Ok! here's how you do it... you keep the rifle at your shoulder use your left hand to push the rifle in your shoulder to prop it up while you use your right hand to pull the lever. that way you keep your target in your sights at all times. a professional can actually use the recoil of the rifle to reload rapidly as the gun pushes into his shoulder he draws his hand forward reloading the rifle in a split second. keep on shooting!

That is a Winchester model 94, not a Marlin. For the totally ignorant, notice the rounds are being ejected out of the top of the receiver. The Marlin ejects out the side, click on one of the Marlin videos in the side bar if you have any doubt.
All depends on the shooter sometimes on how much "kick" you'll get off a gun.
Also as a side note to the maker of the vid how did you find it handled. It looked like you were having some issues chambering the rounds.
I own a Marlin 30-30 that looks exactly like what you were shooting and the main thing I find about it is don't baby it and she's all right. Also keep up the cleaning and oiling of it and it'll never fail..

Ya i would not be to concerned about the ricochet. If you had anyone standing even remotly close to where there might be a risk of a ricochet hitting him you should be smackied upside the head. Not because of the ricochet but more likely somthing causing your initial shot to hit them. like being startled or slipping. but a ricochet? or I supose if your close enough but that goes under the heading of idiot. and even then it goes at an angle it does not completly reverse direction.

Don't listen to any of these assholes. I just got back from the range, shooting my 30-30 marlin (170gr rounds) for the first time and it has a fair kick. It moved me a little and I'm 6'5", 290lbs :D

I remember my first .22, the sights where all banged up and it always shot low. We kept tacks below the target (in the grass) to tack the paper to the wood, and it turns out I shot the container about 3 times.

That rifle is a Winchester 94. I own both a Marlin 336 and a Winchester 94. The Marlin does not have the trapdoor lever hinge on the bottom of the reciever that this 94 does. Also, notice how the top of the reciever is open, no Marlin rifle is made like that.

Insults aside, a quick, smooth cycling of the action is how these guns are designed to be used. Sometimes, with certain brands of ammunition, cycling the action like that can cause a jam.
I've got a Winchester 94 and I love shooting it. It's a great brush gun. Why would anyone put a scope on a gun that shoots so accurately with open sights?

The Liberals said the gun registry cost 2.4 Billion. The total cost that wasn't announced through regular channels was 4.8 Billion.
Max is 5 round magazine under .300 win mag but I think some caliber exceptions are allowed like the 45-70/ 44-40/ Ect anything under .50 Cal.
You can have a .50 Cal as long as the gun is breach loaded and cannot except a magazine.

looks like either an earlier marlin 336 or a winchester m94. u need to learn how to shoot, theres no reason a .30 wcf should be knocking u back like that, and the reason u shouldnt be shooting at a fence is because the bullet can ricoshe back and seriously hurt or even kill someone

I remember my first .22, the sights where all banged up and it always shot low. We kept tacks below the target (in the grass) to tack the paper to the wood, and it turns out I shot the container about 3 times.

And yes loosing the semi-auto and pump action shotguns semi-auto rifles and pistols over .38 calibre is a sad fact for us. If you ever travel to USA youll know what I mean.

That rifle is a Winchester 94. I own both a Marlin 336 and a Winchester 94. The Marlin does not have the trapdoor lever hinge on the bottom of the reciever that this 94 does. Also, notice how the top of the reciever is open, no Marlin rifle is made like that.

it is a marlin moron, the mod 336 is modeled on the winnie just with side eject not top eject. And yes we still own guns in australia, just not semi or auto guns. see us aussies only need one shot from a bolt action not 30 rounds on full auto to hit something.

Insults aside, a quick, smooth cycling of the action is how these guns are designed to be used. Sometimes, with certain brands of ammunition, cycling the action like that can cause a jam.

I've got a Winchester 94 and I love shooting it. It's a great brush gun. Why would anyone put a scope on a gun that shoots so accurately with open sights?
