One of my best friends took lessons from Tony years ago. After three lessons, Tony had given him so much 'homework' he took a break from the lessons just so he could catch up on learning all the exercises from Tony. Took him almost a year before he was ready to take lessons from Tony again...lol. Scozzara is a jazz / fusion legend in Western New York.
This video of Tony playing tribute to his brother n' law is just as I suspected it would be with the talents of Tony behind the guitar. My husband and I had the pleasure of hearing him play at the Grape in Jacksonville Fl on Friday Oct 18 along with a base player and a drum player. A fantastic 3 man band that was absolutely unbelievable. Tony plays the guitar as if his heart and soul is literally a part of the instrument. Video was great his overall talent is phenomenal, go see for yourself.
Well-spoken regarding Tony Scozzaro. Anyone who has heard his 1992 debut, "No Brakes" and his far-too-short stint with Gamalon (especially the song "Gemini") knows that Tony is one of the rare ones who turns emotion into music, and music into emotion.
This is the better video and sound, but thanks to the other dudes that posted their's. I had stayed up late having missed the memorial earlier in the day, but I wanted to see it. I watched the tributes (Mike Barnacle was a kick) and was fading fast toward sleep. Then Luke introduced Tony. After the chimes he began. I recognized the tune and layed there in wonder at the perfection and purpose of Tony's melodic statement. He even threw in a little Pinball Wizard. I'm sure Tim approved.
