  • I love it... beautiful beautiful

  • This video used to have a download link... I wish it came back. I've loved this song for three years.

  • Does anybody know what make that low whistle is? I'm thinking about getting one and I love this one's tone, but don't know too much about them yet.

Anyway, love the song. the sound of the harp and the whistle together is quite awesome.

  • @SPARTAbassist It looks to be an overton to me.

  • Stunning!!

  • The harp is the most beautiful instrument ever,:D

  • What technique do you use to make that flapping sound during the a part the second time? Awesome playing!

  • amazing haha

  • Wow, absolutely beautiful, no other way to put this, I am actually a huge admirer of yours, I play tin and low whistle too but not to this extent yet. Haha, maybe someday, until then you're among my top models. PLAY ON!

  • That took way too long to load. I was growing impatient for good reason. Excellent.

  • Is the fingering of the Low Whistle the same as the tin whistle? thanks~

  • @ManlyAsianDude yes. it is

  • Amazing!!! I really like it! :)

  • Beautiful!!

  • richtig geil!

  • lovely.... it's so familiar tho...

  • Beautifull! You should record an album!

( even if I wuold have liked that tune played less fast )

  • Bravo! I always love hearing music that reminds me of my celtic ancestory. Perfect, you two are true artists!

  • Ulli is to fast

  • So stunning! I can all but feel the fluttering wingbeats on my skin, if I close my eyes and let my mind wander with the notes. You play together excellently. Flawless, emotional, all you could wish for. Thank you so much for sharing!

  • I am fascinated. Great version! Nice job from both.

  • @veritas89g

    Thanks a lot, that´s perfect

  • I love this song.

I´d like to learn it on the harp, does anyone know where I could get the sheet music?

  • @TheSamsi004

Google "the session" and click on the first link. Click on search, and type "the butterfly," and again, click on the first link. There's a sheet music tab, as well as abc file. have fun!

I recommend downloading abc software (it's free). It's easier to read than the sheet music I linked, and it also has a playback feature.

Such a rich sound from both players, and the harp is as lively and rhythmic as I've ever heard.

  • Amazing, sooooo good. I play the tin whistle and other instuments but finally bought a low whistle of my own, got it yesterday and I suck. But I'll get it, my Irish-American feistness will get me through. Gonna learn this one with my brother on Mandolin. Keep putting on more songs so I have more to learn. My kids are tired of me watching your videos, they want to watch the Muppets, but I keep my laptop up high and they're short. Ha!

  • Wow, super gemacht. Weiter so.

  • That low whistle has a gorgeous tone! :)

    Well played, both of you!

  • What is there about a harp that can turn a Celtic dance tune into music for Arthur's royal court? Ah, such bliss. Glad to see you two have a joint account now!

  • ¡Enhorabuena! muy bonito.

  • I just taught myself to play this on banjo. But after listening to you too, I don't really think it's a banjo tune anymore! 5 Stars.

  • It seems so hard to find low whistles. atleast where i live. even online most of them are 100$ and over. but good good video

  • @mroubison Try Domnahl Na Gruen. He's dead good and his whistles are dead characterful. I've had a couple, and his newer model is ace. I think they're about £50/60, whatever that is in dollars.

  • Great~!

  • beautiful! wherever you go and play people will admire and respect you!

  • aye men brother

  • pleeeease tell me how you practice tunes liek the butterfly. it was this tune(played by Celtic woman that first realy got me wanting to learn properly to play) how do you get that kind of ornimantation into the music it sounds so beautiful. im learning this and have been for a while i dont know but it must be i get sceard of teh higher part in the 2nd phrase and i jsut lose rythem and forget teh sound i dont know i love the tune but i just cant seem to get past the 2nd part:( help aprctd:D

  • wohooo. At last. Searched for some time for the instrument in the Song Sídhenearlahí by Omnia. It's a f***ing Low whistle. Thank you, I like this instrument.

  • wow for a moment I thought you guys were in the same room, Awesome job!

  • yes, me too lol....

  • A great listen, but too fast to dance to.

You guys should play at a feis, dance speed for slip jig is 113 - 115 bpm.

  • The recording by Tommy Potts, the great Dublin fiddler who originally composed this very nice slip jig (yes! Don't just label this tune trad., it was really composed by Tommy Potts) was played much, much faster. You might even get shocked by that kind of speed.

  • Outstanding!!! o.O

  • xDDDDD <3

  • @Sinanthir Its the song, you'll notice that both the harp and the tin whistle ( i think thats what it is, but its mighty big) are both playing the song

  • This is my favourite, I think :)

  • The score is in the Low whistle book Hannigan & Ledsan for mapelsquirrel

  • wonderful collab! perfect! you guys both are very talented!

  • you were awsome seven thumbs up!!!

  • does anybody know the origin of The Butterfly? i mean i know it's on the celtic woman album but is it perhaps older?

  • It is from a man named Tommy Potts or by his nephew Sean Potts(I think). It was written in the early to mid 1900's. It is a very famous traditional slip jig. Several other players played it other than Celtic Woman. I hope that helps :)

  • absolutely captivating. makes me want to learn the harp!

  • this is The Butterfly as it is meant to be played. best version i have ever heard.

  • Hello! I absolutely love this song, and have been trying to find the sheet music to it. I haven't had success yet. Can you tell me where you can find the sheet music? Thanks so much for your help! Natalie

  • Hello, is a nice surprise to find them. I am very pleased this style of music. When I lived in Canada, in cultural festivals in the city of Waterloo, listened to Irish music, Celtic and medieval.

    I congratulate them.

My English is not very good.

  • Beautiful music! :)

  • Why the tin whistle is very cheap and the low doesn´t?

  • The low whistle is considered somewhat of a specialty item (it was invented only 40 years ago). But if you have some mechanical skill you can make one for under $20. There are websites describing how...

  • Haunting. Very delightful to hear.

  • I love this song!

  • Epic. Amazing...

  • I spy a cheiftan low whistle
