Yeah, Compression locks. They pinch me about a third of the time on my Para II.

Fair enough, well thought out review. I'm not here to bust balls, but I feel I should say, it is not pronounced "yo-HIM-bo." It is a Japanese word meaning "Bodyguard," and it is actually pronounced "yo-JIM-bo." Peace.

@jmce3 I like spyderco a lot but the yojimbo 2 is the first one that I would not recommend at all for someone, that being said there seem to be others that like theirs, thanks for watching man

Sucks that compression lock is giving you probs. the PPT is a slick looking blade. i like them both.

Thats too bad about the compression lock. Its pretty effortless on my para2 and one of my favorite locking mechanisms. Which para2 do you have on order?

I have the same problem with my Para2 lock. I don't have blade play on my YJ2 yet but I still prefer a good 'ol liner or frame locks.

i have a yojimbo 2 and the blade is centered, no blade play, and the lock up is fine (easy to disengage). I do get the pinching you mentioned though.

@defenseandsafety it seems to be about half and half, kind of sucks I hope my sprint para 2 doesnt have the tight compression lock when I get it

Mine did the same thing when I first got it and It broke in really nice, still have some blade play but I still like the knife....the compression lock still buts my finger fat too lol...I plan on getting the PPT soon, thanks for sharing

Thats a shame man! The Tai Chung factory really turns out a quality knife with a high level of consistency.

The PPT is actually a frame lock with a scale on the lock bar side, I love mine, it's my favorite Spydie!

Asthetically I prefer the PPT as well. I haven't handled either of them but this vid kind of addresses the issues I had about the Yojimbo 2. Cant hurt to have both though, eh?!
