thanks & no this is definitely not one of the easiest ones :P Nearly every one of the chopin etudes are ridiculously hard.. but off the top of my head I think op. 10 no. 3 is probably one of the easiest
@ChildOfFury Haha don't worry you'll get it- it's not as hard as it looks :) This video's actually pretty outdated by now. I'm turning 18 the day after tomorrow ! :)
oh sweet! happy early bday. I've already learned No.3 and No.12 and hope to get started on this one shortly after i finish Arabesque by Debussy. I'll take your word for it on the "not as hard as it looks" thing .
It's not bad, but it could be a little bit faster. There is no fire here. To me it seems like little bit like you have to concentrate to right notes. I think it's eat your performing. So practise it more with speed that you control 100%. But otherwise this is very good. Is your right hand fully relaxed? Because it's important too.
I don't know what you're talking about. In all the competitions I've used this piece in, the adjudicator has each time commented on the musicality of my playing.
Darn good performance mate! I suppose that the cheat is that you play the D-sharp at 0'10" with the left hand, whereas normally one would put that on the 5th finger on the right hand. It's not that difficult, and you do similar at 0'31" and 0'54" anyway.
It's good that there's no rit. at the end. It's also good that you put stress on the top of each arpeggio; it brings the tune out more.
I think I was 10 when I started :)
cool u ready 4 the exam?
Musicman180 2 years ago
I was around that age too when I started:)
emmmm no definetly not I can only half play two of the pieces so far:( still 3 months left at least
have you done the diploma exam?
SarahandEmma13 2 years ago
no I was meant 2 do it but it was just when I was joining up in the academy in Dublin so I was told not 2 do it because of the change of teacher.
Musicman180 2 years ago
makes sense, I'm thinking of learning etude op.25 no.12, apparently it's not too hard compared to the rest can you play that one?
SarahandEmma13 2 years ago
no I've never tried to play that one, but I wouldn't say it's that easy !
Give it a go though!
Musicman180 2 years ago
I can play about 5 bars of it now, I think it's a bit easier than op10 no.1!
SarahandEmma13 2 years ago
cool- yeah I'd say it's easier than no. 1 :)
Musicman180 2 years ago
cool you're really good:)
would you say this is one of the easiest etudes?
cause I want to learn an easyish one
SarahandEmma13 2 years ago

I can't understand why the people see in this beautiful work only a big amount of difficult arpeggios and NOTHING more.
Congratulations for you can play it, is avery difficult work, but is inevitable tell this: MECHANICAL!
