a good sound out of this 6.0 without screwin it up.

  • @AmericanMuscle85 No muffler, cat has left the building as well... Other than that, just an Edge Juice programmer.

  • fuck you hippies

  • Your the joke mr librarian

  • sounds nice!

  • powerJOKE!

  • does it have the powerjoke?

  • @BartschBruce Yes sir... Powerjoke

An option very similar to the Isuzu built "Duracrap" engine found in GM trucks... and "Bummins" engines found in Dodge trucks.

  • @tallfarmboy really bummies?? thats sad My "bummies" will aways be build with more power then your powerjoke V8

  • @BartschBruce Yes, the 6.0L Turbo Diesel was introduced in 2003. Some from the first half of the year still came with 7.3L PowerStrokes.

  • @BartschBruce why you hatin on the p-stroke? if you dont like it

dont watch the video? BTW tallfarmboy truck sounds good

  • @BartschBruce idk do u have a brain? use it....

  • Awesome.

  • how come when i get my 2wd f250 stuck I only turn one wheel?! I thought it was TWO wheel drive.

  • I'm confused i thought the 99-2003's all had the 7.3 PSD and the 04's had the shitty 6.0 then 05's went to the 6.4

  • @UGSAce they started putting the 6.0s in them from late '03 to '07 and in '08 they started putting the 6.4's in them. I think now in 2010 they r putting 6.7's in them but im not certain.

  • @UGSAce Cole is right... late 2003's had 6.0L, 2008 started the 6.4L, and 2011's have 6.7L Ford built V-8 diesel in them.

  • sounds great man, can do some work in that beast

  • WOW!

That sounds sexy as fuck to me!! :)

  • @ANation0nceAgain Thank you man! Now, if I can just get some ladies to think it' sexy as well, LOL!

  • i wish the 7.3's would whistle like that

  • damn im not a ford guy, but i dont think ive heard a better sounding diesel :)

  • @richie19r Thanks man! I'm a pretty big Cummins fan too, but nothing whistles like this truck.

  • i had many problems with mine but i bought it used and im guesing that they idled it alot because doing that destroyes the turbo

  • ok i am huge ford fan but im gonna be honest, the 6.0 fuckin sucks, it had so many problems it wasn't funny

  • @1chargersrule1 no... weve had quite a few 6L and they all work great, only a few people have problems with them

  • @1chargersrule1 i own a 2003 6.0 and not one issue with it they only had problems when people chip them out and dont do anything else to the motor

  • colemcneil82588, pcihector is just jealous thats why!!! and mikeb01453 is right there are alot of douchebags that drive cummins and show off all the time!!! Fords are the way to go!!!

  • damn, im kinda jealous im not gonna put my full exhaust on till my warranty goes off which is over 20,000 miles, but she still whistles alot, gotta love the 6.0

  • You should do an EGR delete and install ARP Head Studs. I've heard of trucks with these mods done to them going up to 500,000 miles.

  • Did you remove the resonator?

  • I hate when people like you, pcihector, take enough time out of your day to watch videos and then talk bad about what you are watching. If you don't like the way Power Strokes sound then why bother watching the video?

  • yea but your just an ass. love ford powerstrokes both 7.3 and 6.0, i personally have a 6.0 and love it, id rather walk than buy a dodge, ugly body styles and douchebag drivers are typically a dodge thing

  • @mikeb01453 lol enjoy ur ugly as box truck

  • @mikeb01453 lol true true

  • @mikeb01453 We love Powerstrokes too... they bring a TON of good, large-ticket business into the shop. We definitely don't get to talk to hardly any of those douchebag Dodge or Chevy guys, though, it's saddening.

Keep buying Fords, well keep trying to keep them on the road.

  • @pcihector Powerheadache.... wow, you get some originality points for that one!

  • @pcihector You're an idiot... sorry!

  • @tallfarmboy i dont give a shit who you are, or what diesel it is, its gonna black smoke. they just do that.

  • @pcihector You need to do some research, specifically on 2003 6.0 turbos. There is no microphone. You just made yourself look like a total idiot. Also, join a forum like competitiondiesel . com and spew your vomit there, see how quickly you get educated.

  • youtube arguments are stupid so I aint even getting into it with you

  • Dude... you are so right. Youtube arguments can get pretty stupid...

  • did you take the silencer ring out of your turbo?

  • the reason it sounds like that is the turbo they come with its called a vgt and thats what makes it sound like that look it up its a good design i wish other trucks would use them stock but oh well

  • @classoo7 There aren't any light duty diesels, trucks or otherwise, that come with conventional wastegate turbos anymore. Just about everything is VGT these days.

  • Negative... the 6.0L's don't have a silencer ring in the turbo... that's only a Cummins thing.

  • @tallfarmboy....hmmm didn't know that

  • @tallfarmboy nice truck man

  • @cumminsandcopenhagen No silencer ring in these... unlike a Cummins in that aspect.

  • In my opinion the only thing better about a cummins motor is the ability to make a lot of power much cheaper than what you can with a PSD.

  • That's the only thing better? That's all you can come up with? Your opinion is like an asshole, we all have one. Thing is yours is the same as what comes out of one, it's shit. Money aside, Cummins engines still continue to dominate PSD's. Until that changes, it IS the better engine for making power whether it is cheap or not.

