    if that is the train that leaves from rio bamba, i rode on it like 4 years ago after graduating. i dont know how you survived if it was raining up there for the first part of the trip, cause it wasnt raining when i did it and we still froze our asses off. did you see the 3 foot tall ecuadorian guy with the huge mustache selling beer and plantains?? i have a photo of me and him somewhere, everyone says he is my long last dad haha. and trying to find a bathroom in the small towns..

  • Just rode on this a couple of weeks ago, and indeed, they no longer allow anyone on top. Pretty much defeats the purpose of riding it in my opinion.

  • well, with a delay at the beginning and the derailments, I think it was longer than 8 hours, though it's not supposed to take that long. You can also just do the last part, down the devil's nose.
