Hi, great stuff on your viideo. Many kids and adults with CP use our gripping aids to hold gym equipment, tricycles/walking frame, etc when hand function is difficult. Google search "Active Hands gripping aids". They hold fingers in really well to stop them popping out with movement. They are also padded, have finger loops which stay in position (instead of flopping around) when pushing loops through the D rings and are machine washable. Can be bought online and posted worldwide.
nothing wrong having those splints, people maybe need them more that Yussef, CME may not help with that, maybe he needs hip control you never know, you cannot judge that little boy and what he needs. Watch vidoes of people who have spinal injures, they have splints on there legs.
Look at this again !! His trunk is totally supported, his legs are all covered with orthopedics, he is using his hands to be supported even more !! how is his brain is going to learn how to walk independtly this way? His brain is saying "I don't need to do any work, all those straps and support is doing the work for me, so i am just going to continue sleeping" !! CME therapy on the other hands pushes the brain to the maximum stimulation by giving the minimum support
In CME physiotherapy, orthopedics are not used at all and the child learns to walk totally independent without any aid and that should be the goal for any therapist. of course if the child is receiving only traditonal therapy or no therapy at all and is not working towards total freedom, then you are right, orthopedics would help get some kind of robotic mobility ! but if there is an option already available to total freedom without any orthopedics, then why would i go for anything less !!
