  • INCREDIBLE

  • The March Of The Varangian Guard is so fucking amazing, the way their voices meld together is so fucking jizzworthy. It's funny how they're all higher than Mathias'.

Why are Finnish bands so fucking amazing? I mean, look at Sonata Arctica as well!

  • @c4gob00m And Korpiklaani, Amorphis, Children of Bodom, Ensiferum, Finntroll, and Nightwish, just to name a few...

  • wgat's the language at the 9:18 please?

these versions bring new life to their lyrics, and show the band in a whole new light

i think i just found my new favorite video on youtube <3

  • @MoonriseFire1 yeah... even so... i love they are using a "Cajon Peruano"... ^_^

  • @onibaku3

  • Olli Vänskä is such a good violist^^ as it is easy to copy

  • Fucking epic version i love it <3

  • 15

  • This video should be watched by sooooo much more people...

only I watched this vid like 14 times this week:P

  • why isnt there an option "I fuckin love it!!"

  • I think I'm in love... And the songs are beautiful too.

But seriously- too awesome to describe. Amazing band with so much energy on stage! EPIC LIKE HELL!

  • The singer has such a deep voice....

  • he speaks english with so called "russian" accent

    (im not russian)

  • Ładna Dupa tam jest :D

  • @Eeekxx it is a shame she left the band

  • @willemvandeursen1995 Netta left?! Oh, man. Was it because of the change in the direction of their style? I mean, I liked Stand Up and Fight a lot but it kinda pales in comparison to the first two epics...

  • @Psychonaut1992 According to their site Netta left because she is going to start her studies in college. She is replaced by a keyboarder named Robert Engstrand. He is good at playing keyboards, but a keyboard is not very folkmetalish, is it? Their bass player also left the band. He also left the band because of his study, and because he wanted to do something else with his live. He is replaced by Jukka-Pekka Miettinen.

  • @willemvandeursen1995 Oh well. Keyboards/pianos are versatile instruments, like keyboards can be used in rock and pop, not to mention all the electronica, so I'm sure it's possible. At least most of them are still together for more great music.

  • @Psychonaut1992 I didn't say that it isn't possible, I meant that a keyboard doesn't look like folk metal(altough I could think some ways to make it look like folk metal). When you see an accordeon you think its something folk-like. When you see a keyboard it can be any kind of music. I mean that due it's versatility a keyboard lacks personality, or at least that's my oppinion.

  • @willemvandeursen1995 You have a point there.

  • @klootviool14nl Such a shame that they didn't play hunting pirates.. Alestorm did play back through time, that would've been a great contrast x'D

  • Netta parece Tarja Turunen.

  • 2 people have no souls.

  • This video proves how talented Turisas are.

  • reminds me of Brad Roberts (Crash Test Dummies, Canada)

  • Turisas !!!! they "rocks" !!!! :-) ( Koko mukava tulkinta musiikkikappaleet "unplugged" )

  • back when Jussi was not bald

  • this really shows off Mathias' voice.

  • 1 person was sold as a slave to the Saracens

  • Its so strange to see them whitout warpainting and blod...but they remain epic...

  • Vikings > Pirates

  • @BeyceOnTheB heidenfest 2011.... vikings AND pirates :P turisas + alestorm

  • @BeyceOnTheB they are Varegs; Vareg = Vikings ; Vikings = Danish/Norwegian/Varegs ==> Pirates = English and/or Dutch

    ergo: Vikings ≠ Pirates

  • @Dymitri07 I agree, eventhough I'm half Dutch-,-

  • @BeyceOnTheB Regular Finnish guy > Vikings + Pirates

  • @BeyceOnTheB Turisas > Vikings

  • @BeyceOnTheB Finns>Vikings.

  • @GreedAndSelfishness *Facepalm* just.....Oh my lord

  • @EmilyKnottTittyFuck What?Finns killed many vikings.Vikings even wrote that savage men in the eastern lands are dangerous. If a man goes there hes return will not be guaranteed.

  • @BeyceOnTheB Vikings=MARINES

  • @BeyceOnTheB Vikings = Pirates

  • @qwerty63416341 no.. vikings are not the same as pirates >_< dumbnuts

  • Damn, this is epic! Makes me respect them as musicians even more.