  • up until the 6.4 your statement is very correct for the most part a cummins will stomp on a psd . with a few mods. but now that international has finally seen the light an induced common rail injection, things are finally starting to come together for us ford boys. but ill agree id love to have a CR cummins in my 06 f350!!!!

  • too bad its a 6.0, and a ford

  • pretty sweet dude.

  • at the start anyway

  • sounds like one of them ellectric turbos lol

  • It does have a VERY distinct whistle.

  • yeh sounds good tho love the powerfull diesels :) nice truck mate

  • love the whistle!

  • Thanks man!

  • sweet truck!!! but of all the terms out there used to describe that brake and gas(er..ahh..diesel) pedal technique you use power stance!?!? really? lol gnarly ass truck tho no doubt about it!!!

  • Oh yeah, POWER STANCE! That's what I've always called it... What term would you use to describe??

  • I wish I could get my duramax to whistle that much.

  • Duramax is a very strong and durable engine... but not nearly as much turbo noise as an early 6.0L Powerstroke.

  • True that good sir!

  • sounds like a APU on a plane powerin down!!! haha love it go FORD!

  • i love ford diesels. awesome truck.

  • nice

  • what do u have on it to make the whistle come out? did u crank the psi up or did u put a turbo back exhaust on it or sumthin?

  • Free-flowing exhaust from the turbo back... and an Edge Juice programmer with Attitude monitor.

  • nice like to have it

  • bit late but blue smoke mate = bad turbo seals

  • Back in the early 90s, Ford bought less than 15% of outstanding Cummins stock. In 1997, Cummins repurchased all stock previously owned by Ford, and no Ford management is now on the Cummins board of directors. Cummins B engines are exclusively contracted to Chrysler. Ford medium duty (class 6 and 7) and heavy duty (class trucks are available with Cummins B engines.

  • look it up yourself. and ford aint never getin it

  • And I was talking about there 15% share. It was a large amount for them to own. I didn't mean to confuse.

  • Ford did own a large share of the cummins engine before dodge bought most of it back.

  • u dumbfuck no they didnt

  • Then please explain.....

  • What mods do u have? any chips or programmers?

  • Free-flowing exhaust, EDGE Juice programmer... Thats pretty much it. Stock Injectors, stock intake...

  • Dump the edge tuner, get something like an SCT or something

  • the 03 powerstroke always had a mean whistle for some reason.

  • Its because the 03 models have a different turbo design from the other years. The use a 10 vane VGT while 04 had a 12 vane and 05-07 had a 15 vane.

  • wrong, 03-07 all had 9 vanes in the turbine housing, its the turbine wheel thats different. the 03 to early 04 had a 10 blade turbine wheel that has a lot more pronounced whistle. 04.5 to 07 have a 13 blade turbine wheel, theyre alot quiter and spool a little quicker.

  • whats that sticker thing behind the pipe got one on mine have no idea why lol.

  • they are on the front of some dually fenders and cab corners. Meant to keep the appearance and actuality of dents from stones down. Ive seen BIG ones on duramaxes with the duals.

  • Rock guard for when you run it over with your tire, it won't chip paint.

  • Wut all have u done to that truck? I have a 04 F-350 Dually Flatbed with a 6-speed. Is that a stock turbo?

  • Factory 2003 6.0L Turbo... removed the muffler and removed the cat, and it is 4" exhaust from the turbo back.

  • Yeah I definatly need to remove the muffler and the cat. That would make it alot cooler. Thanks man! Nice Sound 2!

  • wow nice sound extreme like mine

that is the best year ford turbo and motor

    in ford

  • ROCK ON!!!! LMAO!!!!

  • OH and ... whats the boost in PSI that you get with that set up.

  • I never really pay much attention to the boost gauge when I am running... it'll get to 32psi really easily. It is a 4" exhaust that is straight piped.

  • question. what kind of exhaust is that. it cant be factory... Cool sound, wich i could get that out of the 7.3L

  • thats one sweet sounding powerstroke man ROCK ON ! uhh what is a turbo anyways? JP. I own a 07 powerstroke and a few revs cant jump the damn egts up to critical levels.

  • For the idiots complaining about the turbo still spinning after he turned it off.. As long as their is air coming out of the exhaust manifold that turbo is spinning. It does not stop at idle. Idiots.

  • You shouldn't be calling people idiots when your own comment is idiotic.

Turbochargers spin at thousands of rpm's at idle. When the engine is shut off, airflow through the manifold stops almost instantly. It's not air making the turbo spin when the truck is shut off. It's just like turning off a fan, until all the energy is dissipated it will continue to spin slower and slower.

  • how long is normal to spin.....have a 04 F250 ...... it spins and makes clidking noise for about 20 seconds......

  • with fords the turbo always spools down after you shut her down, cummins can suck my D, built ford tough. all my friends who have dodges think they suck after 3 years, nothing but problems

  • i SERIOUSLY doubt that considering alot of people i know who went from fords to dodges say they will never go back. ill give the truck itself is probably better on a few levels, but the cummins is a deal breaker. people want a cummins. and the turbo spools down on ANY vehicle with a turbo after its shut down. ill take my dodges any day and theres nothing you can do or say to convince me otherwise
