Ok - the temperature ranges shown on the video are wrong. Editing error - will try and post the right temps here shortly.
Secondly - it's easy to do contrast on extremities (& great for sore guitar hands!) - more difficult on shoulders. You can apply the same principle by alternating hot & cool water from a shower head. It's not quite as effective as ice - but it'll work a little bit.
@02atacker maybe those gel heat packs or a hot water bottle & an ice pack. But I'd recommend going to see a chiropractor & getting a thereputic massage. Worked for me when I had some RSI & stay away from those Chinese market stall massage joints they do little good.
If our body is 98 degrees F then how is 90 degrees F Hot? 118 degrees F is when water starts to feel hot on the skin.
Also I did read a study on Football players. The extremely cold ice baths did more harm than good, so I am glad to now know that 55 is the limit for cold, and I am very interested to know what is optimal for hot.
@TheScarrend We don't like to exert ourselves here. I mean making ice? Think of all the work involved. First pour the water into the ice tray...then....WALK to the freezer and put it in. Man we get exhausted just thinking about it. Much better jump into the car, drive 15 km to the store and buy the ice-bag ready made & drive back home ;)

Similar to @02atacker's question about shoulder, how would you do this technique for thighs. My thighs have been very sore due to interval training.
