  • O.O

  • he...heheh..he..hehehehehe..heh..............heh

  • Anybody else notice the tags?

  • I get chills every time I hear this....

  • Imagine hearing this in person...

  • that was a concert Eb guys...

  • that got me slightly aroused...

  • If you're hearing a trumpet A/concert G, it's probably an overtone.

  • I have perfect pitch, and I definently could make out an A in the last chord :D

  • @benitospeaksenglish there are no a's in that chord. it's a concert Eb major chord. The only notes in it are Eb, G, and Bb.

  • I thought that was an F.

  • The last note that the lead sop is wailin is only an f. Still fricken ridiculous tho. But not quite a dub A.

  • @little05dawg maybe jf plays a diff instrument with a non-Bb transposition. in that case, you're wrong, too. it's a concert Eb. a trumpet's F, yes. it's 1:19am here, and this is the last thing I wanted to hear before I went to sleep, so my mind isn't quite up to figuring out if an instrument exists that would transpose around where an Eb would become an A(b)....soooo I totally jizzed my pants....this is probably my 40,000th time listening? needless to say, my 40,000th time jizzin my pants too

  • @MrAwesomenesh Yea you're right. I didn't think about that. I guess its just because i play trumpet as well so i didn't think about concert pitch or having to transpose. But yes..never been too big of a scv fan but this was so sick. Loved hearing it every time.

  • i have a boner..

  • Who is conducting?

  • @ashleysuzannah T. Andre Feagin, he's the band director at UTEP.

  • @SwarleyBenson Awesome! I thought it might have been my friend James Williford. He conducts just like that.

  • @SwarleyBenson he directed a group I was in, the US Army All-American Marching Band. He's fantastic!

  • Very, very sweet SCV.

  • @Burgerbob22 With the acoustics of that large echo-y room I can hear why you'd think that. It's a show segment warm up and there is a written double A in the show, so I think its just the acoustics and the mic recorded with.

  • Hell yea professor Feagan!!!! That man is the best director I could have asked for in the US Army All American Marching Band!! Great great man who I have the high and utmost amount of respect for!

  • this is amazing!!!!!! AND i get to play this in marching band next season(:

  • Nothing more grand than a wall of sound hitting you in the face. Can't wait till August 2012!

  • That drum major is awesome.

  • @Burritopizzasauce7 Professor T. Andrea Feagan. that man is a beast!!

  • When I say this, I am not joking, I pissed my pants.

  • You know your brass caption head is having a good time when he leaves the ground conducting... haha

  • :')

  • YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!

  • @buzzerbeater9000 This was exactly what I was going to say.

  • IMHO this show was just as good as '89 SCV, but thats just me

  • I bet that was bad ass in person.

  • I love how there are always comments from people saying that their high school isn't as good as a drum corps. Of course it isn't. Fill your group up with mostly college musicians, get the best instructors in the world, and practice for 12 hours a day for three months straight (plus numerous weekends over the year as well) and then you might be almost as good as these guys. You're comparing apples to oranges.

  • the hairs on my arm just spiked

  • I wish i could play a double F like that at the end...

  • Nothing like hearing a corps at its peak . . . thanks so much for posting.

  • I can't wait for Andre Feagin to bring this sound to the Academy!

  • @tubamarc8891 theyre going to be great this year.

  • I love the guy who says YEAAAAHHHHH at the end. Every time I hear this, I get chills.

  • ok yup i have to go change my skippies...i peed a bit!

  • its a concert Eflat or F in trumpet. i determined that on the last page where my comments says its a double F.

  • That woman's scream at the end ruined my entire experience of this video...

  • They need some brass help. Blend, balance, and intonation is average for a top shelf drum corps.

  • i could be wrong, but it may be a high concert E - flat (F on trumpet).

  • @racerx276 Yup... I was wrong. Man, I can play the shit out of that. Should do this next year.

  • @Triplefunk85 do it up man.

  • i think i need a napkin...

  • try listening to this with beats.... experience like non other

  • High Bb ftw!

  • @carloszamora0710 wrong... High concert F, or as a trumpet player would say... Dub G.

  • @Triplefunk85 trust me i know i play trumpet i was just trying to see if anyone would realize....even though you probably believe me......its true though......i hit that double G every now and thenn...not very pretty

  • I keep finding myself coming back to this video, this video is my drug.

  • We did this my freshman year of High School and I have to say that this kicks our band's rendition's a** into the next galaxy.

  • Auditioning Today for them!!! super excited!!

  • On application for scv's brass: Do you need to breath in between notes? yes or no

  • you hear the one trumpet guy jump the octave at the end. I'd let him sleep with my girlfriend any day.

  • @cambowden93 thats my best friends big brother lmfao

  • @cambowden93 As another trumpet player, I think it's great that you'd do that for this guy; however, I wouldn't be as cavalier with my lady because it took him a few tries.

Awesome piece and excellent playing by all! Especially the ballsy trumpet player! :P

  • @cambowden93 He didn't jump an octave. The high F was written. But yes it sounds amazing lol

  • Everytime I listen to this it gives me the chills =D

  • VERY NICE

  • so beautiful it almost brings me to the point of tears

  • WHo DA FUDGE IS STUPID ENOUGH TO CLICK DISLIKE!!!!!!

