  • I think I was 10 when I started :)

cool u ready 4 the exam?

  • I was around that age too when I started:)

emmmm no definetly not I can only half play two of the pieces so far:( still 3 months left at least

have you done the diploma exam?

  • no I was meant 2 do it but it was just when I was joining up in the academy in Dublin so I was told not 2 do it because of the change of teacher.

  • makes sense, I'm thinking of learning etude op.25 no.12, apparently it's not too hard compared to the rest can you play that one?

  • no I've never tried to play that one, but I wouldn't say it's that easy !

    Give it a go though!

  • I can play about 5 bars of it now, I think it's a bit easier than op10 no.1!

  • cool- yeah I'd say it's easier than no. 1 :)

  • cool you're really good:)

would you say this is one of the easiest etudes?

cause I want to learn an easyish one

  • thanks & no this is definitely not one of the easiest ones :P Nearly every one of the chopin etudes are ridiculously hard.. but off the top of my head I think op. 10 no. 3 is probably one of the easiest

u're from dublin??! do u go to the academy?

  • Ok oh well it looks a bit easier than the winter wind one that looks really hard!

ok thanks I'll have to listen to that one

I do piano exams in the academy, I see you go there coo:) I'm gonna be auditioning to do lessons at DIT college of music though

  • Cool u're gonna go to DIT next year?

  • Ye if I get in, but just for piano lessons, I'll still be in school next year I'm in 5th year now I go to St.Raphaela's in Stillorgan where do u go?

  • Oh cool :)

I'm in Newtown in waterford now in 6th year (leaving cert.... ) I go up 2 dublin every wednesday 4 lessons in the academy

when u trying out for DIT?

  • Wow that's a long way to travel every week, they must be really good lessons!

Oh hate that are you planning to do music in college?

    I'm auditioning in April:)

  • yeah the lessons are pretty good - I have Hugh Tinney as a teacher :) it's worth it I think.

I'm gonna do my bachelors in music performance in the Guldhall school of music in London- I got a scholarship 2 go there which is really lucky ! :)

cool what u playing for your audition?

  • cool:)

I'm not surprised you got a scholarship!

I think I'm gonna play chopin nocturne in c sharp minor op.20 and Haydn sonata in D major hob xvi/14 third movement

  • cool have u uploaded a vid of you playing the haydn?

  • no, not yet but I think I might and you can tell me what you think of it:) have you heard it or played it before?

I played it for my grade 6 exam a few months ago

  • yeah I've probably heard it sometime.. I can't remember it though.

how'd u do in ur exam?

  • Ye I don't think it's very well known

I did ok I got 78, I did grade 5 and 6 in the same year so I didn't really do very well cause there wasn't much time to practice

    I'm guessing you've done all 8 exams?:)

  • No actually I didn't do most of the grades.. I did grade 8 tho! :D

so you're on grade 7 now?

  • Oh haha when did you start playing?

ye I'm doing the exam in may I think:)

  • Oh wow, huge improvement over your other posting of this. I like it

  • Ugh im jealous. 16 and i havent even started to attempt this...

  • @ChildOfFury Haha don't worry you'll get it- it's not as hard as it looks :) This video's actually pretty outdated by now. I'm turning 18 the day after tomorrow ! :)

  • oh sweet! happy early bday. I've already learned No.3 and No.12 and hope to get started on this one shortly after i finish Arabesque by Debussy. I'll take your word for it on the "not as hard as it looks" thing .

  • I'm jealous xD

    Congratulations

  • Thanks!

  • well reply 2 the message i sent u :D

  • Im going to punch you in the butt next time I see you!

  • AWSOME!!! I like it alot, 5/5 stars! :)

  • WELL DONE OU DID VERY WELL*****

  • Bravo!!!! Fantastic performance! You are really talented and Im really impressed especially when consider your young age :)

  • Thank's very much! :)

  • It's not bad, but it could be a little bit faster. There is no fire here. To me it seems like little bit like you have to concentrate to right notes. I think it's eat your performing. So practise it more with speed that you control 100%. But otherwise this is very good. Is your right hand fully relaxed? Because it's important too.

  • Wonderfully played! I wish I can learn to play it soon!

  • Where are my comments?

  • I can't understand why the people see in this beautiful work only a big amount of difficult arpeggios and NOTHING more.

Congratulations for you can play it, is avery difficult work, but is inevitable tell this: MECHANICAL!

  • You try and play it.

  • -.-

With your answer is enough to understand your playing. Pax!

  • I don't know what you're talking about. In all the competitions I've used this piece in, the adjudicator has each time commented on the musicality of my playing.

  • Don't pay any attention, I say BRAVO! to you.

  • Thanks!

  • nice cheat at 0:10! XD

  • How is that a cheat?

  • Darn good performance mate! I suppose that the cheat is that you play the D-sharp at 0'10" with the left hand, whereas normally one would put that on the 5th finger on the right hand. It's not that difficult, and you do similar at 0'31" and 0'54" anyway.

It's good that there's no rit. at the end. It's also good that you put stress on the top of each arpeggio; it brings the tune out more.

  • he fantastic and very serious. nice to see and hear. keep it up

  • wee done . now no.2??

  • very funny chad....he would destroy no.2 and not look back!.....this guy has a very great technique.

  • wow this really good

  • Thanks
