  • suck my.....

  • Lame

  • okay total video gamer nerd moment. so robot came form the Czech "robotnik" for a slave.

so does that have a correlation with Dr. Ivo Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog? although he's not a slave to anyone.

  • Military loves robots; they now have the Grim Reaper robot: (1) patrol and find enemy, (2) kill enemy, (3) protect self, return for refuel and rearm. The robotic laws are so important. Anyway, there is more to go; the humanoid robot is still being developed; and some people in Japan want female robots.

  • i'm not afraid of robots

  • Russian girl:)

  • To answer the closing question: I'm not so afraid of robots like my iRobot. Nanotechnology, on the other hand, I don't want to end up as Grey Goo.

Hey! as a geek you could maybe discuss Grey Goo!

  • i wanna fuck that robot

  • By the way - "robota" is as I were saying a word that means "toil" or "treadmill" - (as a hard work for free) but it only has this one special meaning - it only describes the hard work for feudals from the middle ages until 18th century (well and I think it russia and perhaps some other countries it was in place till the end of the 19th century)

  • Robotnik could be polish or ukrainian (more probably), I dunno. However a word for the people forced to that work is "nevolník" (singular). "Vůle" means "will" (as in someone's will) in czech and "ne" is a negative prefix (or left alone it means simply "no"). Therefore it is someone who works against his will. Well, so that's a little mistake of yours but otherwise your channel is definitely one of the more interesting here on youtube and very different from the others. Keep it up!

  • Hi, I'm czech and actually "robotnik" is not a czech word at all. Slave in czech is "otrok". The word robot actually comes from a word "robota" - which can be translated as hard work or toil. The people in Europe had to work for free for their feudal lords and that work was called "robota".

  • where can I get one?

  • if the robot looked like u i would buy it in a heart beat <3

  • I have $1999. Marina-bot, you are all mine.

  • not the big words robot. the hot for words robot. or if hot for words real girl is available as well hit me up on here i'll send you my number :)

  • i have a boner

  • no only of them in T2 opening. They freak me out.

  • T2 is scary!!! even scarier than ahhhhnold He's liquid metal man!!!

  • At the end of Capek's play the androids (not strictly robots) start to develop emotions, like love etc., thus giving hope for the future.

  • I want one!

  • How come If where smart enough to make a robot, we still don't sound like a human?

  • Nope, not afraid of robots, emp takes care of them pretty quickly. 12 gauge works fairly well too depending on the bot type.

  • ? and ur getting an emp form?????????

  • thats my secret shh ;)

  • Damn im jealous haha

  • charge a series of capacitors(really big ones...mind you shock is possible and possibly lethal) use some explosive to detonate. You reduce resistance and increase energy density. it can be done for 40 to 400 depending if you want a BIG pulse

  • Thanks for the website to find cheep textbooks! :D

  • The word robot comes from robota, which means "job" or "work". This word have its origin in german language (austrian dialect from 17-th century) - this word meant forced labour. Anyway, the word robot as we know it, was first used by czech writer Karel Capek. Only thing what is connecting Russian language with this word is, that czech and russian laguages are both slav.

  • Apart from falso info re the word robot, the video is funny. The Czech language does not have the word robotnik, I think it must be Russian, same as the author of this video. We have the word ROBOTA, where the origin of robot comes from. It means forced labour.

  • Alas, the word ROBOT doesn't come from robotnik as claimed in this video, but from the word ROBOTA, meanin the forced labour. Next time do your research better!!!!

  • nope

  • Thank that you exist, because studing english with you very funny for me.

Марин молодец! Приятно для ушей услышать русское слово "работник" =)

  • They would run out of batteries, wouldn't they?

  • See the little known movie - The Matrix.. for your answer.

  • u can polish my hardware anyday.

  • no i'm not

  • Polish me NOW!! lol

  • Nooohe, even if robots were smart enough, to kill human, we will still could turn them off.

  • hahaha, no im not afraid of robots for this simple reason. they are incapable of artificial intelligence thus far. all those things nature has created take 100s of times the space to create artificially. if there should ever be an artificial intelligence that is created it would be a supercomputer and we are decades from that still.

  • Marina is actually a sophisticated KGB android, created for a single purpose.. To conquer American men's minds and their wallets, one word at a time..

  • Yes,I would shell out the bucks for her robot.I'd rather have the original though!!!

  • yeah, i wud easily shovel out $1999 to own a robot like that

  • she is from poland ?

  • russia

  • You have a busy channel you must have a staff just to keep up with all the mail. 5 stars

  • I don't mean to be picky (well, I do) but Isaac Asimov is spelt with an 's', and, a useless bit of trivia, he actually coined the term robotics. (and 'humanics' but that never caught on).

    Yes, I'm a geek.

  • lol XD lul means penis in holland!

  • Dr. Robotnik was Sonic's bitch....makes sense >_>

  • The word robota means literally work, labor or serf labor, and figuratively "drudgery" or "hard work" in Czech and many Slavic languages. Traditionally the robota was the work period a serf had to give for his lord, typically 6 months of the year.

In polish Robotnik (or Pracownik) means worker same as in czech i think. In polish word Robota (or Praca) means work.

  • Anyway, robotník doesn't mean slave.

  • jj, jen jí to dej :)

  • My god, robotník doesn't mean slave. The czech word for slave is otrok. Robotník came from robota, which means socage. Maybe she's beautiful but she's not omniscient. ;)

  • ya majoring in philology must have just dumbed her down, she made one mistake, sue her

  • Actually, "robot" thought up Karel Čapek's brother Josef Čapek. And "robotník" doesn't mean slave, in czech slave is "otrok". Robotník came from the word robota, which means socage.

If made mistakes, sorry of my english. :)

  • hmm slave in czech is "otrok", "robotnik" means kind of feudal worker. Marina -> :P :P :P

  • Three Laws of Robotics:

    1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

    2. A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
