THIS is AWESOME! i know that bad singing when i hear it! ITS THE COWARDLY LION!!!!! Bert Lahr!!! was his voice purposely shaky like that or did he have to sing that way in this AND Wizard of Oz???
@daangmacy it was the style then for small children (girls) to have the short dresses with the bloomer type shorts..unlike today hers looks cute and professional..not trashy and degrading..
The film is "Just Around The Corner". It was originally black & white, and this has been colorized.
This streamlined, shiny-floored set is supposed to be the basement of a New York apartment building. This particular area is a purported dog run. The 3 adults work in the building, and Shirley is disrupting their schedule, which is why they run off when the manager (Franklin Pangborn) catches them at the very end.
Bill Robinson's entry down the stairway is really great! I've always liked it.
1938? dang they had an African American guy in this movie, good for them. Even if they had him play a doorman, still glad they had him in and he had a pretty big part to.

At 00:50 or so are they supposed to be alternating or together? I have always wondered. They look like it got off yet it looks like it works too.