  • Wow...thats amazing....Turisas are so talented and the band fits so perfectly together :) i love them and their music!!

  • estoy enamorado de netta

  • Perfect!

  • who was the one dumb ass that cant click right?

  • Is it weird to clap after everytime I watch this?

  • @I3lindGuardian nope it's a good preformance!

  • who in hell did the one dislike!? banished to the never ending sands of Serkland to be circled by vultures!

  • The violin player looks kind of like a young Mick Jagger.

  • Not a fan of Turisas, but they should totally you know, ditch the makeup. It makes them look ridiculous.

And, the guitarist with the acoustic that has a cutaway. What kind of guitar is that? It's beautiful...

  • @Kuolleille It makes sense live and goes well with what they were singing about: heroic times, epic journeys and battle metal. See it as a stage act, as costumes if you will.. Think about how would a Shakespeare play look if the actors would ditch their costumes and perform in shorts and t-shirts.

  • Can't get enough of this, have watched it 4 times in a row and on my fifth!! You can't help but imagine being sat around a camp fire as you sharpen the edge of your battle axe, drinking, laughing and joking with your brothers in arms, knowing the carnage, sorrow, glory and honour that awaits you!!

    Fucking love it \m/

  • epic voice!

  • i wanna know where that mofo gets his jacket its sick

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks a lot guys, for answering my question and the explanations!! =)

  • I already have the metal albums, but I would definitely buy all the albums remade as acoustic songs as well!

  • wearing glasses indoors. plank

  • @ithinksasukeiscool he's definitly too cool for us, isn't he. :DD

  • Nobody thinks that Olli looks really hot in 2:02? XDDD

  • @Mudleone I think Olli looks hot all the time... :D

  • @darkenedsoul117 mhh, he even changed the whole position of his violin too in less than a second ? :) 6:25-26 :p

  • they did record more than once this session, look at 6:22 and 6:24 and then 6:26/6:28, you can see olli holding his bow once with his left hand and then the second after with his right hand :) so that's not a "live" performance :/

    still, nice sound :)

  • @nanie146 or he just switched hands?

  • @nanie146 - it is normal to have cuts in between and breaks and all this when you record and acoustic session for a DVD as a bonus for an album...still it doesnt immediately mean it is not "live". they played it live, it has been recorded video and also audio wise...

  • I love how these guys can make their battle metal sound so smooth as acoustic. They did it so well in this style... it's almost relaxing! Looks great, I would totally have a beer with these guys, hehe.

  • Holmgard works the best as an acoustic version :)

  • I like that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He can go soooo epic low with his voice!

    I'm amazed

  • To Holmgard And Beyond is like it's made to be played acoustic, it's perfect like that

  • Stand Up And Fight is a really inspiring song

  • I love Mathias's glasses.

  • i love the little duel ollie and hannes have from 1:58 to 2:15

  • Poor Netta can be happy of that ,,yks kaks kolm neljä"XD

  • Turisas' music is so much more beautiful acoustically :D and it's freakin awesome normally!

  • Haha, Stairway ending to Stand Up And Fight. Awesome.

  • 2 things,, mathias has a awesome voice ( jalous me) and netta is hot, even without warpaint

  • I´ve been late at school because of this, haha. I simply couldn´t interrupt this beautiful music and had to watch ´til the end =)))))

    Turisas is awesome!!!!!11

  • Christyavo: Mathias spoke in finnish: Y ja ka, ja y-ka-ko-ne ==> Yksi ja Kaksi, ja Yksi, Kaksi, Kolme, Nelja ==> One and Two, and One, Two, Three, Four. ;)

  • GREAT!!! ^^

  • Soooooooo awesome! I love these acoustic versions. I loved Eluveitie's acoustic album, I loved Equilibrium's acoustic bonus disc, and I love this one as well :)

  • Oh my heart beats so fast when I look at Mathias. Never seen so handsome man. :D

  • @Himmee13

And I love the way Olli plays his violin. Especially in Holmgard and Beyond. Amazing!

  • can i download this or buy this in an mp3 version somewhere?

  • And I'm telling you to...... staaaaand uuuup aaaand fiiiiight...

  • coisa mais linda desse mundo!