  • @Hickorydrummer09 they missed the like button

  • I would direct like that if I were the director of that corps too

  • One of my drill instructors played marching baritone this year. :3

  • to quote an SCV ageout from 2009, "There will never be another night like this."

  • i AM ABOUT TO TEAR UP JUST BY HEARING THE RING OFF OF THE FIRST NOTE! that's legit playing right there. everything all of the above (legit)

  • OH MY GOD THAT REVERB! The chords are beyond words.

  • This moves me so much. This is why I am going to march corps, for moments like this.

  • someone crack that high F but when he got bak on it it sounded beautiful!!!

  • If you listen closely around 1:05 you can hear a lead soprano screaming a double A til the cut off. So intense, gorgeous, controlled, and ballsy. Fuckin' a.

  • @JFMarchingArts More like Fuckin' double a

  • @JFMarchingArts I think that may be an overtone. cuz dang, it sounds way too clean for a double A.

  • @JFMarchingArts that's a concert eb not an a

  • yeah its a high F above the staff. so not insanely high. but its up there i guess

  • at 1:08, is that an insanely high trumpet i hear?

  • holy shitaki mushrooms, I love this.

  • this makes me want to quit music omg

  • Its amazing how a chorale as simple as this can mean so much.

  • this is my therapeutic motivational music

  • I love it when people post videos of hornline warmups; especially this one because in the show the tubas are all drowned out by the stupid synthesizer.

  • just listening to this makes me so happy

  • HHHOOOLLLYYY FFFUUUUCCCCKKKKK :'D

  • Jesus, I got chills!

  • My high school is playing this show this year and we aren't nearly this good.

  • my computer glitched up twice near the end of this. it just couldn't handle the perfection of that glorious sound.

  • my high school marching band did this for our show last year... and this is sooooo amaising

  • Our HS marching band does this as a warm up for our brass line....no where near as amazing as this though

  • Was this T Andre Feagin?

  • Yes it was

  • @BosPercussion Yup. He's brass caption at Academy now. Excited to have him!

  • beautiful...

  • Wow!

  • Goosebumps.

  • im a cavies fan, and this is amazing

  • A Cavies fan disliked this >:(

  • WHO DISLIKED THIS?!?!?!?!?!?!? O.O

  • I love how they don't have to bend their legs to get a full sound unlike Blue Devils

  • @Cdog971 U mad?

  • @Cdog971 well you have to remember the BD players can probably do this no question.. they dont bend their Knees because they have to, its to show emotion and feeling for what they are playing. and im not a BD fan im just stating what i believe to be true

  • @masterdrummer19 Truth is any top 20 drum corp can do this, they are all really good in the top 20.

  • @IcYLiSn4zzle yeah i know... like i wouldnt fully agree sorta.. just like providing so much power... like top 20 corps are really good but not all can provide this much power ya know.

  • @Cdog971 the only one who does is their conductor haha

  • @Cdog971 Exactly, lowering your center of gravity doesn't make you louder. I think it would actually diminish your performance causing your sound to change pitch will you move.

  • This made me cry!! :')

  • Haha...One guy's an idiot. Or had his computer upside-down to where the thumbs down looked like a thumbs up.. ;)

  • 1:12 YEAHHHH!!!!!

  • i wish this was at every refreshment bar.

  • It´s so amazing!

  • Takes my breath away even on youtube. If you've ever heard SCV live and in person you would know what I mean. Great musicianship, Great leadership in Dr. Feagin, Outstanding hornline. I've been watching this corps since the seventies, they get better and better all time. Keep it up!

  • chills everytime.

  • I cannot even begin to imagine being in that room in person.

  • This looks almost exactly the same as the indoor area in atlanta. Regardless, warming up in a place like this where it echos for a lifetime is not something you forget :)

  • 1:05 = perfectly in tune lead trumpet.

  • One person is definitely deaf.

  • I want this verson of simple gifts....played at my funeral. Amazing

  • god tyler i freking love you!!!! your such an amzing big brother i cant believe how much you have accomplished......everytime i hear this song it reminds me of you....keep going the way you are and dont change with the trumpet

  • Needs more Tuba.

  • YEAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1 person got blasted backward from the sound.

  • @TransPragmatic

I'm thinkin it was a flute player...

  • Thats T. Andre Feagin, his current employment is associate director of bands and director of athletic bands at University of Texas, El Paso.

  • Ha at the tuba at 1:16

    Been there before... yup

  • @mec47 Emptying his spit?

  • @utsuxrooster yup, usually in SCV, they leave the spit in there until the section leader gives them a signal to empty all of the spit at the same time.

  • @mec47 oops hahaha

  • Best video of this yet no doubt! Sound quality is great and you let the chord ring! AWESOME!!!!!

  • Intense director is intense

  • @epsig700 That's Feagin for ya' haha

  • Geez. Makes my eyes tear up every time. AMAZING.

  • Ahh, hahh. That would make sense since I was up in the stands at Quarters. Typo, sorry. Goin' to be there again for 2010!! More vids to come..

  • (the reason the hornline is inside is because of rain on SEMIfinals night (trust me i was there to))

  • Shivers every time.

  • And I wish I had that brass guy conducting my band/I wanna meet them

  • THAT WAS AMAZING!