  • turisassssssss rulessss PUTA MADREEE PINCHE MATHIAS SENSUALLLLLLLLLLLL SU VOZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • Oh wow, that voice. I'd go gay for that voice.

  • I want all of your song acoustic!!

  • Amazing!! je there are no more words!... Turisas its really really amazing!! wow...

  • I LOVE Turisas. Mathias's voice is one of the best voices i've ever heard.

  • Netta is so pretty. :)

  • What is the drummer's name? :P

  • @Eeekxx Tude Lehtonen :)

  • @JUMANJIHEADBANG Ah, thanks. :3 I thought that was it, but he looks different now than when I saw him in a different video.

  • @Eeekxx he has recently cut his hair! :( he was better when he had long blonde hair! XD

  • Sorry for this stupid question, but I don't know the language. What did Mathias say at the beginning? Was he counting off?

  • @Christyavo I don't speak Finnish but I guess Mathias just counts "one, two; one, two, three, four" in Finnish. If there's any Finn here please correct me if I'm wrong ;)

  • @wupperbayer I think that's about right. Thank you so much!! Mathias sounds so perfect in here!! Love this video!! <3

  • @wupperbayer you are correct it is 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4; yksi, kaksi, kolme nelja in finnish and only the first syllable pronounce to shorten it to yk, ka, kol, ne (if yksi looks a bit strangely spelled, y is pronounce differently in finnish)

  • @wupperbayer

    You're right. :)

  • im half finish he says one two one two three :D

  • @wupperbayer That's right dude!

  • @wupperbayer

I'm only part Finn but yes, you're right, Mathias is just counting in in Finnish at the beginning.

  • @wupperbayer Yea he did say so. Fuck, these are better than the "real" versions of the songs! :D

  • @wupperbayer He says the short version of the numbers : Y, ka ja yh ka kol nel. Which you can translate to 'One, two, and one two three four'. The 'real number name' would be : Yksi, kaksi ja yksi kaksi kolme neljä.

    I hope it helps !

  • @wupperbayer I'm not finnish but "One two tree four" is "yksi kaksi kolme neljä" in finnish, but Mathias says "y ka ko ne" as abbreviation... :)

  • @wupperbayer Yes he's counting like that

  • @wupperbayer you're right! according to the google translator is "yksi, kaksi, kolme, neljä".

los escucho todas las mañanas! gracias por subir el video =D

  • @wupperbayer

Mathias says "yk kak yk kak kol nel." It's how we count to 4 because saying the whole word is too long.

Yksi, kaksi, kolne and neljä are all 2 syllables long, so to shorten it, the latter half is eliminated.

  • @wupperbayer You got it right :)

  • @wupperbayer Actually he says even shorter forms of "one, two, three, four" he says "y, ka, ko, ne" that comes from "yksi, kaksi, kolme, neljä" ^-)

  • @wupperbayer You're correct, hes counting off, though hes not saying the full name of the numbers 1 and 2 (used when we count in music to shorten to one syllable). Finnish numbers hes saying are actually "yksi, kaksi, kolme", (1,2,3 respectively) but hes saying "yk, kak, yk...kak...kolme" [Pronounced in English --- ook, cock, ook cock kolmay"

  • @wupperbayer Yeap. Mathias is counting "yksi, kaksi, yksi, kaksi, kolme, neljä". That means "one, two, one, two, three, four" in Finnish. :)

  • @Christyavo yes, he is counting off using the short versions of the numbers in finnish

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @Christyavo

abbreviated finnish counting yksi kaksi kolme nelja.

  • @Christyavo "One, two and one two three four", to be exact :) he is counting off to the start of the song.

  • @rollex2 Yupp, I got it already. Thanks a lot anyway! =)

  • According to the booklet, it was filmed on November 21, 2010 at the Studio Sound Supreme in Hämeenlinna (obviouly in Finland); this is the same studio the album was recorded in, just somewhat later (album recording was from March-October)

  • when was this filmed/recorded?

  • Man Jussi looks like a viking no matter what he wears

  • only a small question, there are more songs in this session to buy the original cd???

  • @aestos only these three songs are on the Stand Up And fight Limited Edition Bonus cd.

  • @mece66 Well, there are more songs on the bonus CD (two cover versions of Jethro Tull and Black Sabbath), but not as part of the acoustic session.

  • Awesome!
